Driving my 2004 dodge ram 1500 truck; in the last six months i had two blowouts and two flat tires on tires that have less than 10,000 miles. the tires are manufactured by nitto. i contacted the corporate office and they explained that there is no recall on the tires and i should made certain there was proper tire pressure. (there was) i either repaired or replaced the tires. my concern is safety. is there a recall on nitto tires? *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2004 dodge ram 1500 equipped with general ameritrac tires, size: p265/70/r17. the contact stated that while inspecting the vehicle, he noticed that the tread on both rear tires had become separated. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer. the failure mileage was 107,000. updated 06/17/14 ma

Felt the rear end come up off the ground and a loud bang. spare tire had come loose from under vehicle. lucky no one was behind me or could have been bad. rim is bent and unusable now. it is held up by a small gauge wire and will eventually fray and break loose. *tr

While driving the spare tire which is suspended under the vehicle fell to the ground. the metal bracket that passes through the center of the spare tire to suspend it rusted where it connects to the suspension cable causing the tire to fall to the ground. fortunately i was driving slowly through a shopping plaza and there was no vehicles behind me. if i had been driving at highway speeds it could have caused an accident for anyone behind me. very unsafe design. i mention what occurred to my neighbor who has a similar dodge ram and he informed me that the same thing had occurred to his vehicle. he too was fortunate that the spare tire fell in the driveway of his home. in looking on the internet, numerous forums report the same safety issue. please investigate and discuss the safety issue with dodge before anyone gets hurt. thanks. *tr

This is my 3rd tire in as many months that have cracked and have had to be replaced. all 3 have been within 2000 miles of having the new tires. *tr

I had purchase 4 tires and only had traveled 5,000 miles . the company i bought them from did not tell me the warranty on the tires until one of them the belt separated i purchase them march 08 and in sept 09 is when it happened. i took it back to the company and they informed me that they only had a year warranty on the tires. they told me that i would have to purchase another one which this was a manufacture defect in the tire. and they told me that they would get with the supplier and see if they could get me credit on the tire. still not hearing anything about the tire i had another one to separate on 12-19-09. i went and had all the tires and rims taking off of my truck and purchase new rims and tires from a different place and then i went back to the company where i had purchase the defective tires and showed them again that another separated he then wanted to get it and let the supplier see it and i told him not until i hear anything about the first one that he had sent back. he has had the 1st tire for almost 4 months and now he wants the rest i think not. i want a total refund of all my tires but he is talking about tread wear credit. they should not go by that since those tires are defective. dotu865 ns all-sport performance x/p. nankang 792 0507 h5. *tr

Goodyear wrangler hp p275/60r20 within the 50,000 miles that are on my 2004 dodge ran 1500 quad cab truck i have gone threw 2 sets of these tires they have a major early wear problem for starters. but worst of all around 25,000 miles the tread separates on the 1st set the tread didn't come all the way off the truck just bounced me into the ditch the 1st one that went was in the front and i was on the highway. when it happens in that case the truck becomes uncontrollable. after i replaced it happened to 2 more shortly after. now i am on the 2nd set they have 25,881 miles on them yes that's it and the tread completely came off of 1 and another is about to do the same. they also have a major problem with early wear. the thing that really gets me is when i called goodyear the 1st time i was told my warranty was up after a year no ifs ands or buts about they wouldn't do anything about it. the same thing was said to me today when i called about the second set. apparently jodi from goodyear corp. office didn't know i was at a garage location earlier and found to have a 50,000 mile warranty. o_o_o_o_o i'm sorry mr. wolfe that tire does have a 50,000 mile warranty. i can drive anything with a motor and anything that drives without a motor when they go on the highway trust me there is nothing you can do about it. my father also bought the same truck as me with the 20 in wheels and is having the same problem. it is just a matter of time before people start dyeing on the highways just like firestone and goodyear wont do anything for those of us who have them. god bless. jw *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2004 dodge 1500 with michelin lt xas . the tire size is 245/75r/17. the dot number is n3x6fndx4903. during vehicle inspection, she noticed that the side walls were cracked on all four tires. the dealer was notified but no assistance was provided. the tire manufacturer was contacted and she was advised that the failure was caused by armor inserted on the tires. they also stated that they will sell her a new set of tires for 500.00 dollars. she was in the process of purchasing a new set of tires. the failure mileage was 23000. the current mileage was 30000.

I was driving my truck when i had a flat tire and was stranded. i put my spare tire on and drover to my house. i then had a inspection of the tires to find the front tires were showing signs of underinflation and wear on the outer edges. the rear tires including the one that went flat were showing signs of overinflation, wear in the middle of the tire. i called daimler chrysler customer support on two occasions(case #14711417) and informed them that the tire inflation label in the door jam on the driver side of the vehicle, the same on the dealer and handbook refer you for quick reference. it stated the vehicle came with p245/70r17, as per the vehicle information report from the dealer states that the vehicle came with p275/60r20. the p275/60r20 size wheels are currently on the vehicle and came with them from the factory. daimler chrysler does not want to pay for the tires and the vehicle is still under warranty. they state that its goodyears responsibility to replace the tires, when they installed the wrong tire pressures label on the vehicle. *nm

This started out with a tire almost being flat. pumped up the tire at home and took vehicle to a tire shop to be repaired. when the shop took the tire off the truck, they told me the tire is no good, it is leaking through the sidewall. they put my spare on and i went to the goodyear dealer in my town. the goodyear dealer looked at the leak through the sidewall and removed the tire from the rim. there was 2 , 2 inch cuts on the inside of the tire sidewall (1 at the leak) of this tire that he could not explain. he told me a new tire was $180.00 and i asked him to contact goodyear corporate because there is hardly any wear/miles on these tires. he contacted goodyear and 3 days later they said they would replace the tire for $94.00. this tire had 4/32 worn off from it!!! while waiting for goodyear corporate to reply to the local goodyear dealer i took the truck to my local dodge dealer to have them raise the truck on the hoist to check the rest of the tires for a slight bulge on the inner sidewall because of fear of these tires blowing out the sidewall at highway speeds and causing a fatality! they did not see any but before i left they told me to schedule an appointment to get both outer tie rod ends and the left (driver) side lower ball joint replaced! this vehicle was purchased new on 12-31-2003, has 26,600 miles on it and has always been serviced at this dealer.parts and labor were covered by warranty but what is going to fail next?

Two years ago i totaled a dodge ram 1500 srt-10. only days before the wreck that could have taken my life, i purchased new tires for that vehicle. laden with company supplies, the rear end of the vehicle suddenly spun out of control at 65 mph. i flipped 8 times, landing on the roof 3 times and was lucky to walk away. as i mentioned, it has been two years since this accident. why is it now i become, by my own merits, aware of the nhtsa recall affecting that exact issue. the failure of the responsible company to notify me of this document recall, however slight, could have cost me my life. the ensuing financial repercussions from that accident will never be remedied. i was found at fault for the accident and it makes me furious and sad that no one ever mentioned the possibility of my innocence within this information. *tr

Me and my family were returning home from a all day trip in ohio when my right rear tire exploded almost causing a fatal accident. lucky for me it was my rear tire.these tires are defective and need off the market.they are the goodyear wrangler sra 265/70r/17 tires this tire only had 20171 miles and was original on my 2004 dodge quad pickup. how many deaths are and will be the result of this tire?

While driving at 25 mph something in the front end popped followed by the left front tire separating from the truck. when this occurred vehicle sharply pulled to the left and collided with a pole. vehicle was towed to a towing yard, then to a body shop. the body shop or the insurance company couldn't indicate what popped and caused the tire to separate. *ak

Dodge ram 1500 year 2004 purchased brand new on march the vehicle had 22 miles on it when the accident occured it had approx. 10,000 miles. proble defective axle and or rim. note: previous tire blow out rim totaled and repaired that rim was placed on the truck and the tires rotation and that rim went to the left rear axle, tire is lost.

Recall no 04v221000, fmvss 120/certification label: consumer received a recall notice informing him of a change for the tire pressure sticker. the instructions informed the consumer to use a lower tire pressure. this lower tire pressure has caused the tire to rupture at the sidewall due to under inflation.*ak

At less than 300 miles, shifted into 4 wheel drive while doing 65 mph on the interstate. taken to dealership and was told a wire was left loose and wrapped around another part causing the problem. also complained the truck was dying while driving. also told this was a wiring problem. at 19000 the tires needed replaced and at 80000 miles the oil pressure gauge dropped to 0. *nm
