Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. while driving, the strap that held the fuel tank fractured. as a result, another motorist informed the contact that the fuel tank was dragging on the ground, leaking, and damaged. zeigler chrysler dodge jeep of downers grove (2311 ogden ave, downers grove, il 60515, (630) 241-5500) stated that there was no recall on the vehicle. the dealer quoted a repair cost of over $1,000. the contact stated that an independent mechanic would repair the vehicle. the manufacturer was contacted and ordered a fuel tank on back order. the failure mileage was 222,000.
I have a 2006 dodge ram 1500 that has developed a leak in the gas tank. after doing some research, there are so many owners who are having to replace these tanks that the price has skyrocketed and i cant get one for over a month. this is a safety issue and dodge should be required to replace these for free. it is going to cost me well over $1,000.
When coming to a stop or turning the engine shuts off. no power steering or brakes when this happens. also shuts of when slowing down to turns. no check engine light and no diagnostic codes. dealer has had the vehicle for over 2 weeks now. it has died at least 15 times in the last 4 months. i almost hit a vehicle and curbs.
Filler port replacement for 2006 dodge 1500 not being recalled although 2007/2008 were (please see recall number x49 and x53). vehicle stalled on low idle and during turns. my dodge truck stalled while making turn in a busy intersection and almost create an accident..after researching the web, i found out that it's a common problem and some models are being recalled per x49 and x53.
The vehicle was, in motion, on city streets or and highways, accelerating, turning, braking, etc., the fault or problem that created the unsafe condition to be fuel/propulsion system-includes systems that manage energy to power the vehicle such as fuel tanks, pumps, injectors, filters, pipes/lines and hoses for gasoline and diesel vehicles, and for electric, hybrid, hydrogen, lpn/natural gas or other alternative power vehicles including high voltage batteries and energy storage devices, controls, safety disconnects, pressure relief valves, and other safety related devices that may present a safety hazard the component parts or system that i believe may be the cause of the safety risk. after my best assessment of the incident and cause in my description. the vehicle was taken to two known mechanics for an estimate, and an auto service for a computerised diagnosis. i have other information - repair invoices, diagnosis reports, police accident reports, insurance claim forms, etc. - i can not scan them electronically and upload them along with my complaint at this time. the wheels were not properly assessed or replaced according to standards later causing our accident and injuries. this complaint is also about the recalls. the recalls are air bags: passenger side frontal issued march 27, 2017 recall id 275880, air bags: frontal: driver side inflator module issued june 8, 2015 recall id 275947, and electrical system: ignition: switch issued march 27, 2015 recall id 242136.
Fuel tank is cracked and leaks fuel. i took the vehicle to my mechanic for repairs. my mechanic ordered a new fuel tank from the local dodge dealer. the dodge dealer reports the tank is on back order due to 59 fuel tanks on order for the same problem, that is cracked fuel tanks on dodge pickups.
I have tried on many times too arrigo dodge in west palm beach ,florida too complete the safety recall .they have refused too address the issues with this truck . i have complained to the dodge motor division more times than a few ,they turn a blind-eye to the dealership . this truck was a lemon from the show-room floor ,i have replaced the computer , emissions system ,fuel injection system , wiring harness , and many more repairs .the brake system is very dangerous ,someone is going too get a serious injury from this issue. the truck also suffers from sudden acceleration , at any given time . i have called the chrysler rep countless times , and they have a care less attitude ,i voiced my opinion on the chat line ,and...they were quite amused at the possibility of a crash or injury . i want a complete investigation of the dealership ,the factory , and bring in the department of justice on these criminal activities ! please do something soon , this is a matter of life and death !
When you fill up the gas tank gas shoots out the filler hole. its not like normal vehicle when the gas handle clicks and stops. on my dodge ram, the gas nozzle stops but as soon as it does gas come pouring out my filler hole. this is got to be a safety issue. if you search the internet im the only one with this problem.
After filling gas tank in truck in the process of turning out of the parking lot on to a busy road the truck stalled out and would not start. since then i have learned that in order to prevent this from happening anytime after filling the truck in the first few miles after driving if o plan to cove to a stop i must change gears in to neutral and rev the engine above 1500 rpm to keep it from dying. i feel that this is a serious safety issue with the risk of being run in to if the truck stalls turning on top a road.
When filling gas tank after the gas pump handle clicks shut to stop flow from the hose the gas from the tank comes back through the fill line and pours out over the side of the truck, approximately 1 pint so it is quite a spill. this happens at every gas station, i use gasoline with 10% ethanol gas, and if i stop the gas flow from the hose manually it also happens.
Every time i fill fuel tank the engine starts stalling for up to and hour after. it now if it has more than a half of a tank, it not only stalls, but pushes raw gasoline out of the evap canaster. the truck is not safe to drive. the problem appears to be the same problem that chrysler has had with chrysler 300. it is malfunctioning shut off float that is allowing fuel to enter purge line. the float is part of the fuel tank and can only be fixed by replacing the $750.00 fuel tank. *tr
