Problems with 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 TIRES

On sat. 11/21/15 i was driving east on i-80 at martis valley in truckee, ca. suddenly, i felt a vibration in the front end. as i slowed to merge into the right lane, so that i could pull over, the right front tire blows to pieces, my truck lunges into the right lane, narrowly missing a subaru, and i finally get safely pulled over. the tires, bfg ko2 all terrain, are brand new, less than 1000 miles on them. cost me $2200.00, bought them 2 weeks earlier from discount tire in reno, nv. upon further investigation into bfg tires, i have found over 150 complaints, just in the past six mos., of either the same blowout that happened to me, or the tread of the tire peeling off completely. some people have had significant property damage compared to the damage that my truck endured. this may have something to do with the tires being on 3/4 and 1 ton trucks, as the cycle of "most" of the complaints are people that drive these vehicles. bfg then tells the consumer that they need the tire to determine why the tire failed. then after they get the tire they deny the consumers claim, and tell them that the tire failed because of something the consumer had done, i.e. low tire pressure, struck something, ect... seems to be the same story over and over. i have new tires on order, some nitto's. never tried them, but i have a lot of buddies that run them. i hope that this complaint will be investigated before somebody causes a bad accident. i have the shredded tire that i was hoping to send to you guys to see if you could determine the cause of the blowout. thank you *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500 equipped with michelin goodrich lt (na) tires, size: 265/70r17 (na). while driving 65 mph, there was an abnormal vibration coming from the vehicle. the contact noticed the tires where cracking and coming apart from the seams. after driving approximately 4 miles, the tires blew out without warning. the vehicle was taken to a dealer. the tire manufacturer stated that the cracks were due to normal weather conditions in the area. the tires were replaced. the vehicle and tire failure mileage was 17,773.

Cracks have formed on the sidewalls of all the tires, and have become more pronounced lately. the tires are original, and the truck has less than 8,000 miles on it. *tr
