The car horn honks non-stop for hours sometimes... then nothing for a week or two. almost had an accident when this horn went off. i read read that many 2007 dodge nitro's have this problem!! they say it could be the horn switch or tipm module (totally integrated power module). started months ago but stopped, as of 11/01/19 it is happening often and i have to disconnect the battery. i heard it could start fire!!
Roof rack rails are loose and cracked. a 'clip/lock type' piece from the front came off while driving on a major highway.
While driving to work on monday morning at 60mph the truck shut down lost all power and can't be restarted almost crashed ..have replaced all the major suspect to find out along with 1000s of others the anti theif device or the wcm is the problem and we as consumers should not have to cover the cost or head aches of getting this resolved.there are more than enough complaints to issue a recall so people can get there trucks bck on the road..

On 3/21/18 i was driving through a major intersection when the battery dash light came on in my truck. i found this to be odd since i had just had a brand-new battery installed on in my truck on 1/8/18, then the following events occurred in rapid succession: all of the dash warning lights came on, the a/c which was on at the time and blowing very cold air, began blowing hot air, i attempted to roll down the electric powered windows and they would not work; the windshield wipers came on without prompting. i quickly decided to turn around and go back home since i was a short distance away. i decided to take a route through a residential neighborhood since i was unsure what would happen next and thought it would be best not to be on a major roadway if anything further occurred. i made a left into the residential neighborhood and noticed my truck was moving very sluggish and making a weird noise. i was approaching a stop sign up ahead; however, before i could apply the brakes my truck just cut off. i quickly put the gear in park and attempted to turn on my hazard light for oncoming traffic to go around me but i realized at this point my truck had absolutely no power. a gentleman on a bicycle stopped to assist me and we decided it would be best if he pushed my truck around the corner i was stalled at, to keep from obstructing oncoming traffic. he instructed me to put the truck in neutral but i was unable to do so, i could not turn the car on nor could i move it out of park gear. the street i was stopped on is a major road for entering and exiting the neighborhood that i was attempting to pass through to get home. the street i was on is a major road for entering and exiting the neighborhood that i was attempting to pass through to get home. i called aaa and had my truck towed home; its still sitting broken.
Electrical problem when pressing unlock button my doors lock instead. my plug outlet no longer works. when rolling down driver window down. passenger window will roll down and up also. my gas cap light has stayed and and gas cap has been replaced.shift solenoid

Vehicle stallls while driving it happens at all speeds and all types of roads highway 70 mph to neighborhood at 25 mph. the emergency brake engages, all interior light start flashing on, except all the lights for the heater controls go out and we lose power to cigarette lighter and power steering is lost. if it doesn't lose power completely the transmission won't shift and the car needs to be shut of and restarted. other days vehicle won't start at all, or will start and immediately shut off.
When i got my ride the horn was unhooked. so i reconnected it and now the horn honks itself and my auto up window switch isn't working.
The power door locks quit working with the key fob or manually pressing the switch . lights flash like it is working. have to lock the car by pushing the manual lock plunger for the back doors and the passenger door. this is a safety problem because i was driving and had the child safety locks on and had to stop and quickly get the children out but couldn't open the doors without climbing into the back seat and pulling up the lock plungers.
While driving on the highway at speeds of 70mph my vehicle threw itself into 2nd gear and has been stuck in this position for over the last couple days. i did not touch anything to throw it into this gear. i drive a standard. when i took it into the shop. i was informed that it was locked in 2nd gear due to the tipm. i am having to order the part and get it replaced. i was driving with my 2 year old son in my vehicle i thank god that nothing worse happened. *tr
Takata recall car is having issue with horn honking at random times, windshield wipers going off at random times, windows rolling down without reason, doors locking and unlocking, and headlights turning off while driving. poses a serious threat while driving especially at night.
I took my 2007 dodge nitro to have a diagnostic test conducted and it was noted that the cause of my automatic door locks would not operate because of something related to thetimp module.
Electronic window switch keeps going out, and the tipm light keeps comiing on. when i driving down the street the tipm light stays on didn't know what that was, i thouhgt it meant my tires, so i purchased new tires, still comes on and now my window want roll up because of this module
My truck honks randomly been dealing wih it for 1-2 years.. it honks when its off or when im driving its very scary as a female having to drive it like this. i had tipm replaced and still having issued i removed the fuse for horn but afte a year my battery started to die and i hear a sound coming from fuse box(tipm) not sure whats the problem but i have read many people have been having issues... recall for safety,.
Battery dies overnight when car is idle. it starts with a jump start and is fine during the day. i found the problem is that the dash board lights are coming on at night draining the battery. i also hear ticking & weird noises from the fuel box under the hood. a/c does not work, horn does not work & i am washer fluid does not come out when trying to clean windows! hazard lights flash & the alarm goes off for no apparent reason. took it to a dealer who said he received about 15 different codes when running diagnostics & that the dealer needs to flash the pcm.
The passenger door handle breaks off. i have replace this door handle 3 time out of my own pocket. i feel as if this now has become a recall due to it continuing to break.
Engine shut off while driving 35 mph. was able to restart it. second incident horn and wipers go off and can not be shut off. has happened while driving and while car is sitting.
The plastic inside door handles continue to break. it is not wear and tear as it has happened on doors that never get used. the handle makes it impossible for the passengers to exit the vehicle through their door. the driver handle has also broke making it unsafe. if there were ever a need to exit the vehicle for an emergency and the window could not be rolled down the driver and passenger would be unable to exit. the windows have to be rolled down and the person has to open the door from the outside only. the part gets replaced and fixed and breaks again. the handles are made of plastic that wear out with heat very easily. i feel the manufacturer should replace these handles with a more sturdy material. it is a very unsafe piece that continues to break.
Drivers side door handle inside broke. the bottom plastic part of the hinge broke. can not open now from inside! ridiculous!
I was driving on a side street when my car suddenly dies. if i would have been going down the road with my child in the car at a fast speed we would've wrecked. i've also had problems with my radio not turning off when i power my car off. *tt

No air conditioining paying 400.00 each year for the last three years,only to get air for ten minutes. secondly i heard on tv that nitro 2007 had a recall. i never received any information in the mail. how many times do i pay all of this money getting no results.
Uncontrolled accelleration of 2007 dodge nitro, w/3.7 litre, has happened 5 times in six months of owning . cant be fixed by dealer cause doesn't show code or able to duplicate when they have it , only way to stop it is to put in neutral and kill engine . have had other problems like idle rough and surging , and like someone turning key off and on for split second while driving at highway speeds. there has not been any pattern to when sudden acel happens , it has been random and can seemingly happen w/out notice. the dealer keeps telling me to keep driving it till it does it again so they can try to get codes or something to trouble shoot it. but this is very dangerous as you would think. im at a loss to what to do , i have contacted dodge complaint line and they don't seem to worried about my safety as it would seem , do to them wanting me to keep bringing it back to dealer . also no parts have been changed in order to try to correct ,only hook up scanner and drive around block and flash programs at it which has seemingly had ill affect on it as in my fuel mileage has went 23-24 highway to about 15-18 now, and they cant get it back where it was, now it is parked in driveway and family wont drive because scared of it, and i m still paying on vehicle that is unsafe and no idea how to fix , or dodge i should say, cant fix. *tr
