I was driving my car on i95 when i noticed it was not handling well and was making a noise. i could also feel a vibration under my feet. we made an appointment at central maine motors in waterville, maine first thing tuesday morning who told me the power steering cooler was leaking. in doing research if found s08 recall on 2011-2016 dodge journeys power steering coolers. my car does have a 3.6 l engine and this should have been taken care of when i bought the vehicle. in reading the recall and given the circumstances i could have been hurt as this went while i was driving and does in fact increase the chances of crashing.

My ac will unsync itself and when i hit sync it unsync again. also if i turn it off it will turn it back on. i dont know what is going on but i see that i am not the only one. i am scared been happening for months
I put the category as "unknown" because i dont know what exactly it falls under besides stupidity. my car began over heating last week. that was frustrating on top of all of the other problems including the constant jerking from the crap abs system. i put radiator fluid in and 2 days later, it began smoking like crazy. at least, what i thought was smoke. apparently what it actually was, was the t shaped house that leads to the radiator and is run right along side the heating coil is made of plastic. the heating coil had melted a hole in it, causing the radiator fluid to spray on everything under the hood. we go and fix that, by the way, $80 for a 5 inch piece of hose is insane, and come back, car works for 2 days and dies. battery is dead. take the battery off and go replace it, get it on the car, start it, boom, starter goes out. one thing after another. i'm taking it to trade in and will never buy another dodge. there was no risk in that anyway after the dealership never wanting to honor a single warranty detail even though it was supposedly "ground up".
Car shuts off while driving at any speed. it shits off while parked or stopped at a stoplight. the car will not turn back on. sometimes it take about 30 minutes and it will restart but will only run for about 5-10 minutes. when trying to start the car, we press the brake and then the start button and the car violently jerks as it tries to start, but will not turn over. it has happened since we bought the car march 2019 but the dealership wont take the car back or trade it for something else.
Precisely on 7.3.19 i had 4 of my children with me heading to a holiday parade. my car w/o warning completely stopped in the middle of a road. no power, no brakes, no steering. air was still blowing; radio still playing. my daughter and i pushed my car to the curb, my husband came and pushed my car further to avoid an accident. after several attempts the car restarted and restarted fine. drove another .5 city block; stopped at a stop sign, pulled out and my car died again in the middle of the intersection. my husband was still behind me & pushed us out. we drove home. he looked under the hood, nothing stood out. i didn't get any warnings on the dash. the car has driven fine until 7.5.19. my daughter and i just turned onto calumet ave; a very busy and dangerous road and my car died again. several cars flying around us laying on their horn. i do not have power to turn, to brake. my daughter and i got out and push my car into a parking lot that has a slight uphill entrance. it was not easy, it was dark outside. a very dangerous situation. i can only flip my hazard lights on, well what does that do when a car is flying up behind me at 40-50mph? i am terrified my car is going to die and my family and i are going to get seriously hurt and/or killed. reading on the internet there seems to be many people with the same issue and dodge is not responding. i have children who require trips to indianapolis for medical issues and it is a 3-4 hour drive for us. speed limit is 70. i cannot afford to trade this in and purchase a new car. i do not where else to go for help. if you call a mechanic or the dealership they tell you that can't help without looking at it. dodge dealer denies ever hearing of it before which i don't believe. neither of course will do a free inspection. i get it they're there to make money. recall should be issued to fix this before it becomes deadly.
While driving the air conditioning automatically comes on. i was driving to work on a residential street, decided to open the window even though it was 8:30am and it was already 95 degrees outside here in vegas. didn't get out of my complex before the air conditioner came on by itself. also with the air conditioner on, my car seems to run higher in idle and while driving it seems to double step when braking and coming to a stop. it does like a small jerk in acceleration coming to a stop.
Air conditioning comes on by itself when driving. radio volume decrease without touching it while driving. cruise control does not work when driving.
Grandson leaned on passenger headrest and it deployed! won't go back together and no idea what to do with it?
My complaint is about the dealership that i went to to get my cars recall repaired. a simple question about a recall resulted in the service man telling me there is no recall and the parts in my 2015 are from 1996 and that they can not find a recall. i was told that i would be liable for the cost of any repairs as per the fine print in my warrenty. tyson motors in joliet il is so incompitant that they couldn't fix a free recall on my car
Takata recall: when trying to adjust the climate control to "sync the passengers" and turn off the rear controls, within seconds the computer is turning the vehicle's "sync" off and turning on the rear control. as i was trying to adjust the temperature it will keep turning the controls off of sync and turn the rear controls back on. it happens whether i'm sitting i'm idle or driving, there have been no conditions that affect the way its working.
I tried to start my car and it would not start we tried to push the start button twice and put it in neutral press the brake it wouldn't start we tried pressing the button five times resetting it it wouldn't start we tried disconnecting the battery to reset the computer is still wouldn't start the car was parked. it won't turn over. when looking on the internet several other people have complained about this same issue.
The navigation system in my 2015 dodge journey stopped working. it shows no map input/navigation system not on vehicle. i heard this has been happening a lot on dodge journeys. i took it in and the will have to replace the whole radio/system. i was driving when it shut down. luckily, i knew where i was going but i drive out of town a lot with my grandkids and depend on the navigation system. that is one of the main reasons i bought a vehicle with a navigation system so i won't get lost.
My 16-year-old son was driving our 2015 dodge journey to school. he began to hear a noise that sounded as if something was dragging underneath the vehicle. the driver behind him was flashing him to pull over, he began having issues controlling the vehicle fortunately he was able to pull over and as soon as he got to the stop sign the car completely died after making a loud noise and started smoking. my son jumped out of the vehicle and the driver behind him told him to get away from the vehicle as he felt it was about to catch fire by the smell. once the tow truck driver got there and try to start the vehicle to put it in neutral the car again filled up with a burning smell. he jumped out and had to call dispatch for safety reasons of transporting the vehicle. once my vehicle arrived at lonestar auto plex in cleburne texas our service man dan was amazing. he kept us informed along the way asked questions and he was provided the service records. come to find out the engine seized up. the engine, oil pump, starter, all had to be replaced. chrysler requested the engine so their engineers could look at it. although everything was covered under warranty, my concern is now that there are others out there driving in the same thing may happen to them if not worse .
My 2015 dodge journey wont start. i changed the battery and starter and still nothing. i hear one click when i try to start it but it wont turn over and start. it tells me that my car is not in park but it wont start. then once it started, it died while i was driving down the street. whats going on with my truck?

Everytime it rains the car floods on either the passenger side or driver side. this is caused electrical malfunctions and lights to flicker. may lead to early corrosion and frame instability.
The vehicle started slowing down and making noises, not shifting, delayed engagement, and before everything happened it didn't show any sign of problem on the board (no check engine) and the car was in motion, on a city street.

Driver's headrerst deployed and cannot be put back together, but there was no accident.
My car was not running. i had just gotten in my car and the headrest deployed and hit me in the back of the head.

I have a 2015 dodge journey that has had major problems with it. before the car was even a year old it was taking into the shop for transmission problems. the car completely shut off on me while driving in the middle of a busy intersection while i was turning left. the car would not restart and had to be towed to the dealership. at that point, the service was escalated to a higher department and a high level repair person was brought in. less than 15,000 miles later, the car began heavily shaking every time it was driven. the find was that there was a missing bolt in the tie rod. the service man said there was no reasonable excuse that could explain how this would even occur. today, the car is in the shop for the second time in three days. initially for the batter light coming on while driving. i was told there was a loose wire and some corrosion on the batter but that it was repaired. less than 24 hours later then light came on again while driving this time with the warning on the panel that read battery saving mode. i immediately returned the car to the shop. waited all day yesterday only to be given the same explanation that was previously given. upon further probing i discover the car had never even been re inspected. the car continues to be in the shop has has been undrivable for 4 days now. i have a 6 year old sone who is transported in the vehicle daily. i'm beginning to fear for his safety in the car given its history and will no longer place him in harms way by driving in this car. the unbelievable serious problems that have occurred with this vehicle are alarming. especially, given the fact that there is no clear explanation as to why the issues are arising. these are not normal wear and tear complications. these are serious manufacturing issues.
Driver side continues to blow hot air while the passenger blows cool air while the a/c is running. told it was the blend door motor and got it fixed. a few days later, the some problem began again.
Vehicle stalls after coming to stop and attempting to resume. it starts back up after being put into park and pushing ignition button.
Car suddenly turned off while in motion causing wheel and rim damage as well as back number damage. replaced battery after check engine light came on at which time the vehicle operated fine the previous day and had been sitting overnight(diagnosed by auto zone), replaced on 6-jul-18. today 18-jul-18 absolutely no lights or power to the vehicle. i have tried jumps and car is still inoperable. it gets so hot in here that the interior surfaces are melting and chipping off.
The vehicle will lose power while driving down the road and simultaneously the traction control light activates followed by the car launching forward and the service awd and abs lights activating. the vehicle was taken to a chrysler garage which duplicated the problem and saw the faults in the computer. however the garage was unable to formulate a solution. they stated they checked all the connections and ran the vehicle approximately 160 miles without any additional occurrences and released the vehicle without any further repair. 4 days later and approximately 150 miles the problem recurred in a parking lot while backing up with the lights activating in the same sequence.

While driving my vehicle, it shuts down on me, steering wheel locks and it stops accelerating. it is very dangerous, as it just stops on me. it has left me in the middle of the city street, and its been a few times now. the check engine light is on, although, in two occasions, when the car started back up, the check engine light goes away. it's nerve wrecking and scary to know that it will shut down on me just like that, while in motion. i drive on the highway, i just hope, next time, it doesn't shut down on me in the highway. i have made a service car to the car dealership where i purchased it and will be taking it in to get seen in a couple of days.
Heater core...there is multiple complaints on the heater core going out. costing people atot of money. my car is just 3 years old heat should still work.
An unknown issue is completely draining the battery. thus, rendering the truck inoperable. the auto door locks would not work and the vehicle would not start. the first occurrence took place roughly two months ago. the service department at darcars temple hills, md, tried to convince me that i left my truck running. this time, same exact issue took place.
While driving on busy intersection vehicle just shut off on its own. steering wheel locked therefore i had no control. almost crashed into another vehicle and median. had to wait for it to come to a complete stop on the middle of intersection to be able to restart it.

While my husband was driving home from work on 3/14/17, he stopped to help a fellow officer that was stranded, he got out of the vehicle and was helping the other officer he smelled smoke and looked back and saw that it was our car on fire. the fire occurred in the front drivers side door panel, he was able to drive the vehicle home,after he thought the fire was out. the next day he drove the car to the auto shop,while on the way there the fire restarted,he was able to make it to the body shop. the vehicle sat at the dealer ship for 13 or 14 days before we finally got the okay from chrysler to fix it. the mecahanical part was fixed, however the sever smell from the smoke,burnt rubber,and plastic was not. we did take the vehicle back,and the dealership did do everything they could to get the smell out, the smell is still there. this is the only vehicle we have.so we have had no choice, but to drive it. my boys both have severe asthma and allergies, so riding in a car with a constant odor of smoke and burnt stuff is extremely unhealthy. my husband has also had a cough from the smoke inhailation that occurred, he is currently coughing stuff up outta his lungs. i have made at least 20-25 phone calls to chrysler, and have not received one back, we have not even received the report from the fire inspector that they sent. i would really just like to get some answers and know my rights. any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure if this warrants a complaint but when i wreaked my vehicle my airbags did not deploy. i was traveling about 50mph on a main road it was night time and had started to rain and i hit a cow that was standing in the middle of the road. there was about $8000 dollars worth of damage to my vehicle. i am just curious as to why airbags didn't deploy. should they have?
3 separate incidents, all involving braking while in motion, spread over about 2 months. 1., took too long to come to a stop while braking at a red light (6 car lengths); 2., light tap caused car to screech to a stop; 3. complete failure; no response to repeated pumping; no resistance felt when pressing brake all the way to the floor, nearly flipped into a ditch, caused over $8k damages. the car itself had 23,295 miles on it when all this happened. dodge "investigator" said nothing's wrong.

I will describe the 'problem' to the best of my ability: at completely random times if the car hasn't warmed up extensively it loses power and the feeling is as if you have been rear-ended by another car. your foot is still on the gas and the car doesn't rev it just has nothing. i was almost hit many times. i actually had to pull out of traffic and put my flashers on to let it warm up another 7-10 minutes. this seemed to solve it, yet i still asked many people if they thought this was common with such a new vehicle.. i brought it in on march 14 at 7pm. by 9 am the next morning i got a call from the dealership and they had found nothing wrong with my car? there were 'no codes and no warning lights, so they couldn't fix what they didn't see.' i picked up the vehicle and drove home. 2 days later i drove a mile from my house to cvs pharmacy and had 'the problem' occur while i was going about 45 miles per hour. again, i was almost hit by a car behind me because the car immediately stops with no warning, no braking, etc... it is the scariest feeling! it was completely odd to me because it was not cold this day. i looked the temp gauge in the car and it was 53 degrees. my husband told me to not drive it the rest of the day. when he got home he followed me to the dealership. they had the car over a month and finally called me. they claim it was a loose wire, but gave me such vague info.. i talked to the service manager and he still said they didn't know 100% accuracy what was wrong with this car. he said he would not deem it 100% safe. i chose to turn the lease in early because i will not risk my life or my family's life in this car. i don't want another person to buy this car not knowing the condition it is in! it only has 8345 miles on it and is a beautiful car, but dangerous!
I have recieved 3 recalls and all of them the manufacturer just says to contact dealer for vehicle inspection and part repair. its been 3 mos and poway dodge dealer said to wait till i got another recall notice that parts have been distributed. i am wondering if i need to have the accident before the company accepts responsability for repairs or worst deaths in my family. i have a two year old and an 8 year old to protect mr. ceo/vp. first it was the breaks, then seat belt, now navigation system. i also have not been able to use one of the air condition vents in front seat cause its never circulated since i bought it. was my car made on a friday before happy hour?
On early december 2015, water leak inside my vehicle, i brought the vehicle to kendall dodge, the back seat containers were fill with water, the carpet was wet as well, kendall dodge keep the vehicle for a one an a half week, when they call me to advised me that the vehicle was ready when i show up to the dealer to pick up the car the case manager show me the vehicle it was noted that the back seat container were half way with water, i ask the case manager what was done in my vehicle she couldn't answer she apologized and she told me that she will send the car back to the shop, 3 days later they call me again to tell me that the vehicle was ready, when i pick up the car an inspection was done and it was noted that the back container had rust, i ask again, no response, since the beginning of this i been in contact with chrysler, i had requested mold test or replacement of the carpet, the vehicle smells bad had rust i dont know if it has mold chrysler keep giving me the run around, this vehicle was new when it was purchase may 26 2015, in addition the transmission keep giving me problems it seems that they are defaulting in the agreement that was made when i purchase and sign for this vehicle, i have two little girls and they spend a lot of time in this vehicle going to school and places and am not sure if this vehicle is safe for them, please help my tel: [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
After getting my 2015 dodge journey i was very happy with it until i had 3 recalls on my car and now i am waiting for another recall for the gps as it seems that thousands of people are having the same issue with the gps that have been replaced multiple times because they stop working after a couple of months. everyone keeps saying they get the same error that states unable to open maps and when people takes it to the dealership they all say that they have to replace the hold gps unit with a cost of around $750 dollars and people have done this multiple times on their cars including me.

This is a rental car, therefore not positive if it's a 2015 model. while driving on the expressway, i shifted in my seat and my foot accidentally touched the hood release. the hood opened while driving, although not completely since it has a secondary hood latch release. the hood was bouncing until i could safely pull over at the next exit.
While driving when slowing down from various speeds the entire radio system will shut down and reboot. the air and all cuts off when this happens. the screen has went black, and fullnof wildncolor and just simple falls when this hapoens the system reboots after a few minutes. taken to dealership several times with no luck. =/ also is stalling and brake petal is very hard to push when trying to start.
Was driving outt of state in a 5 month old vehicle. we then stopped at a food place for about 25 minutes. when i tried to start the car, brake pedal was hard and would not give way, dash lights lit up run light as well but vehicle did not start. on several occassions the same thing happened with no results. after 5 attempts, the vehicle finally started and the check engine light lit up. light stayed on for 4 days and then went off. contacted dealership, after inspection determined crankshaft sensor message was recorded. part was ordered and replaced. hope this fixes the problem. have seen all older models have similar issues. hope dodge addresses ant exsisting issues on new models.
My sister and i purchased a dodge journey 2015 , we only had it approx 3 weeks, briefly after returning home we found the car on fire which caught the carport and eventually the house. fire inspector ruled car was started by the vehicle. everything was destroyed.
