Ventilation no longer will change from top vent to lower vent. *tr
Driving at approximately 35 mph one of the defroster vents broke and fell into the ductwork. later that day noticed the dash had cracked. as this problem has just started on my truck i have seen from other dodge rams where this will progress and the dash will fall in, damaging wires and circuits. this is a potential fire hazard as well as possibly causing systems such as headlights, etc. to stop working when needed most. dodge informed me that if they looked at the dash, and i decided not to pay to fix the dash, they would charge me $85 for their time. that is not acceptable on so many levels. dodge should be forced to do something about this. *tr
The blend door on the 2005 dodge ram goes bad easily. when this happens the ac/ and heater re-circulation is damaged. this causes visibility issues. this is a very common issue. i'm surprised this has not been recalled yet or even looked into. *tr

Broken blend door in heating plenum causing loss of defroster use. a major safety hazard in cold weather. in searching the web it appears to be a common problem. *tr
The volume of air coming from my defroster is inadequate to keep the windshield clear from fog and frost. i have read several on line articles about this problem and it seems quite a few people are having the same issue. i live in california and could only imagine how someone living in a colder climate is dealing with this problem. this definitely can cause an unsafe condition by hampering your vision while driving. *tr
The turn signal/wiper/lights assembly appears to have failed. when attempting to make a right turn signal, nothing happens. when making a left turn signal, the right signal happens instead. now, everything has failed. no brights, no turn signals, no wipers. researching on the internet, especially on the dodge truck forums, it seems to e quite a common problem. in fact that is where i got the link to this form to fill out. *kb
Intermittent windshield wiper function, also intermittent blinker and lighting function. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 dodge ram 1500. while driving approximately 35 mph, the contact noticed that the defroster was not functioning. the contact stated there was no air flowing through the vents on the dashboard to defrost the windshield. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostics where the technician was unable to diagnose the failure and suggested removing the dashboard to locate the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the vin was not available. the approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
When i turn on my left turn signal my right turn signal blinks. some times my wipers won't come on or stop running. i am told that the multifunction switch needs to be replaced. this is definitely a safety issue.
My windshield wipers do not work properly - i only turn them on in the rain, in western washington state. i turn wipers on, and have to pull over because they will not work, and i cannot see. this happens daily because of the amount of rain. *tr
2005 dodge ram 1500 quad cab. the blinkers don't operate properly, they blink on both sides whenever they want and now the wiper blades work inconsistently. this has been going on since september, 2010, approximately 4 months. need to replace the blinker handle on steering column. *tr

Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) i was driving my 2005 dodge 1500 truck in rain, wipers just stop working, then after a few minutes would start working again. it did not cause accident ,but could have if raining harder. now i don't want my spouse driving the truck with my little girl. the dealer says no recall on 2005,but there is a wiper recall on 2009. the dealer also said they have seen the problem many, many times, and have parts in stock to repair, but i will have to pay for repair. i've contacted chrysler and have a complaint [xxx] , all they told me was to have it repaired and keep invoice in case a recall is issued so i can be reimbursed. this is not acceptable to me. seems like someone has to die to get something done. thank you *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated that the windshield wipers would not function. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who advised that water was leaking into the wiper motor causing it to freeze and become inoperable. the mechanic informed the contact there was a recall under nhtsa campaign id number: 09e009000 (visibility: windshield wiper/washer) but the contact was advised by the manufacturer that her vehicle was not included in the recall. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 32,000.
A very dangerous problem with my 2005 dodge ram 1500 pick-up is occurring on a daily basis when i use the turn signal - windshield wiper - high beam " multi-switch". when trying to signal a left turn by pushing down on the "multi-switch" lever(left turn signal flashes two or three times then right turn signal activates uncommanded) if i try to engage the right turn signal some times it won't signal / flash at all. my truck only has 46,000 miles on it, not a good testimate for dodge. i read in a dodge repair website / forum that a lot of the same problems are occurring with the dodge ram pick-ups and mini vans. (all years) is there a recall or will a recall be considered in the near future? *tr
I have a 2005 dodge ram 1500. the windshield wipers work incorrectly. they may work fine or they may stop half way and quit, or not even work at all! i had the same issue with my old 1997 chevy s-10 truck, and it was fixed under a recall. my dodge has the exact same issue. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated the right turn signal failed. in addition, the windshield wipers would also fail intermittently and when operating the wipers, the hazard lights would not engage. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed either the multifunction switch had failed or the wiring within the steering column was fractured. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 30,000 and the current mileage was 36,500.
When heading to work, was going approximately 70 mph on the interstate when i looked in sideview mirror and saw smoke coming from my vehicle. at that same time, i heard a loud roaring noise for a few seconds, then my driver's side wheel came off. the wheel crossed over into the east-bound lane of the interstate (i was heading west), and the brake calipers broke off. even though my brakes and tire were gone, i was able to get my vehicle to the side of the interstate without causing injury to myself or others. all this also caused body damage to the front quarter panel of my truck, making it difficult to open and close the driver's side door. i retrieved my tire and had a tow truck take my vehicle to the local dodge dealership where i purchased the truck. they advised me they had never heard of this happening before. i've now been informed the repairs consist of replacing the hub, spindle, brake caliper, rotor, brake line, brake pads, and a new tire (the other tire blew out) at a cost of $2000. i have requested the old parts be given to me in case this issue needs to proceed with an investigation. i have done research that revealed the 2006 dodge ram trucks were recalled for this exact same problem (wheel bearing assemblies not receiving enough lubrication at the factory causing them to lock up and cause crashes). but since my vehicle is a 2005, dodge refuses to acknowledge responsibility. *tr
My 2005 dodge ram has an air duct flapper that broke and fell into the fan. know my defrost does not work. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2005 dodge ram 1500 quadcab lwb. while driving 65 mph in below zero temperatures, the pvc return system causes the vehicle to squirt oil into the engine. as a result, the defrost system becomes clogged and fails. the windows were unable to defrost and left oil residue on the windshield. the failure has caused severe eye burnings, stomach pains, and choking of the occupants. the manufacturer stated that there was no mechanical failure and no parts available. they were unable to determine and correct the failure. when the parts arrive, the repair will cost $400. the manufacturer also advised the contact to drive in temperatures above zero degrees. the failure and current mileages were 70,050.
About 1:00 pm on september 26th i opened the front drivers side door on my 2005 dodge ram 1500 5.7 hemi, swb quadcab laramie to look fro some papers. the outside temperature that day was abut 80 degrees. i then pressed the unlock door button to release the lock on the rear drivers side door. i closed the drivers side front door and then opened to drivers side rear door. after looking for some papers i closed the rear drivers side door. at the exact instance the door closed i heard a moderate popping noise. i looked into the truck bed and saw tinted glass and realized that the rear window had popped out. the passenger side of the rear window had shattered into many pieces. i contacted the dealer where i had purchased the vehicle and they had me to bring the vehicle in so that they could take pictures and to send to chrysler for determination if the window would be covered under mfr's vehicle warranty. i took the vehicle in on september 27th. awaiting an answer. *nm
My air condition won't switch to defrost creating a safety hazard. dodge is aware of the problem but acted like they never heard of it before. i brought it there 3 times to fix and the problem was never fixed. 2005 dodge ram 1500. *tr
