Rear fuel tank strap has rusted through

Fuel tank strap and bracket corroded causing strap to break and fuel tank to sag under vehicle

I own a 2007 ram 1500 that spits fuel back out and is not safe to the person filling it. it also creates a hazard with fuel on the ground. dodge claims it was resolved in 2016 when i first had the problem. they are now unwilling to resolve their own repair for the same problem. fuel 'spit-back' through the filler neck has been a longstanding problem in several chrysler, dodge and jeep models, caused by the inlet check valve (icv) mounted in the fuel tank. despite some limited recalls and at least one extended lifetime warranty, this defect, which first surfaced in 2001, continues to plague a number of models. tens of thousands of vehicles are outside of any campaign, forcing owners to pay for a repair that requires replacement of the entire tank assembly. nhtsa id: 10056513 tsb id: wb-d-14-23 mopar: on some pick up trucks, an extended warranty has been issued on fuel tank inlet check valve. model 2007-2008 ram 1500. issued on 9/9/2014 i also located information on an x49 recall for other vehicles.

Started my truck up. then shifted into reverse with my foot on the brake, the truck suddenly went into a sudden acceleration. like i had my foot on the gas pedal. i had to steep on the brake pedal very hard and even with that the 5.7 hemi was a lot of power to stop. i avoided hitting a concrete wall and a side of a house. luckily i shifted into park and turned it off. it could of ended very badly. i now am not going to use the truck until i find out what's going on. i have called dodge corporation and they said they never heard of that happening or not at liberty to say. i have contacted my local dodge dealership and made an appointment for a diagnostic test. they told me on the phone that this is the first time that they ever heard of such a thing happening. i advised them to take a look at google and type in dodge ram sudden acceleration. upon my own research a number of dodge mechanics have said the following. 1. floor mat was stuck under pedal 2. tps sensor 3. iac sensor 5. throttle body one or all needs to be replaced. in conclusion i would hope that dodge looks and address this matter before it's to late.

Vehicle stalls after filling up gas tank. after you fill up and start driving at low speeds or at a stop sign or red light (idling) the vehicle will stall out and would restart after putting in neutral and starting. dangerous if driving slowly into a turn where you loose your power steering. the consumer inquired about a recall.*js

Codes po430,,po113,po455,emmisions

After filling with gas engine stalls leaving no steering when stopping at red light stop sign or making a turn while braking.

Got a technical service bulletin code p0406 and ask local dealer if they could repair this emission problem. they said no. engine light comes on regularly and getting bad fuel mpg. also codes p0404 and p0405 was recorded.

After the fuel tank is completely filled and the gas station refueling pump stops about a half a gallon of gasoline will violently spray out of the vehicle's refueling tube. this creates a puddle of fuel and often sprays on me. the spray comes out of the hole you insert the refueling nozzle into. i owed a 2006 dodge durango with the same engine that had the exact same issue. i'm sure this is a common issue with this manufacturer.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 dodge ram 1500. while driving 20 mph, the vehicle stalled and was unable to restart the vehicle. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel pump, ignition, and ignition reader failed. the vehicle was repaired; however, the vehicle failed to start after the repairs were performed. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 116,000.

Vehicle failed to restart while parked. fuel system relay failure is being blamed. the relay is part of the totally integrated power module system which has also failed. owner is thankful that become was parked at the time of fact and was not being driven before the sudden failure of tipm component. vehicle remains inoperative at current.

Driving and the vehicle quit. not getting gas. have a half tank of gas.

I purchased my vehicle 7 days ago. i have discovered a dangerous issue that only presents itself immediately after refueling. at low speeds in, turning, or while maneuvering through traffic the truck will chug and then die. leaving my vehicle without power steering and little braking ability. it happened twice after fueling friday, and then again three times after fueling today. two of the three times i was in heavy traffic and was almost in a collision by unsuspecting drivers behind me. the third time i was turning onto a sharp on ramp to merge into traffic. thankfully it died at the bottom of the ramp and not at the top where i would have been in traffic. and thankfully my wife wasn't driving, because without power steering her and my two daughters would have likely straightened out the on ramp and found themselves at the bottom of a steep bank. if this would happen while crossing a busy intersection a collision would be highly likely with fatalities for sure. the problem lasts for about the fist ten to fifteen miles of driving, and dies at lower speeds 0-25 mph. i have read about nhtsa investigations into other chrysler vehicles presenting the same issues, and where the warranties have been extended on the fuel tanks to resolve the issue. these warranties must be extended to the 2007 dodge ram 1500 as well in order to resolve this issue before someone is caught in traffic and killed.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, the check engine and the check fuel cap warning lights illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel cap needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the failure recurred. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 63,000.

Having problems with getting fuel to tank, transmission not shifting correct, constantly going through brakes and tires on from driver side.

Engine light and gas cap light keep coming on. replaced gas cap. light still coming on. independent garage says there is an air leak in line. appears to be a reoccurring issue with fuel lines on this model that leak because they rub on housing and not install proper by manufacturer. local dealer says it will be 1,100 to 1,400 to fix fuel lines. *tr

Truck began stalling with engine shutting off at random: while driving, at stop lights, etc. truck would not restart for various lengths of time. diagnosed as a bad fuel pump. fuel pump replaced with no improvement in behavior. diagnosed as intermittent random no electrical power to fuel pump module caused by malfunctioning tipm. replacement is $900-$1100. told this is a common occurrence with chrysler/dodge tipms, with no guarantee of non-recurrence. total loss of engine power due to a shut down of the fuel pump module while driving did not result in an accident, but the potential for an accident was huge. dodge dealer does not acknowledge a problem with tipms, but their mechanic has communicated that there are so many issues with tipms, that they have the part on back-order. please look into the tipm problem and dodge's complete control over the replacement/programming of these modules, holding owners hostage. *tr

While waiting in traffic for light to change at corner of jackson bluff road and hwy 544, conway, sc, on 4 august 2012, truck suddenly accelerated even when brake was applied. was able to whip truck onto sidewalk at jackson bluff rd & 544 to avoid an accident. it appeared that truck engine accelerated to as much as 2000 rpm even with brake on as firm as possible. *tr

I filled up my gas tank with fuel and as i was merging onto the highway, the car stalled. it continued to stall for about 50 miles. now every time i fill up my tank it will stall on me until i drive about 30-50 miles and the tank is no longer full. it is very dangerous and i cant let my wife or family drive it for fear of stalling and having an accident. *tr

When i fill up my gas tank fuel always spits out after the pump shuts off. it does it at every filling station i have used. it is like the tank is burping. *js

Since the truck was new it would spew gas from the filler tube after the fuel pump shuts off. there is an extended warranty on the fuel tank inlet check valve. even though my problem is exactly what is described, because my vin number search doesnt show my truck as being invlolved in the problem, dodge will not fix the check valve.

Every time i fill the tank with gas the gas blows out.of the filler. this problem has persisted since the truck was new.
