Problems with 2001 Dodge Neon STEERING

Tl* the contact owns a 2001 dodge neon. while operating the vehicle, the power steering suddenly malfunctioned and made the steering wheel very difficult to turn. the dealer diagnosed and repaired the vehicle. no further information was available. the contact also indicated that the check engine light would illuminate sporadically. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failures. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 102,000.

Dt*: the contact stated when driving at 30 mph, a wind draft was noticed in the steering wheel making it difficult to control. upon inspection by the contact, water was notice in the back floor board. the vehicle was taken to the local dealership were they determined the seal around the tail lights had a small area that may have not been sealed properly. the dealer replaced the sealant around the tail lights, but was unable to determine the cause of the steering problem. *nm

While parking when all of a sudden the steering wheel fell off the vehicle. taken to dealer for repairs.*ak manufacture was notified, but refused to any assistance. *tt

When starting the vehicle steering wheel came off into the owner's hands. vehicle was towed to the nearest dealer for evaluation, however the cause had not yet been determined. *ak the vehicle was towed to the dealer but they provided no assistance. *nm

1) started the car in parking lot and steering wheel broke off 2) could not drive, steering wheel fell. my wife and my 2 year daughter were in the car. luckily no accident. ) towed the car to a dodge dealer. at this time, daimler-chrysler is evaluating what to do with the defect (to pay or not to pay). they have failed to provide proper service. it has been 3 weeks with no support on a rental nor a decision to repay the defect. hence, the car is still at the dealer which causes a major inconvenience to my family. *ak

When the consumer put the key into the ignition steering wheel fell off. vehicle will be towed to the dealer, and the repairs will be at owner's expense. *ak

After starting the vehicle steering wheel came off. dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem. *ak consumer stated daimler chrysler refused to take responsibility for manufacturing defect and refused to pay for damages. *bf

Steering would become difficult on a intermittent basis, dealer was contacted and located a leak in power steering pump, pump was replaced. please provide further details.*ak

In the mentioned accident, richard mitchell was killed when the vehicle steering wheel crushed him in his seat, the steering column did not collapse. the airbags did deploy, but it they did not save his life. we have multiple pictures of the vehicle. it is also available for viewing.*ak

Was traveling 25-30mph and steering broke. lost control of vehicle, and hit a ditch. then, hit an iron cattle fence. upon impact, air bags failed to deploy.*ak
