Anytime i put a half a tank in gas in car it smells bad in truck so when this does happen i look in the truck,there's this foam in the back that's co bed with gas,n the small is bad.i don't let me kids in the gas,ntil its gone..will it catch in 🔥.it happens all the time since i bought the car.help plz

Tl* the contact owns a 1999 ford crown victoria. the contact was driving approximately 40 mph when the vehicle lunged from side to side abnormally. a local mechanic diagnosed that there was a steering wheel defect but the vehicle was not repaired. the dealer was notified of the failure, but denied any assistance with repairs to the vehicle. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 55,000 and the current mileage was 57,000.

Tl*-the contact took the 1999 ford crown victoria to the ford dealership for an unrelated service. the dealership stated that the contact had problems with the bolts in the steering shaft. the technician replaced them. the contact felt that this was a major safety problem. the current and failure mileage were 81,865.*ak the dealer also replaced the right front ball joint when the car was being repaired. the pitman arm was replaced. update 5/4/07*tr

Consumer stated that the tie rod ends on the front of the vehicle fell off, appeared as if they were never tightened. they had just been adjusted. *ak reference 10099733 *tc

Complaint received via e-mail. on my way to michigan from illinois on of the tie rod ends fell off of my car. dealer called me, and informed me that the one fell off was not the only one, the rest of them were about to go. mind you this vehicle was not quite 5 years old. ford sent out letters to truck and suv owners, but not to car owners about this problem. *ak reference 10099643. *tc

Dt*: the contact stated on two occasions, the vehicle's front tie rods were loose and had to be replaced. the vehicle had an oil change performed at the service dealer on 08/16/04 who noticed the right tie rod was loose. the right tie rod was replaced, and the same incident occurred with the left tie rod two years later. the manufacturer was not contacted. *ak

Sudden failure of ball joints and steering linkage parts. *jb

Vehicle makes a squeaky noise when turning corners. parts have been replaced more than usual. dealer was notified. *akvehicle has had right and left upper ball joints and control arms replaced. the right front inner tie rod was replaced. the left outer tie rod has been replaced. *jg

While slowing down from 45 mph to make a turn steering shaft fell apart and caused vehicle to lose control. no collision was reported. dealer notified. feel free to provide further details. *ak
