Transmission unexpectedly downshifts at any speeds causing the engine to red line and the speed governor cuts off the fuel causing the vehicle to stall. the only way to resolve the problem is to restart the engine. have almost been rear ended on more than one occasion.
Something has gone very wrong in my transmission. possibly tork converter or a pump causing 2 error codes and a huge winding noise upon starting the vehicle. the error codes are p083b for the tfps and p0944 hydraulic pressure unit. my car is 2013 and was purchased on april 7th with 44,011 miles on it. i have since put 14000 miles on it with the needed and proper oil changes every 5000 miles. i was driving and started hearing a high pitched winding noise. i started to head to someplace i would be able to park and stopped at a red light. once it turned green i proceeded to press on thr gas and the car didnt move rather slid backward almost hitting the car behind me. i had my 3 year old in the car properly restrained in the correct car seat but it was scary. i then had it towed to a transmission shop and got a diagnosis of needing to rebuild my transmission. so a 2013 dodge journey needs the transmission rebuilt at 58k miles.

Cylinder 2 misfire - engine lock suddenly as valve was not installed properly at time of manufacturing. this is a known defect in this make of dodge. my car is not included per the dealer and should be. the valve is faulty. causing burnt valve and warped head. *extremely costly repair that was unavoidable with recommended regular maintenance on my vehicle! dealer will not repair. manufacturer has not included my vin in recall.

2013 dodge journey has transmission shifting problems from a stop to a start. the journey was taken to our local chrysler dealership. they test drove the vehicle and said the transmission was overfilled. they drained some fluid out and test drove. my receipt for the vehicle states at the bottom found flash that had an update for ppm which was directly related to shifting issues. ran ppm update and performed a quick learn on transmi7 ssion which set all settings back to default on transmission. i will be taking the vehicle back to chrysler dealership again transmission slips still about 4 too 8 seconds between 1st and second gear. sometimes when i am on a steep hill it might roll backwards if their isn't enough speed from transmission slip. this vehicle can cause a accident their is a lot of complaints about the transmission on this vehicle.
Takata recall. my car doesn't want to start. i tried jump starting it didn't work. the display say vehicle not in park. battery is fine.
I have a 5yr. 100,00 ml warranty on this car bumber to bumber . months of problems to find out it has internal failure totally integrated power module.. months of car jumping, towing, doors locking cant get out, lights flashing,2 recalls, brought a car battery now its sitting on dodge lot since 10/17/17.an will not run. as a consumer who brought this vehicle believing dodge would hold to this accountability total failure and wants me to pay for it this should not be accepted. my experience with this is not safe for me and my family.
I have owned my dodge journey since may 2013, and after two years i began to have problems. the vehicle does not pick up and go. at times when the vehicle is in idling mode (like if i am sitting at a traffic light) it acts as if it wants to stop. on other occasions the vehicle acts as if it wants to stop, even if i am in drive or just sitting in park. i recently had a tune and the battery replaced. i am still having the same problem! however, it's even worse now because the vehicle constantly shakes and wants to stop while i am caught up in traffic, which is very dangerous (especially when i have my children and dogs in the vehicle with me). i want this issue resolved. i bring my vehicle in for regular maintenance as required, and when i mentioned the issue to my service advisor at the dodge dealership where i originally purchased the vehicle, they told me it's because the vehicle is getting old. the most recent incident of the vehicle shaking and wanting to stop occurred yesterday afternoon while i was driving down hwy i-64. because of all of these issues i am never buying a dodge again.
At 110,000 miles vehicle started making a rattling sound coming from the engine compartment, no noise when cold but gets louder as the vehicle warms up. gets louder when the ac is on or steering is turned at low speeds. but goes away with increased engine speed. took it to a local shop where it was diagnosed as a broken flex plate. shop said they were able to find 10 similar complaints and dodge sells a revised part design.
Bought the 2013 dodge journey brand new on march 2013. my journey only has less than 21,000 miles on it and yet the v6 misfires causing the gas to fill the (all the way to the muffler) back and front (engine) of the vehicle, i found this out when i turn on my car saturday morning, the car started shaking and i could smell the gas fumes filling up the inside if the car. i drop it off to the repair shop and i was told, i was lucky that it didn't caught on fire.
Dodge journey burst into flames after being repaired after a factory recall, driver had to pull over to the side of the highway stop and exit the vehicle until smoke subsided and fire was extinguished.

My vehicle has undergone repeated repair attempts, for a defect and nonconformity with defective transmission, transmission clunk, defective a/c, defective door locks, defective window regulator, and radio failure. these nonconformities substantially impair the use, value and safety of the subject vehicle. the transmission has shifting issues to the point of having to force it into reverse, especially if parked on an incline. the defective a/c and radio seem to be contained in the all-in-one unit in which the radio goes out and a/c will turn on at random and not turn off. the unit has been completely replaced once, only for the problem to continue. the defective door locks and window regulator was a result of wiring issue bcm and door latch assembly. i have filed a lemon law suit against chrysler and bill luke, only to be declined as they state it was all within warranty. the vehicle is not worth nearly what i owe on it and has a huge list of repairs that would reflect negatively on carfax in the event of trade or resale. i have attached a summary of repairs, but have additional documentation, if needed.
