I had an accident related to the driver's side grab handle. i never usually use it to get into the truck, but decided to use it on june 7th, 2017. the truck is hardly ever driven and in very, very good condition. the grab handle was not loose in any way prior to the accident and had never been worked on or replaced. when i grabbed the handle to pull myself into the truck, which was stationary and parked in a driveway, the whole panel ripped right off and sent me falling hard to the asphalt driveway. i fell about 3 feet. by the way, i only weigh about 120 lbs. the fall caused me to break my left hip. i laid in the driveway screaming in excruciating pain and for help until someone found me. an ambulance transported me to a hospital. i had a partial hip replacement due to the hip fracture. upon inspection, it looked like the panel/grab handle was secured into the body of the truck by plastic discs and clips! i was shocked and assumed something like that would've been secured by a more sturdy material. this accident has been physically and financially devastating for me.

Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated that the area on the dashboard where the air bag deployed was warped. the dealer diagnosed that the warped area was due to the humidity. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v352000 (air bags); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the failure mileage was 324,000. vin tool confirms parts not available.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. while the vehicle was at a repair shop, the technician informed the contact that there was corrosion on the rear driver side wheel well. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was approximately 98,000.

Approx. in 2012 i filed a complaint that the rear pinion gear had snapped on my truck. the dealership recommended installing a new / used rear end. i had the used rear end installed. on 5-7-2015 while on the highway the axle on the rear end abruptly broke. this occurred at approx. 60 mph. almost causing a catastrophe. the wheel broke away as well as the brake caliper, thus loosing my brakes. as a result damage to the body also occurred. as i said i did file a previous complaint but was told that even though there is a recall on the rear ends on some of these models mine was not one. i paid the $2,500 or so to have that resolved. i feel this shouldn't have ever happened as this vehicle let alone twice. as of now my vehicle is awaiting a inspection from the dealership as well as insurance.

I was on my way to work when i crashed into a dump truck and my car was pretty much totalled the accident was horrible and the air bag did not deployed. i constantly suffer back pain and although i was told by the hospital to get the treatment i lost my job due to the pain i get plus i did not have any transportation. and now i see that there is a recall for this vehicle for the air bag.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated that there was rust and corrosion under the carriage, the front frame, the rear frame, near the axles, the rear end springs, and the tie rods. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

I noticed the paint puckering above the rear wheel well on the driver side last fall. over the winter, the puckers gave way and severe rusting is visible the full length of the wheel well from the base to about 6 inches above the wheel well. today i noticed the same thing happening on the passenger side. i have been informed that the metal has rusted out and both side inner and outer panels need to be replaced. the truck is kept clean and waxed, and has not been submerged in water nor exposed to salt water as it is used to commute on inland interstate highways almost exclusively. i noticed that other owners of this vehicle are having similar issues with the paint in this area. is this a defect in the metal, paint, or welds that cause this problem. . *tr

Dodge rams have a big rust problem. right over the wheels on both sides of the truck (wheel wells) they rust horribly because of them making a lip on the inside that holds water and debrit and erode the wheel well which eventually brakes apart. this is a problem with all dodge trucks from 2003- 2008. there are hundreds of these incidents reported. the cost to repair is horrible for a person to pay also. this is a factory defect. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. while parked the contact noticed rust on the rear driver and passenger side wheel wells. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosticd. the mechanic stated the wheel well could be replaced with a metal panel. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated they would not assist because the warranty had expired. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 85,000.

No air from ac vents - defective design of recirculating door. *tr

While driving my 2006 dodge 1500 megacab truck at 70 mph, the truck started shaking violently and out of control. i held it as straight as i could and applied the brakes. the shaking finally stopped at about 20 mph. this was especially dangerous, because it was in the fast lane of traffic during rush hour. i later read some forums on the internet that labeled this problem the "death wobble." it appears, from the many experiences described on the forums, that this is a common problem with dodge. *tr

2006 dodge ram 1500 passable frame damage possible body and transmission damage. buyer beware. they repoed this truck and pulled it backwards and it in 4 wheel drive then they used a roll back to pick up the truck under the back door. then they set it on its nose to move it up on the roll back. this truck may have several problems that you can not see just by looking. *tr

The problem started in 2009. went to drive the truck and could not get the truck to drive over 20 mph. was able to get it to a dealer close by and had to have the throttle body positioning sensor replaced. since that date i have had to have this same sensor changed 8 more times. each time the private mechanic talks to chrysler and they recognize there is a faulty problem with this part and will not recall the item. when this sensor goes out it will not let you drive more than about 20mph. also had to replace the accelerated pedal positioning sensor 4 times. blinker problems noted by many other consumers i have also had. where you turn on the left blinker and the right blinker comes on. as well as the a/c problem many consumers have mentioned the door breaks and then all you have is outside air coming in. my mechanic has tried to get replacement parts from chrysler to repair the problem and chrysler does not sell this part (please explain to me how they can make the vehicle and not sell the part to repair it when it breaks knowing it breaks often). tie rods have also been a problem with my truck. no matter how tight they are they continue to come loose even after being replaced and then the truck will shake. my main concern at this point is it intermittently will die while driving down the highway. it will start right back up but will die again and then it wont duplicate the problem for 2 or 3 days and then will do it again. have not been able to diagnose this problem yet. if anyone knows any suggestions to look at please advise. *js
