My wife was driving the car and it shut off while driving. the engine and electric system shut off and she could not use the brakes. she had to coast to a parking lot and then it started up again. we have taken it into a mechanic and there is no information on the computer regarding what happened. he cannot diagnose the problem.
My dodge journey's engine shut off twice while i was driving with no warning. no loss of lights or radio, but the engine just shuts off and car cannot be restarted. the first time i was driving on a highway, and right after accelerating from a stop at a red light the car died. had to have it towed, and had an auto part store do some basic tests and was told it was just a bad battery, however when it happened again the day after replacing the battery. this time i was on a city street having just exited off of the interstate. i was in traffic and again the car just lost power due to the engine shutting down. again it would not start and could not be jump started so had it towed to the dealer. dealer was able to get a code p061c, and followed instructions to update the pcm. from what i understand, a software update was applied to the power control module. i am very concerned with the fact that my car can just shut down the engine with no warning at all. very dangerous.
I have been reading about my issue all too often online and have yet to see any resolution at all. i have a 2012 dodge journey and honestly it is scary driving it! the car actually shuts off in the middle of the road without warning. the issue it keeps showing is a crank sensor code. the sensor has been replaced 3 times now! it is also not an easy job since on an all wheel drive model, there are many hours involved to replace it. but if you're on the highway and driving normally the car will die at any moments notice and give no warning. seems like there are many many others having the same issue. if you do a quick search and type dodge journey dies while driving you will easily find many people with same issue. many people spending their hard earned money on repairs that get them nowhere! this really is sad and dodge has done nothing to help except continue to put peoples lives at risk and taking their money for repairs! please help! i have been having ...
I was riding down a busy highway and doing 55mph my car started to stall and just cut off, i couldn't get over to the slow lane alot of traffic. it cutoff and i had to get out the car and wave other cars off so they wouldnt hit me. as i got to a safe area from help of another driver the check engine light was on. i cut the car off and called my husband and he said after 10 to try and start it back up and it did it crunk back up and i drove slowly home with hazard lights on and when i got home and cut the car off i let it sit for 10 minutes again and when i turned it back on the check engine light was off. this was scary for me and when i researched this problem it shows it's a recall for a crankshaft position sensor but my car is not in the recall and i cant understand why not this could have cause me and my family to have died because of this dodge need to include all dodge journeys as i see alot of people are ...
My 2017 journey was manufactured in august of 2016 dodge has a recall for journeys for crankshaft position sensors for journeys that were made from may of 2016 to july 2016 my car has been stalling out since 40,000 miles and the problem is getting worse upon research this may be the crankshaft position sensor and there have been multiple complants online stating others cars have had issues with this sensor but dodge only did a limited recall on these vehicles. my car jerks 3-4 times when in reverse then stalls out or it jerks 3-4 times and stalls at stop lights or signs. other online complaints ive seen state that people have had issues with it also stopping mid driving at high speeds.
You can be driving and what shows up in the dashboard is that your key is not in the vehicle when the key is in the vehicle then the warning signals start the blair the vehiclewere stationary at the time i had to cut the vehicle off then it wouldn't start back until some time has passed then the vehicle started again
Horn blew intermittently at first when shutting doors, and occasionally for no reason. windows would go down part way when doors were shut. ignition would sometimes just click click when key is turned, wipers would move when not engaged to be on. battery would go complexly dead for no reason and then be ok for a month or two and then do it again. had to disconnect the horn a few years ago as it would not stop going off. has been in to kayer chrysler, dodge service several times and they could not find issue. they just called and said they founsd. short in the main electrical component and it will cost $1100plus for part and up to $200 to install. we have had these issues since we bought it. oh yeh heat and air on passenger side quit working a few winters ago, and the doors fill with water in every rain storm. park on a hill after a rain and doors will drain for hours. we have friends that have bought journeys and say they have no problems really. can't believe there s not a recall for such a mess. oh yes and occasionally it will ...
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 dodge journey limited. the contact stated that while driving at various speeds there an abnormal ticking sound coming from the engine. there were no warning lights illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the jim riehl's friendly chrysler jeep 32899 van dyke ave, warren, mi 48093 (586) 979-8700 however, no diagnostic tests were preformed. the failure recurred. the contact scheduled an appointment for diagnostic test which was still pending. the contact mentioned nhtsa campaign number: 10139771 as a possible solution to the failure. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 135,000.
The radio will randomly turn stations and just completely go black. the a/c turns itself on and off. the airbag lights keep randomly coming up and then go away.this all happens rather i'm driving fast, slow, or stopped at a light and has happened since purchasing the car a year ago. i'm also having an issue with the check engine light coming on with it being the p0420. i only use mid grade gas and only from exxon or chevron. i also make sure the gas cap is on tightly. the check engine light will be on one day and not the next.
