Tl* the contact owns a 2001 dodge 2500. the contact stated that the fuel system and fuel injector failed. the vehicle would loose power while driving and eventually stall without warning. the manufacturer was notified of the failure, but denied any assistance with repairs to the vehicle. the vehicle was repaired. the failure and the current mileage was 145,000.

2001 dodge ram 2500 dashboard cracking . tv investigation slot shown on internet. my vehicle has the same problem - purchased new dashboard panel from dodge dealer $200. in the past year have front axle seals, water pump, power steering pump , fuel injection pump and automatic transmission failed. repaired over $ 6400 in expense - the dash problem broke the monkey's back. *ak

Tl* the contact owns a 2001 dodge ram 2500. the dealer stated that the fuel transfer pump located and bolted on the side of the engine above the starter was leaking diesel fuel. the failure mileage was 61916. the dealer also advised the contact that they no longer make that type of pump. the contact attempted to reach the manufacturer to file a complaint and was unsuccessful. the contact was never notified that the parts were no longer available, and was aware of the safety risk involved. the current mileage was 62015. *ak consumer states that he has the old pump. the dealer is putting a plate over where the old pump was bolted on the block. updated 4/9 *tr

Dt*: the contact stated while driving at various speeds the vehicle stalls without warning. the vehicle was towed to the dealership, where it was determined the lift pump failed and caused the injector pump to fail also. the components have been replaced each time, but continue to fail.

Dt: the fuel pump failed , and the caller was told that part was on a nationwide back order. he was waiting for 2 weeks to get the fuel pump. he was told by the manufacturer to file a complaint on how long he had to wait for the part. currently, he has his fuel pump. the caller said that the backorder was about 300 at a time, he was concerned that the part was failing prematurely. *ak

While the consumer was pulling out of a driveway the vehicle's clutch failed. *nm the consumer stated that the sender unit for the fuel was not working and not covered by the warranty. the ball joints went out along with the clutch. at the 200 mile mark the rod which when pushed activates the clutch went out. *tc *jb

1. stereing wheel would not center up, vehicle drove straight. dealer said this is normal to compensate for torque, no warranty repair, took to a suspension shop for repair $ 1200.00 (see details below). 2. transmission shuddered in torque converter lock up. delaer found no problems with transmission, but confirmed the problem. $ 2200.00 for new hd torque converter and hp valve body (see detail below) **accelerator stuck wide open while traveling down interstate, had to push hard on brake pedal to slow down to merge to shoulder, place vehicle in neutral and the engine revved to red line, shut down the motor. motor would not start only crank. dealer said the injector pump and controller awere bad, $ 3000.00 for reapair. replaced ball joint 6/2002, replaced transmission 10/2004, replaced fuel injector pump 12/04. sum total of repairs $ 6600.00.*ak

While driving the consumer noticed that smoked was coming from the rear. the vehicle started to vibrated uncontrollably. the driver was able to maintain control of the vehicle and drove it to the dealer. the mechanic informed the driver that the fuel injector needed replacing due to cleaning sensors. *jb the consumer indicated that this problem started after pulling a trailer for 200 miles. the vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the replaced the injector pump. *nm

While driving at 55 mph engine started missing,then suddenly the engine stalled. consumer tried several times to get the engine running again. consumer found that the problem was the fuel pump. the consumer went to the dealer to buy a new fuel pump, and was informed by the mechanic that there was a common problem with that vehicles fuel pump. *ak

While driving 40 mph and coming to a stop the vehicle stalled. the consumer managed to pull the vehicle over but it would not restart. it was later determined that the fuel transfer pump failed. *ak *nlm

Fuel lift pump failure could cause a serious accident, loss of power will cause loss of brakes,power steering, and control. thousands of failures have occurred, the failed part is on national back order due to the large number of system failures. chrysler/dodge has not addressed this issue!!! *ak
