We have classified the 6 complaints from 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 about TIRES into the following categories.
In december,2011, i purchased 2 equalizer sport a/p tires. in august 2013 , one of them had a tread separation, which i caught and replaced it before a bigger problem. in march, 2014 the tread of the second tire came off completely without warning. it damaged my vehicle. we were fortunate that my wife and i were not hurt as we were towing a 12,000 pound 5th wheel rv. further information will be about the second incident. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2002 dodge 2500 diesel. the vehicle had cooper discoverer atr tires, line size lt265/75/r16, dot number 3dw8c8c0609. the contact was driving 65 mph when the rear passenger tire failed. the thread separated from the sidewall of the tire, damaging the wheel rim. the manufacturer was contacted and advised the contact that the tire was not under recall. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileage was 88,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2002 dodge ram 2500. the contact stated that the wedge that held the spare tire fractured from the vehicle and struck another vehicle behind the contact's vehicle causing damage to the vehicle. the contact was advised by the manufacturer that the failure was not their liability and offered no assistance. the failure mileage was 46,000 and the current mileage was 48,000. updated 03/15/11*lj updated 12/14/11 *cn
I was driving my truck on the way to the cottage when the belt in my left front tire blew. i had to make a quick stop as to not loose control of my vehicle. there is a recall on an earlier version of the same tires produced 2 weeks prior to my tires. definity dakota a/t lt285/75r16 3dyupbb3506 (my dot) definity dakota a/t lt285/75r16 3dyupbb3206 (tire recall) definity dakota a/t lt285/75r16 3dyupbb3306 (tire recall) i believe that this defect in the previous official recall should apply to my tires as well. any help would be appreciated. *tr thanks
Purchased 4 tires from costco, greensboro,nc on 7/18/07. all 4 valve stems have failed. one on 5/18/08 and three on 8/02/08. *tr
Driving home from a camping trip when about 18" of tread flew off my tire. so i pulled over to the side of the road and change the tire. *jb
Stock tires failed at 18k. replaced all four tires and rims since it damaged one of the wheels during a blowout. *tr
Consumer stated while driving at 35 mph, the spare tire had broken loose and was bouncing on the road. when consumer went to retrieve the wheel, he found a 4x5 inch bracket being supported by an eighth inch cable. *ph
