We have classified the 4 complaints from 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 about ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING into the following categories.
While driving on interstate highway in my 2006 dodge ram 2500 diesel truck the check engine light came on and the engine shut down. it appeared that a fuel line had ruptured. fuel had sprayed on the engine and fuel was visibly leaking from the engine. the truck was towed to the dodge dealership where i was told that the number 4 injector tube had broken. the truck was repaired and everything seems to work properly. i discovered that there are multiple instances listed on internet forums related to the number 4 injector tube and clamp holding the fuel line on 2006 dodge ram trucks with the cummins diesel. the fact that the number 4 injector tube (out of 6 total) is the only injector tube that appears to have this problem and the fact that fuel is sprayed on a hot engine creating a safety issue should warrant further investigation and design review. i contacted chrysler customer service to inform them of the issue and to see if any repair considerations were available. chrysler customer service did not offer any repair considerations because they said my truck warranty had expired. chrysler did not acknowledge this issue as anything other than a repair let alone as a safety issue. any consideration for review of what i believe to be a safety issue would be greatly appreciated. thanks *tr

5.7 hemi engine failure due to ingestion of water. vehicle traveling over high water just below front bumper leading to water being sucked thru the air cleaner assembly into engine and hydrolocking the engine. *tr
Outsider air door/flap in the a/c system on my 2006 dodge ram pickup is broken which prevents air flow to the cabin. i removed the broken door flap, but now am unable to shut off outside air flow. this is dangerous to my family's health since i am unable to prevent outside exhaust fumes from entering the inside of the truck. apparently this is common on all dodge ram trucks in this make/model. replacing the flap requires removing the entire dash and is very costly to have done by the dealer. likewise, people have had it replaced multiple times and it continues to break. the design is very poor - made of plastic and the hinge can easily break. it needs to be redesigned and recalled by the dealer. *tr
The dodge sprinter roadtrek lost power on interstate 80 about 60 miles from cheyenne, wyoming. the vehicle has 4000 miles on it. wyoming is the middle of nowhere and the maximum speed was 50 mph. we turned on our blinkers and limped into cheyenne. it is dangerous to lose power and there are no alternative roads to take in wyoming. *tr
