Dt*: the contact stated while the vehicle's gear position indicator was in park the vehicle rolled backward. while standing outside of the vehicle with the engine running it rolled and hit a parked vehicle. although the gear position indicator was in park, when the indicator was inspected after the incident, the position indicator was found in reverse. the police filed a report at the scene. however, no injuries were reported. the vehicle sustained damage to the bumper with additional property damage to the other vehicles. the vehicle was taken to the local dealership for inspection. the dealership could not duplicate the problem. the contact claimed wife was in the passenger's seat at the time of crash, but could not get to gear shift in time to stop vehicle.,she had left arm in a sling due to rotator cuff surgery. the vehicle continued to have the problem of the gear shift jumping into reverse. the indicator definitely wa sin park momentarily before changing back to reverse. the contact's liability insurance paid for repairs to the other vehicle in clash , and the insurance premium increased as a result of the accident. also, the contact enclosed a copy of the safety recall notice which he received from daimler/chrysler. he felt damage to the vehicle has not been repaired , and he felt this was a dodge problem. *ak
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 dodge ram 2500 quad. while the vehicle was parked the contact noticed there was power steering leaking underneath it. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. the technicians stated the power steering line needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the transmission lines were cracked and needed to be replaced prior to repairing the vehicle. the computer in the transmission was reprogrammed. the vehicle was repaired. the contact stated upon purchasing the vehicle there were several failures. the manufacturer was made aware of the failures. the approximate failure mileage was 10,000.
dt: contact owns a 2005 dodge ram 2500 quad cab lwb. the contact stated when the indicator was in park it went into reverse. this resulted in an accident. the consumer stated about 35 seconds after the vehicle was parked it went into reverse and hit an asphalt paver. the vehicle has not been to a service dealer to be inspected to determine the cause of the problem. *ak
2005 dodge pickup with park problems. customer states her husband put the truck in park and left it running and it starting rolling backwards. she states that the truck knocked her husband down. *kb the dealer informed the consumer there was nothing wrong with the park gear. the consumer received a recall in the mail relating to the problem she and her husband experienced twice and is requesting reimbursement for the damages incurred to their vehicle as a result of the malfunction. *jb the consumer check the box as being injured, however, the descriptions says he was not injured. updated 10/03/07. *jb

I have an 05 ram 2500 quad cab hemi truck with 3,200 miles on it. since new the truck has had an erratic idle and would occasionally die when shifting from reverse to drive. the pcm has been flashed, the throttle body is projected to be replaced next. this problem is getting progressively worse as the truck recently stalled in traffic three times in a ten minute period. i will also be filling a similar complaint for my 05 hemi durango limited.
Back end of 05 dodge ram 1500 slid on wet pavement at approximately 10 mph. when back end hit curb, axle snapped where wheel and axle meet. given events, this should be looked at as a defect-axle should not have broken in this condition. dealership claimed it under my insurance-would not even consider warranty.
Dt: with the car running, the gear went out of park. without warning the transmission interlock with brakes is satisfied and allows the transmission to shift to another gear. the consumer had an accident. the dealer said he could not find a problem. manufacturer could not find a problem. parking interlock logic is faulty. truck is a ram 2500 quad cab 4x4. chrysler complaint file #13477159 emma martel at 248-944-7038
