Tl* the contact owns a 2001 dodge ram 1500. while accelerating from a stop, the accelerator pedal suddenly became stuck and caused the vehicle to keep accelerating. the vehicle was immediately shut off, but the failure continued once it was restarted. the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. the local dealer (victory dodge, 64 greensburg st, delmont, pa) was notified of the failure. the manufacturer was not notified. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 60,000.

When i go to open the door the lights don't work , and the dashboard on my truck breaks into pieces i need a new one!!

While driving dodge ram truck jammed open throttle began to an unintentional acceleration that caused vehicle to almost crash. a call was made to dodge dealership @ 215 492 8600 however i was informed that my truck did not fall under this recall problem. *tr

I have the same issue as thousands of others with the dash falling apart, this incident happened when the bezel just fell off of the dash onto the steering wheel while traveling down a busy highway. i had to try and steer with one hand while using the other to dislodge the bezel and hold it away from the steering wheel until i could safely pull over to the shoulder of the road. since then my glove box has fallen off along with the drink holder. i am also concerned that if i am involved in an accident where the air bags may be deployed that the passenger side airbag will cause the dash to explode and send plastic schrapnel inside the cab. this could cause serious damage or death for the passenger and\or driver.

Throttle cable frayed and stuck in full throttle, i just about rearended someone going 45 miles an hour *tt

Tl*the contact owns a 2001 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the accelerator pedal became stuck after she depressed it. she depressed the brake pedal but the pedal was stuck. she was able to drive onto the emergency lane and shift into park and turn off the vehicle. the vehicle was inspected by a relative who stated that the gasket from the carburetor became stuck inside the carburetor which caused the failure. the vehicle was repaired. the contact called the manufacturer who offered no assistance. the current and failure mileages were approximately 126,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2001 dodge ram 1500. the contact stated that the vehicle accelerated automatically while driving at speeds of 35 or 70 mph. weather and speed were not factors. also, when she depressed the brake pedal the vehicle continued to roll before it completely stopped. there was safety recall # 06e024000 concerning engine and engine cooling. however, this vehicle was excluded due to the vin. the current mileage is 93,000, and failure mileage was 75,000. *ak the consumer stated that the vehicle surges not only between the speeds of 35 to 75 but also while in park. the consumer stated she understands that the vin was not included in the recall it seems too coincidental that it is exhibiting the same problems. the consumer stated unsafe due to the fact of a possible accident with this defect. updated 07/06/07 *tr

Dt: the contact states when the vehicle is at an idle the engine stalls and suddenly dies. this problem is intermittent in nature and is most common in cold temperatures. he has not taken the vehicle to a dealer for inspection of the problem. he has cleaned the throttle body and replaced the temperature sensor. these repairs have not corrected the problem. no further repairs have been made. *ak

While driving vehicle stalled. vehicle caught on fire. the fire department was called to extinguish the fire. vehicle was towed and totaled by the insurance company. *ak...consumer was concerned that there might be a problem that was nit peculiar to this vehicle but that could be repeated in other daimler chrysler vehicles. if there had been a child or an elderly person as a passenger in the vehicle consumer would not be able to get them out before the flames engulfed the vehicle. *ak

While driving 65 mph cruise control stayed engaged when the brakes were depressed. dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem. *ak.....cruise control would not disengage. pulles off the road, put into neutral and shut off engine. *ak
