Problems with 2007 Ford Edge STRUCTURE

Takata recall. dealership has not scheduled repair date. fuel tank rust/leak recall. dealer has stated repair dates unknown.

Paint on hood of vehicle is peeling off

Driver and passenger doors close, but do not latch. they also will not lock. doors are not secure and will randomly open. the door open indication light is displaying on the instrument panel. this happens when closing the doors when the vehicle is stopped. doors are not safe or securely latching. happening in cold weather.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 ford edge. the contact noticed corrosion around the rear driver side wheel well of the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank corroded and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v682000 (fuel system, gasoline). the failure mileage was 90,000.

The rear quarter panels on both sides have rusted through and need to be fixed. *tr

2007 ford edge with vista roof glass top. while driving at highway speed my front glass panel exploded and scattered glass shards down the back of the vehicle. since dealing with the ford dealer and company there is no indication that this is a common problem. however, after doing some research on the internet, i have found several instances of this reported (http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.f0fd566) since we had the inside panel closed no one was hurt. besides the noise scaring the driver i imagine that if the panel is open this could be very dangerous. the car is still in for repair and am told replacement part(s) is on order from out of state. this problem seems to continue into at least the 2008 models. *tr

My husband was traveling i-40e at the ft. smith junction about 50mph when he heard a very loud bang in the right front. thinking it was a blowout, he braced and then a very loud repetitive thumping started, he said he was kind of floating around the road uncontrollably while this was happening, then he heard another loud bang and the vehicle stopped as though he hit something that allowed him to continue moving at a slow rate of speed the was pulled into the barricade wall of the bridge. upon inspection, the tire had com;letely fallen off and laid down on its side and the vehicle, just between the passenger front for and wheel well, had landed on the wheel. the highway patrol was contacted and i was called to the scene. i observed a long metal bar snapped in two, as well as the strut. the spring was also laying there. the collision was on the right front corner infront of the wheel well. *tr

I had the same problems with our 2007 ford edge i took it in they sprayed some kind of sealant on the brackets and i don't get the rust stains any more (the ac was dripping on the brackets and causing rust stains.) *tr

2007 ford edge with a glare on the windshield while it is sunny. consumer states it is very difficult to see through the glare on the windshield. dealer would not let her trade it in for a black or gray dashboard. *kb

Blinding glare from dash reflection on windshield, extreme safety hazard, this is present in sun and shade, we have been told its a characteristic of the vehicle and nothing can be done. the consumer provided various pictures of the defect. updated 09/19/07 *tr

2007 ford edge with several problems. consumer states that the vehicle is a lemon. here are some of the car's problems rear brake lights fill with water when it rains. seat broke, screw sticks up and cut a child's foot, brakes failed and more. *kb the pin in the gear shift did not engage properly, leaving the consumer unable to place the vehicle in park. the sun roof material came apart and fell down onto the consumers head while driving. *jb
