I have received two separate recalls for the air bags in my vehicle. in january i took it to texan dodge in humble, tx. for replacement of the air bags and was told that no parts are available at that time. they promised to call back when parts available. we have checked back several time and still no parts. we received a second recall on may 29, 2015 for the air bags again. we contacted texan dodge in humble, tx and still no parts available. i am beginning to think that the recalls are not worth the paper they are written on as there is little recourse for me as an owner. i guess if the bags blow up and kill me, my family can sue chrysler dodge for my death.

Takata inflatores. i have been trying to schedule an appointment at gulf coast chrysler jeep to have recall p78 and r25 p81 taken care of for more than a year. i have even called 1-877-223-7634 twice and still nothing. the lady who handles the service department told me last year that my name was on page 4 of her file. when i called the above number, that rep called her. again they stated they only had one of the items i needed. however, about a month ago a friend of mine here drove up there on a monday and he was told to bring his identical truck in the next day and his items were fixed!! i'm tired of waiting, i'm tired of being told that they don't have all the parts needed. i was even told that the service department could not order any further inventory until they exhausted what was on hand. i would like to arrange to get these items fixed and soon. if not, then i will start going to the attorney generals office, the bbb and my lawyer. i received another notice in the mail today. how long is considered "within a reasonable time?"

After receiving the recent safety recall notice regarding air bags, i took my 2004 dodge ram 1500 quad cab to southern dodge chrysler jeep ram located in norfolk, va. my vehicle was inspected, and i was informed by a representative that the air bags would need to be replaced. the rep. also stated that the required parts would be ordered, but due to a backlog/shortage, it would be approximately two weeks (minimum) until the required parts arrived. i inquired about having the air bags deactivated as a safety precaution since they meet the criteria to be replaced. the representative stated it would not be possible to deactivate the air bags because doing so would violate federal regulations. i find it highly unacceptable that i now have to drive my vehicle, for the next two weeks (minimum), with a known safety defect. *tr

My mom and i were heading home from church when this man in a pickup ran the stop light and totaled my pickup, my mom had to be taken to the hospital because of a head injury and other injuries. the police came out and no one was ticketed. anyway i got ahold of chrysler and they sent me a letter in the mail stating that since it was not a head on collision they were not responsible. they said that since in was from the side, that it did not matter if the air bag deployed or not. my pickup passenger side air bag did not deploy this is why my 82 year mom was seriously hurt! my question is why are air bags put in vehicles or required if they are not going to work? i don't have the money or the means to hire a lawyer, and i'm without a vehicle and have been for quite awhile. the big 3 auto makers should be held responsible for all of the air bag problems that are going on even if they do not deploy! any help from you folks would be appreciated. p.s. i had to guess on my actual mileage but i know it was over 65,000. i apologize for bothering you folks but i need help.
