2006 dodge ram mega cab-32000 miles. multi-function switch does not work properly. left turn signal activates when signalling right or vice versa. windshield wipers do not always turn on causing hazardous and unsafe driving conditions in inclimate weather. multi-function switch has been replaced three times already. dealer advised dodge was aware of the problem but was not responsible since a recall had not been mandated. complaint filed with chrysler customer care over issue of responsibility and knowingly replacing defective parts with known defective parts. the issue has not been resolved to this date. *tr

2006 dodge ram 1500. original recall nhtsa campaign number: 07v038000 suspension: front: wheel bearing in 2007, chrysler stated that recall work was completed on defective wheel bearing. on may 10, 2011 the wheel bearing failed again, due either to defective manufacturing or improper repair. this is a major safety concern that could result in loss of vehicle control and crash. it did no good for chrysler to replace defective parts in a recall with another defective part that was going to fail. this defect should be considered another safety recall. *tr

This is a complaint about a malfunctioning blinker in my 2006 dodge 1500 ram truck. i have been reading that there are numerous complaints about this happening. the blinker starts going left when you have it to turn right and vice versa. it's crazy and so dangerous! i took my truck in to see about getting it fixed and of course the warranty went out yesterday! i hope for others sake that this becomes a recall item! thank you *tr

I tried to get the scissors jack from under the passenger seat. the handled screw that screws it to the floor would not turn and the jack couldn't be removed. i tried to clean the threads that protrude through the truck's floor, to no avail (fine threads). after removing it later with pliers, i ran a thread die over it, reinstalled it, and painted it. *tr

2006 dodge ram 1500,steering wheel shakes & truck pulls when brakes applied. brakes back & front changed rotors & pads. same condition. this condition was reported june 15/07 7 tie rod ends changed & brakes. the second set of brakes have been installed checked tie rods defective & sloppy on second set. vehicle has 71727 km`s & dodge will not change tie rod ends saying truck is out of warranty period. checking used 2006 to 2008 dodge rams have had tie rods changed. suspect chrysler dodge does not want to advertise this defect with recall because after tie rods changed alignment is required. *tr

On 2-12-2007 nhtsa issue a recall on 2006 dodge 1500,for the front hub suspension:wheel bearing.i was notified of the recall from the dodge dealership where i purchased my truck. so i was unaware of the recall. in july of 2009 i was returning from vacation and i was in south carolina and i started having trouble with my truck so i found a mechanic shop, they told that the front hubs were messed up and needed to be replaced, it was late in the afternoon and the mechanic was only able to find one hub so he replaced the worst one of the two and told me that the other one would get me home. once i got home i took the truck to my dodge dealership and they replaced the other side and also advised me that the rearend was out of the truck and they repaired that. about two weeks later i find out that there was a recall on the front hub so i call the dealership and they told me that my truck was not one of the vehicle under the recall. i don't understand how my truck was not under the recall when the same thing went wrong with my truck the is listed on the recall. i don't know where else to go with this so please advise me with what direction to take this is not the first problem i have had with dodge. i want to thank you in advance for your assistant. *tr

Front light module failed at 37,122 miles, front lights failed with no advance notice. part was order by the dodge dealer, they didn't have it in stock, 1 and 1/2 month waiting for part and was not covered by warranty. *tr

A recall is definitely in order here for the cabin air blend door breaking, 2006 through 2002 models have had a large number of complaints filed and in 2006 had the most filed yet in 2007 zero complaints filed for this problem , let me explain why. i contacted daimler chrysler filed a complaint and got nowhere, they just don't care about their bad design, or stand behind their product!! i will never buy a product from them again. the air box has an opening with one tab protruding out so when the blend door closes it stops at the tab, well the tab isn't strong enough to receive the impact of the door slamming it and breaks off thus jamming closed or falling off, the engineers at delmar chrysler figured this out and engendered a new box with two tabs so it wont break yet the service dept at the dealers keep replacing the doors and not the entire box (because it's a bigger more expensive job) and that's why some people have had it fixed several times, because they are not fixing it correctly so in turn you then are out of warranty and now it cost the consumer to fix this expensive poorly engineered box that they know is a design flaw.sad, very sad. daimler chrysler put this newly designed box in their 2007 and newer models and have not one complaint, so why wont they recall these bad design boxes and broken blend doors (which are the number one biggest problem with the 2006 trucks) and put their newly engineered boxes-blend doors in the trucks at their expense not the consumer, delmer chrysler knows they have a bad design and still wont own up to it, we the consumer need to flood their phones until they fix this poorly engineered very expensive problem that they created until they recall it. this problem is a safety issue because you cannot control where the air flow is going like the windshield for visibility in foggy or snowy conditions, forced to pul over cant see, thank you in advance for taking the time and effort putting pressure on them to correct their mistake.

The problem started in 2009. went to drive the truck and could not get the truck to drive over 20 mph. was able to get it to a dealer close by and had to have the throttle body positioning sensor replaced. since that date i have had to have this same sensor changed 8 more times. each time the private mechanic talks to chrysler and they recognize there is a faulty problem with this part and will not recall the item. when this sensor goes out it will not let you drive more than about 20mph. also had to replace the accelerated pedal positioning sensor 4 times. blinker problems noted by many other consumers i have also had. where you turn on the left blinker and the right blinker comes on. as well as the a/c problem many consumers have mentioned the door breaks and then all you have is outside air coming in. my mechanic has tried to get replacement parts from chrysler to repair the problem and chrysler does not sell this part (please explain to me how they can make the vehicle and not sell the part to repair it when it breaks knowing it breaks often). tie rods have also been a problem with my truck. no matter how tight they are they continue to come loose even after being replaced and then the truck will shake. my main concern at this point is it intermittently will die while driving down the highway. it will start right back up but will die again and then it wont duplicate the problem for 2 or 3 days and then will do it again. have not been able to diagnose this problem yet. if anyone knows any suggestions to look at please advise. *js

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. the contact heard a grumbling noise and the air conditioner stopped working. the dealer stated that a piece of the air conditioning unit fell into the fans and caused more damage to the unit. the repairs were made under warranty. a year later, the contact heard the exact same noise as before and, shortly after, the air conditioning unit failed. the dealer stated that the repairs could be performed at the estimated cost of $800 because the warranty expired. the failure mileage was 31,000 and current mileage was 52,000.

Bought 2006 dodge ram 1500 new from metro dodge in ottawa. have had numerous front end troubles. brakes,3sets of front shocks, wheel bearings, outer tie rod ends replaced once at 22000km`s. tie rod ends on streeing are defective again. dodge wants to inspect & charge for outer rie rod ends after 42000kms on second set. checking used 2006,2007 & 2008 in dodge dealer lots outer tie rods have been replaced on trucks in lot. i feel dodge is covering up a defective design & part troubles on all 3 years. metro dodge told me to never bring my truck back for service. the service manager denies that these years of trucks have defective front end parts & design. please investigate before a major collision with this vehicle. *tr thank you, steve moore
