Dodge 1500 06 tie rod failures.. about every 30000 miles i am having to replace tie rod ends due to the lack of factory lube points..(no zerk fitting per dealer reason for failure).....the looser it got the harder it is to control at breaking... *tr
Death wobble. we almost died due to the truck violently shaking after hitting a bump in the road. dodge obviously has a defective and very dangerous set up with what ever is making it do that. the problem is this is well known and the federal government must be protecting them. i say the ceo and the retard who designed it go for a ride with me in heavy traffic with their kids in the back seat. i'm just about out of my mind, i am already on my second rear end, and second radiator. i'm bout ready to drive to chrysler hq and put the truck through the front window of it. the truck has to come to a complete stop in order for the shaking to stop. when are you bureaucrats going to get off your ass and do something about it. you have known about this for years.
2006 dodge ram 1500 currently has 63,000 miles. has had the front struts replaced 3 times, motor was replaced, transmission has been replaced, rack and pinion has been replaced, ball joints have been replaced countless times, tie rods have been replaced, wheel bearings have been replaced approx a yr ago and are defective again. currently waiting for them since there on nationwide back order the dealership claims. all of these have been under warranty. but i have spent countless $$$ on tires and having to rent a vehicle while this on is in the garage constantly. *tr

2006 dodge ram 1500,steering wheel shakes & truck pulls when brakes applied. brakes back & front changed rotors & pads. same condition. this condition was reported june 15/07 7 tie rod ends changed & brakes. the second set of brakes have been installed checked tie rods defective & sloppy on second set. vehicle has 71727 km`s & dodge will not change tie rod ends saying truck is out of warranty period. checking used 2006 to 2008 dodge rams have had tie rods changed. suspect chrysler dodge does not want to advertise this defect with recall because after tie rods changed alignment is required. *tr

I am having wheel bearing problems with my truck it is a 2006 dodge ram 1500. i see that you made a recall for the year of my truck and all the problems you stated i am having problems with it. the subsequent noise and vibration out of the front end. i have missed the recall by just about two weeks of the recall of the 2006 dodge ram trucks. my truck was built on oct/11/2005 and the recall started on trucks built on nov/17/2005. i only have 50,000 miles on my truck and i have replaced one and the other one is going out less then 1,000 miles after replacing the one. *dt
On 2/21/2006, i purchased a 2006 dodge ram, 1500, 4x2. recently my truck encountered a front wheel bearing malfunction, when going around left hand curves i would hear a loud "thumping" noise. in doing some research on automobile recalls, i foung manf. compaign # g02 and nhtsa campaign # 07v038000 has recalled 2006 dodge ram pickup trucks for "suspension; front; wheel bearing, the summary of the recall reads "on certain p/u trucks, the front wheel bearings may have received an insufficent quantity oof grease during the manufacturing process, but only those that were built between 11/7/05 and 4/27/06, my truck was built on 10/1/05 (5 weeks prior to the recall.) currently, i have owned my truck for 46 mos. however it only has 21,800 miles, back on 9/10/08 i had taken it to the dealership account of frontend viberation, their determination was tie-rod ends and they replaced them under warranty.in contacting chrysler, they said they would replace the bearing if i would pay a $50.00 co-pay, which i did and they made the repairs. the dealership said that they could not tell if the malfunction was due to lack of grease account of the bearing being a "sealed unit". i find it very odd that this malfunction has happeneedwith only this few miles and is not included in the recall, i am also wondering if any other dodge customers have had the same problem and also wondering if the recall should not include dates prior to and/or after the original recall dates. thank you for your time in this matter. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. while driving approximately 40 mph the vehicle exhibited a grinding noise and then began to vibrate. the front passenger brake pads were replaced. however, the front passenger right wheel bearing was defective. the vehicle identification number was excluded from recall campaign 07v038000(suspension:front:wheel bearing) . the failure mileage was 71,000. the vin was unavailable.
While driving my 2006 dodge 1500 megacab truck at 70 mph, the truck started shaking violently and out of control. i held it as straight as i could and applied the brakes. the shaking finally stopped at about 20 mph. this was especially dangerous, because it was in the fast lane of traffic during rush hour. i later read some forums on the internet that labeled this problem the "death wobble." it appears, from the many experiences described on the forums, that this is a common problem with dodge. *tr
I have a 2006 dodge ram 1500 and it has problems with the front wheel bearing the nhtsa report a recall for this vehicle on feb 06, 2007 # g02 and campaign # 07v038000, the problem is that my vehicle apparently is not included at this recall and the problem persist thanks for your help angel maldonado montalvo contact in spanish. *tr
The pickup shakes violently when hitting a bump at speed from 60 -75. very dangerous. *tr
Had vehicle aligned due to the front end bouncing. tie rod was replaced and vehicle had a vibration and popping noise from the front end after that. today i took it to the shop and they said the wheel bearing is worn beyond safe conditions. my vin did not fall under the current recall but i seem to be having the same problem with my vehicle and my family has been put at risk with this vehicle problem. i have new parts being put on today which is going will be paid out of pocket again. i have driven with this vibration for some time now not even aware that it could possibly be under a recall. a fault this serious could cause death and injury to my family and someone else's. *tr

On 2-12-2007 nhtsa issue a recall on 2006 dodge 1500,for the front hub suspension:wheel bearing.i was notified of the recall from the dodge dealership where i purchased my truck. so i was unaware of the recall. in july of 2009 i was returning from vacation and i was in south carolina and i started having trouble with my truck so i found a mechanic shop, they told that the front hubs were messed up and needed to be replaced, it was late in the afternoon and the mechanic was only able to find one hub so he replaced the worst one of the two and told me that the other one would get me home. once i got home i took the truck to my dodge dealership and they replaced the other side and also advised me that the rearend was out of the truck and they repaired that. about two weeks later i find out that there was a recall on the front hub so i call the dealership and they told me that my truck was not one of the vehicle under the recall. i don't understand how my truck was not under the recall when the same thing went wrong with my truck the is listed on the recall. i don't know where else to go with this so please advise me with what direction to take this is not the first problem i have had with dodge. i want to thank you in advance for your assistant. *tr

2006 dodge ram 1500 quad cab, i purchased and have had numerous problems from the start. the transmission engages in such a way as to cause my body to move forward then back, i took it back to the dealership on three occasions, they changed the fluid and put in two new filters, still same problem, i was told by the mechanic of 22 years that's the new transmission feature to keep it from wearing out, it only engages when you stomp on the gas??? 30000 miles started leaking black fluid at front wheel, took to dealership, said suspension was gone, part has been on back order since august 2008 it is now feb. 2009 and no expected arrival date of the part. my tires have worn out completely due to this issue, after continually calling the dealership and complaining they are installing an oem suspension part and will give me one free tire.. waahoo, what about the other 3? *tr

Bought 2006 dodge ram 1500 slt june 2006 100 miles on it on way home brakes pulled sharpley. glendale,ca dodge replaced brake rotors, pads, & calipers@500 miles, due to leaking...front end has been messed up since...vibrates at various speeds, so badly at times feels like front end is going to shake off...front right tire feels like it's warped at times, pulsing in brake pedal when braking, not always, have taken it in to dealer various times they claim nothing wrong...dealer replaced drive shaft last visit, 07/2007, with 20,000 miles...no change....additionally, transmission feels like it's slipping at times and at 60 mph, on level road, transmission feels like it's in to high of a gear, if i was driving a manuel i'd shift down at least 1 gear, at times the vehicle shakes with acceleration, the dealer states, you guessed it, there's no problem..i do not even like driving the truck on the fwy...finally, truck jumps whenever you hit a bump, suspension feels loose, like the shocks are blown, any uneven surface makes the truck unstable.. to say i am frustrated is an understatement!!! the incident dates are various i have been dealing with this for a year!!*jb
I own a 2006 dodge ram 1500 regular cab tr4 4x4 v with a 4.7l engine. the problem dealt with routine failure of the front shocks. the front shocks installed on these dodge failed routinely, they leaked oil, and became worthless. this was the second failure on the pickup. the first failure occurred with less than 3000 miles on the truck, and now again with 15,000 miles on the truck. i contacted a dealer, and they stated that this was a known manufacture defect with these shocks, and they were on back order. also, i verified this information with other owners online, at http://www.dodgetalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=151075. the trucks were being driven daily, bouncing around on the road unsafely, and no timely solution has been delivered by dodge. this was unacceptable! *ak

I am curious to the concern that i should have about my 2006 dodge. i have had 3 recalls on my vehicle since its purchase. one for airbag issues, one for a seat belts, and the most recent one for ball bearing issues that could allow the front wheels to become loose and fall off of the vehicle. all of these are life changing events if they happen. how many recalls can one vehicle have?*ak

Suspension/brakes: front end wheel bearing vibration/rubbing noise. replaced several sets of worn tires after spending $189.00 through firestone for lifetime alignments/tire balance/rotations the constant rubbing vibration noise have not alleviated. brake rotors warped & replaced because of the issue with the pitman arm & front wheel bearings. chrysler recall campaigns f05, g02, n62, nhtsa campaign 13v528000, 10e040000, 10e013000, 07v038000, 06v038000. front wheel bearings still noisy, front end vibration still present & alignments constantly necessary. service bulletins 08-004, 41, & 1900805 related to suspension steering part of this issue. electrical: ignition key locking up & unable to turn the key to start the vehicle. had to forcibly turn or wiggle the steering wheel, which is locked, in order to get the key to turn. numerous occasions had to leave the vehicle & return in the future to attempt to turn the ignition key. turn signal (service bulletin 08-002-12) flashes & intermittent wipers operate incorrectly. sudden flashing back & forth of signals has almost caused car crashes on numerous occasions. intermittent wipers stop suddenly at mid windshield point obstructing view. both operated from the same left handle. cruise control surges constantly when engaged. numerous occasions surged suddenly on a hill or bridge almost causing loss of control. tachometer shows anywhere from 0 to 250 rpm when stopped & has caused stalling of the engine. operating the vehicle at speed (55mpm for instance), it only shows 1000rpm. during the period of ownership had to replace 3 batteries. this seems excessive for the age of the vehicle. therefore, considering all the electrical related issues there must be a defect since all of these problems still exist. service bulletin 5015 related to electrical systems are also parts of this issue.
Brought vehicle home from dealer with heavy vibration at 65 mph. took vehicle to dealer, which couldn't balance tires, they sent them to a tire store. tires were balanced, vibration better but still there. took vehicle to another tire store where one tire was replaced and other 3 tires balanced again. vibration much better, but still notice slight shake and vibration starting at 57-60 mph. feels like a wobble, feel it in the seat and steering wheel. dealer says that tires can't be balanced beyond 55 mph. finding other instances of this on websites for 2006 rams. doesn't feel like road feel from tight suspension, feels like something is loose in wheel assembly or tires are still not perfect. could be driveshaft. *jb
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. while driving 40 mph and attempting to apply the brakes the front end of the vehicle began shaking until it came to a complete stop. the dealer stated that the failure was due to the front end suspension and brakes. the dealer was unable to repair the vehicle since the the parts were unavailable. the contact received recall notice #g02. the current and failure mileage were 15000.*ak
My truck was included in recall: nhtsa campaign id number : 07v038000 which states: remedy: dealers will replace the front hub and bearing units... however, when the dealership performed the recall (daimler chrysler recall no. g02) they listed no replacement parts related to wheel bearings, it appears they merely added more lube to the bearing housings. searching dodge's recall database for my vin now shows that recall completed. did nhtsa leave it to the dealers discretion to decide if they wanted to replace the front hub and bearing units vs. just put a bit more grease in them? or did nhtsa direct them to replace the hubs? *jb
Tl*-the contact stated that while driving the 2006 dodge ram 1500 on a cold day at about 8:00 am at 35 mph on an incline he applied the brakes to avoid hitting a cat and lost control of the vehicle which started fishtailing. the vehicle began to skid across to the opposite side of the road. the vehicle flipped over on the high way and landed on the passenger side. the driver got out of the vehicle safely, but the passenger was injured. the tire assembl completely come apart. he squestioned the insurance company about the way the tire came apart. the insurance company stated that the vehicle was destroyed. on 4/9/07 he received a recall l campaign# 07v038000 for suspension: front: wheel bearing. the contact felt that this was the cause of the crash. *ak
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge 1500. while driving 55 mph the vehicle hit a separation in the road and the passenger rear tire went into the next lane causing the contact to temporarily lose control of the vehicle. the contact regained control of the vehicle and proceeded to drive. the dealer was unable to diagnose the failure. the vehicle has not been repaired. the failure mileage was 23,500, and the current mileage was 25,000. *ak the consumer stated the rear suspension locked up for the 4th time. the consumer and passenger were injured. updated 03/30/07. *jb
Vibration felt through the steering wheel during slow left turns, such as driveways and parking lot. vehicle has 15,000 miles on it now and this has happened since day one. dealer has had vehicle twice, first time replaced wheel bearings, second time the said dodge was aware of the problem but did not have a fix. *tr
My rear axle when out. i leased a 2006 dodge ram i took it to the dealer ship and complaint about a clicking noise in the rear of the car. they told me it was the front axles. the problem continue when i would try to turn a corner the back end would not turn. now one of my rear tires is worn out and they said that their a problem with the axles but there is no way i could have cause this problem . several chat site have had discussion on this same problem. *tr
The vehicle has a vibration mainly between the speeds of 55 to 60 mph. however i have noticed the vibrations at other speeds as well. the vibration is significant enough to shake the vehicle occupants. the first visit to the service department i was told one wheel was found out of balance and the problem was remedied. on the way home the vibration was still present. i immediately called the service department and brought the vehicle back. the service manager rode with me and indeed acknowledged there was a problem. during this second visit it was determined all 4 tires were not within acceptable limits and replaced. (mind you the tires only had approximately 1600 miles.) after driving with the new tires for a few days the vibration still persists. i took the vehicle in for a third visit to the service department, however the service manager could not duplicate the problem and i was sent on my way with no attempted remedy. i have been researching the problem, and have found nearly 40 other consumers complaining of the same vibration on their 2006 dodge rams. they have also not had any success at fixing the problem after as many as five visits to their respective service departments. *nm
Massive vibration at speeds of 80 km-100 km in the rear of the truck, left side of box shakes over all bumps. replaced 3 tires , vibration still there . *jb

Dt*: the contact stated while driving straight and at more than 40mph the vehicle veered toward the left or right. while attempting to straighten the vehicle it veered toward the opposite direction. the vehicle was taken to multiple dealerships on six different occasions. although, the vehicle alignment was readjusted four times the problem still continued. the manufacturer was alerted. ak
