Biggest things is the airbag light coming on, just worries me with it just exploding and coming out, i just think it's a problem, especially just coming on for no reason

In 2018,yr 2012 dodge ram truck, was recalled for the t79 recall. after recall was installed, now truck stalls-goes dead when brake pushed & dies in reverse. after research, it's a major issue w/the 1500's yet there hasnt been a recall. this is a very dangerous situation that dodge has put the owners in. so when i brake for anything on a hwy, it goes dead! the dealer checks for an error code & yet there is no error code so they cant do anything about it-dependent on computers versus hands on mechanics. dealer suggested to leave my truck & they'll drive it until it happens which is random. it's ridiculous that mechanics have no real hands-on mechanical ability & depend on computers to provide error codes. after the t79 recall was done, was it required to upgrade/update or refresh the computer system afterwards? dealer said the recall did not call for an computer update as dodge did not require it. per internet forums, youtube, & internet, the stalling is a major issue! guess i have to take chances w/this issue of stalls/dying on hwy travel-dangerous! also, the steering wheel has something loose inside of it. it sounds like the airbag has come loose & is moving when wheel turned. any recalls or word on this? again the dealer plugs in his computer & doesn't see anything wrong even though you can hear it. dodge needs to be accountable & responsible for all these mistakes-esp since this is a safety issue! also, on the 1st day of purchasing my truck, the pass airbag light remained on. dealer kept new truck for 6 wks to attempt resolution & ended up contacting dodge engineering & found out the colored wires were crossed - the colors were interchanged at the factory! amazing & no recall was done. it's impossible to speak w/cust serv at dodge ram- someone that is knowledgeable.

Takata recall front collision with airbags did not deploy, cut open my head and gave me concussion. truck slid off road due to wet road and crashed head on into telephone pole. *tr

I called the dealership to schedule my recall repair. they told me i did not have any active recalls on my vehicle. after an unpleasant back and forth i was finally able to get a manager or "advisor" on the phone. the advisor determined that i did in fact have an active recall. this error was extremely unprofessional, unacceptable and could have endangered my life and the lives of anyone in my vehicle as the safety risk of the recall is "the loss of air bag and seat belt pretensioner deployment capability during a crash may increase the risk of injury or death." (nhtsa recall number17v-302). while this instance is the most egregious from a safety perspective, this is not the first time ourisman jcd of alexandra, va has been reckless or negligent with my vehicle and i would like to file a formal complaint. errors like this could lead to myself or someone else getting seriously injured or worse.

The dealer says its a bad tipm, and that they go bad on ram trucks often. all the electrical system goes crazy, traction control, air bags, abs, blower for heat and air, wipers, door locks, windows and others. if they know this is faulty why not should they have to recall or pay us back

There is a problem with everything electrically related to the truck. the headlights stay on, i have to disconnect the battery to get them to go off. the windshield wipers constantly remain on. the interior lights, door locks, windows, seats, heat, a/c, radio, dash lights, etc do not work. once the truck starts, all of the dash warning lights come on. (check engine, abs, low windshield wiper fluid, voltage, low oil pressure, etc) the truck is not safe to drive and is a hazard to my family.

Air bag failure--on wednesday july 13 2016 the vehicle (2009 dodge ram 1500) was involved in a front end collision while traveling on a city owned road. the driver who was the only person in the vehicle lost control of the vehicle when taking a sharp right turn on a dirt road in the dark. as a result the vehicle crashed into a ditch, completely smashing in the front end and damaged most of the rest of the truck as well. upon impact the driver's air bag did not deploy. the driver sustained injuries to his entire upper body as well as suffering from a concussion upon impact because of the air bag malfunction. he required emergency medical attention and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. we have more pictures including pictures of the front end of the truck however the file is to big to upload on this report.

Totally integrated power module (tipm) has been dangerous. all four windows went down while truck was unattended and locked several times. we replaced the expensive tipm and car stopped doing that. a few months later, we found out that just one electrical item can cause the entire tipm burn out that affects almost everything in the car. for us it was the backup camera that had a short. it caused air bags, seat belt safety, windshield wipers, defrost/fan, backup camera, locks not to work. dealership had to replace tipm again. we also believe the tipm may have had something to do with our transmission locking into gear.

I mailed a complaint notice and you claim someone will get back with you in 2 business days---i'm still waiting for a response on # 10896888 and # 10896617. our safety should be your utmost importance. how can we have our vehicles replaced if there are no parts, and if we choose to have this fixed ourselves, we are gouged in a bidding war and pay a premium price for the part. how do we know if our vehicle is actually being fixed or not? there needs to be an internal investigation..... The tipm (totally integrated power module) in the vehicle failed recently despite the vehicle being relatively "young" in age. the failure was random and occurred during the vehicle's normal use (casual driving). my understanding is that this device controls air bags and other safety devices. from what i read, this is not an isolated incident among vehicle owners. *tr

The tipm is going out. causing all sorts of electrical issues. heater fan stopped working, windshield wipers come and go, esp comes and goes, tow/haul comes and goes, rear window power comes and goes, 4x4 cant be turned on from time to time, airbag lights come on at will, esp/bas comes and goes, abs comes and goes, rear sliding window comes and goes, all of this happens mainly below 32 degrees but van happen anytime. but below freezing is extemely dangerous because the windshield ices up on the inside with no heater fan! thermometer stopped working to. im sure other thing but its to much to just remember off the top of my head. fuel economy is terrible also 12-13.5 mpg while the problems occur. normally is 17.1 mpg average still that is terrible. at test drive it was getting 20 mpg average. *tr

For the past week, my 2009 dodge ram 1500 has had issues with the windshield wipers not working, the lights for the stability control are on as well as the lights for the air bag. in addition, the rear windows do not work. all of these could be extremely hazardous depending on the driving conditions. i have taken the vehicle to the dealer who told me it would cost roughly $1800 to repair/replace the tipm. i find this extremely disturbing considering i have had this vehicle in numerous times for other issues and they have messed with the wiring on a number of different occasions. i believe the nhtsa should immediately issue a recall for this vehicle and issue before someone gets hurt or injured or worse because of it. *tr

Air bag did not deploy/seat belt did not lock. i was the only person in my vehicle. i accidentally rear ended a car who had abruptly stopped in traffic in front of me. severe heavy damage was done to the front driver side and passenger side of my vehicle. my dodge was declared a total loss. i suffered severe pain/injury to my head and neck. all persons involved in my and the other vehicle had to seek medical attention. my 2009 dodge ram was purchased new off the dodge lot in 2009...updated 10/20/11 *bf

Airbags did not deploy. seatbelts did not retract/work. was involved in a frontal driver side collision in which my 2009 dodge ram 1500 was totaled. i received head trauma injury per airbag and seatbelt not working. chrysler/dodge denying any responsibility w/ their defective product. *tr

1 person injured(driver) in dodge ram. however 2 other vehicles involved and not sure about their injuries. i accidently rear ended vehicle ahead of me which caused that vehicle to rear-end vehicle ahead of it. my vehicle(dodge ram) was totaled. frontal impact of dodge was very severe and caused me(driver) head and cervical trauma, resulting in emergency room visit and rehab therapies. all airbags in dodge ram failed to deploy and driver seatbelt failed to retract/respond resulting in my head/neck/spinal injury. i have written dodge-chrysler, they say they sent someone to inspect truck and say they are not responsible for the airbag and seatbelt not working. dodge/chrysler also write the airbag/seatbelt was not suppose to work due to the speed limit (40mph) driven and due to more of a side impact than frontal. however, the impact was both frontal and front side. (i have pictures)

An air bag is encased in the horn enclosure. i attempted to blow the horn and the airbag cover, which is part of the horn enclosure split. hill kelly dodge of pensacola, florida replaced the assembly. approximately november, 2014, the cover again split when i attempted to blow the horn. dealer tells me that an air bag is located in the horn enclosure and that tampering with the horn cover assembly could severely injure me if the air bag accidentally deploys. i have pictures to send to you. *tr

Airbag malfunctioned after a front passenger side collision. airbag did not deploy, instead the entire airbag housing unit came unbolted from the steering wheel, became a projectile, struck driver and damaged steering wheel. airbag unit, steering wheel, spring, and cruise control arm were replaced. dealership kept faulty parts for inspection. *tr
