For the last four weeks my vehicle just stops in the middle of driving and shuts off the steering wheel locks and the car is not movable for well over a few minutes. have taken the vehicle to be checked and it claims to be nothing but yet the same problem persist please advise me on what i should do, the vehicle is at 90,000 miles and i want to figure out the problem please and ty in advance. *tr
We had issues with the differential, updates needed and dodge has no clue. but now this...we have a 2012 dodge journey that is acting very strange. it started with the headlights being on, even when they were off (we do not have automatic lights)...then after the car was off, the headlights would flash on and off every 10-30 seconds, we would have to undo the battery to keep it from dieing. we replaced the headlights switch and it still does and added a symptom. when my husband would manually lock the doors, it would unlock by itself. we were told it was the tipm which has to be done by dodge. not sure what it will do next!
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 dodge journey. the contact stated that when the passenger seat was moved forward and/or backwards, the air bag light turned on and off and then remained illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a mechanic who diagnosed that the "b1c4e passenger positioner open circuit "did not send the signal to inflate or to activate in case of a crash". the passenger side wiring needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was not notified. the approximate failure mileage was 47,900.
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 dodge journey. while operating the vehicle, the instrument panel lights flickered off and on and the instrument gauges would not remain illuminated. also, the rear brake light bulbs burned out on multiple occasions. the cause of the failures was not diagnosed. the vehicle was not repaired. the dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failures. the failure mileage was 19,000.
The uconnect touch screen system went blank and the uconnect touch hand controls along with the switch bank controls stopped working. this means no heat or ac control and no radio/volume control. even though this happened in mid summer, if it had happened in winter, there is no control of defrost system and a potential driving hazard. the dealer diagnosed the problem as a faulty telematics gateway module and the whole radio system needs to be removed to replace it. cost $800 to fix!
I purchased a used 2012 dodge journey in september 2015 from lakeshore chrysler dodge and jeep of slidell, louisiana. we have had nothing but problems since driving off the lot. found out after purchase that the car was not inspected prior to dealership reselling it. before i even got home the check engine light came on. i called the dealership and reported issues. they did the oil change and inspected the car and said everything was fine it was "normal noises" however after complaining and complaining the were able to locate and fix the issue with the shifting noises and jolting. we are still experiencing the "normal noise" of three clicks when the engine turns off. we have numerous electrical/computer issues. the air, radio, touch screen, lights, all got off randomly. the system will not respond even if the vehicle is turned off and back on. it works when it wants to. we have issues where the car accelerates faster on its own have to break while car still tries to accelerate. we have had this vehicle in the shop numerous times since the purchase and they "can not duplicate the issue" so they can not fix it. i have provided numerous videos showing and proving the electrical/computer issues we are having. dodge refuses to do anything to fix the situation. everything is at our expense. wants us to pay 150 diagnostic fee on top of having to get rent-a-car for the duration of time the vehicle is in the shop. the dealership has had my car on numerous occasions. one time they had it for over 18 days and said "normal noise" and "could not duplicate" however out of the 18 days they only drove the car 35 miles. i no longer feel safe driving this car. it scares me just to drive to the local grocery which we gotten stuck and had to have towed to dealership. i am so scared & trapped in this car with no way out. contacting a lawyer this can not be legal to sell defects.
While driving on public highway the engine stalled, steering locked and had to coast to a safe spot. this is the 3rd time this has happened. 1st time march 2016 mileage 94470, 2nd time end of october 2016, current time august 2017. each time the computer tells the dealership it is the crank sensor which we replace. this is very scary and my daughter is afraid to drive the car. we have been lucky to be able to get off the road so far, but are afraid of it happening again and being in an accident. wondering if dodge is going to do something about this since i see many other similar complaints posted.

Wife was driving the car and the battery light came on and radio and heater went off. she took it to oreillys and they said it was the altenator. i replaced the altenator and the heater or defroster still will not work and the battery light is still on. we have had problems with the computer with this car. the turn signals were not working correctly when you turned on the left signal the right signal would come on. really dissapointed in this car at this time and dodge
On november 11,2015, we were traveling from home to a doctor's appointment for a surgical procedure. we were traveling on interstate 65, in heavy traffic, going around 70 mph when vehicle suddenly stalled, engine malfunction light came on, and vehicle lost all power. we were in the right lane and able to coast off the highway and avoid being hit. vehicle would not restart and had to be towed to dealership that sold it. they were able to crank the vehicle and said there was nothing wrong. because of safety concerns we pushed them to check further and they then said there were a couple of sensors that needed to be replaced (camshaft position sensor & crankshaft position sensor). we're in the process of replacing those. the vehicle is a family vehicle that is used regularly to transport children and other family members. there is a definite safety concern with a vehicle that would suddenly lose power, with no warning, and could lead to a serious accident. dodge should recall until it is repaired.
In the middle of the winter 2015-2016 i had to replace my radiator due to a small crack that developed. my heat started to malfunction the following winter 2016-2017 it only worked part of the time. starting in the fall of 2017 my heat went out completely. we took it in to have them check the heater core, come to find out that since the heater core is installed at an angle it doesn't drain the sludge properly. i have also noticed that my air conditioning will turn on at random. i don't know exactly when this started, but it will turn on by itself. just this morning 8/13/18 my air turned on 15 times, after being shut off every time. i'm wondering if this is something wrong electronically. thank you for your time and consideration on my 2012 dodge journey.

The instrument panel which controls your ability to turn on radio, tape player, and heating/air conditioning has gone out. i purchased this car in november 2013, and it's unfortunate for me that i did. another failure of this automobile is when it rains heavily, my back doors fill with rain water. you can hear it inside of the doors. it makes me believe that the car was in some type of flooding condition. my back wheel on the drive's side also has a brownish-red tinge that appears to be rust. i am disappointed. did i see the correct report of the reliability of the car? when you place the key in the ignition and start, or use any of the modes on the ignition, the screen was constantly stating, "loading," and it turned black and is out. this happened before in 2014 and i thought that maybe it was just a glitch, but it isn't.

Bluetooth / uconnect / voice recognition stopped working
Stuck in the middle on nowhere twice with 2 young children! started having problems on the highway on my way home. started fine in the am before leaving families house. after stopping for gas i was driving the journey when it lost electrical power while driving home causing radio shut off, lights on dash continued to flash (abc, traction control,airbag) was able to get home and vehicle rpm's went to 4000 and shut itself completely off. 3rd incident was on 4/6/15 driving vehicle back to texas to auto shop to be worked on, completely shut off 4 times within a 20 mile drive and rpm's continued to jump each time before shutting off between 4000-5000. *tr
Driving typically less than 25 mph and car shuts down. which makes me have to brake, place car in neutral and start again then switch to drive. i took car to dealership and because it didn't show on the electrical tester they said nothing was wrong. but the vehicle continues shutting off while i am driving with my children in the car.
Vehicle would not start after work. started fine in the am before going to work. after work, after 3 times of trying to start the vehicle was able to get it started to drive over to autozone to hook up to a computer. battery had to be replaced. 2nd incident was on 3/17/15-journey lost electrical power while driving home causing radio shut off, lights on dash continued to flash (abc, traction control,airbag) was able to get home and vehicle rpm's went to 4000 and shut itself completely off. 3rd incident was on 3/19/15-driving vehicle back to washington to auto shop to be worked on, completely shut off 4 times within a 20 mile drive and rpm's continued to jump each time before shutting off between 4000-5000. phone call from auto shop on 3/20/15 stating alternator is not working and is on back order to do recalls. *tr
I was driving on expressway, charging system light came on, engine power was erratic, vehicle slowed and rpms went to 4000, radio stopped, air bag light came on, abs light came on. i exited expressway, parked vehicle and shut it off. vehicle would not restart until battery was recharged. mechanic determined that the alternator had failed. auto repair shop installed a new mopar alternator and recharged the battery. *tr

2012 dodge journey hero awd hatchback showed a check engine light then lost all power and blacked out. battery was replaced, check engine light again came on and in less than 24 hours blacked out (zero power) again. vehicle was towed to dodge and during a 2 week period in the shop the alternator, battery, two o2 sensors and the pcm were replaced in an attempt to fix the issue causing the check engine light. vehicle was returned to owners and in less than 24 hours blacked out with total power loss again. issue occured once while vehicle is in motion. dodge has been unable to locate a solution. *js
The 2012 journey was being used to jumpstart a 1997 f 350 ford truck. the f 350 was not running while the journey was. jumper cables were attached correctly. the women jumping the car went into the house for a moment when she heard an explosion and the roar of the fire. the entire front of the car was engulfed in flames. the windshield was blow out and flames reached 12 feet into the air. after the fire truck put out the blaze, the hood had vaporized . the car was reported as a total loss by the insurance company. the heat from the fire was so intense it ignited the f 350. it too was declared a total loss. i do not know the cause of the explosion in the journey. the fire captains report states the origin of the fire was the 2012 dodge journey. i believe that this has happened before. i also believe that serious injury or death would occur if a person is nearby or sitting in the vehicle. *tr
Tamara recall- my vehicle isn't listed on the recall, however, my airbag light comes on and dings constantly. it is when no one is in the front passenger seat and when there is a passenger in the seat. it seems to happen more often when turning corners or when backing up. also, my electrical system is messed up as well. sometimes my charging outlets work and sometimes they don't. this began to occur after my motor was replaced at 17,000 miles by the dodge dealer because it had a manufacturing defect. there were holes in the metal of the motor and oil was seeping out of it. now i have had issues with the air conditioner, the radio, all charging ports, the cruise control, and the airbag light coming on randomly. the local dodge dealer always says everything is fine when i take it in, because they cannot replicate the problem when it is in the shop.
I was driving on the interstate and all of a sudden my dashboard started to flicker. i couldn't increase my speed. the check engine light came on. my car began to slow down on its own accord. i pulled over to the shoulder and put the car in park. i was able to shut the engine off, but unable to turn the accessories off. my radio remained on along with the dashboard.i was unable to restart the ignition. i called for a tow truck and my car was brought to the original dealer, cortese chrysler/dodge. the next day they replaced the alternator free of charge. i am concerned that this will happen again when my car is out of warranty. *tr

My 2012 dodge journey rear windshield wiper is acting up. it won't start unless the wiper switch is off and the car is in reverse. it will not work if i have the switch on. also, i have one tail light that's bothersome. if i open any of my doors, all of the tail lights work. when i turn my lights on, one of my tail lights appears to be out along with my license plate lights. i'm not sure what could be causing these problems. *tr
This vehicle has an on-going problem with "engine battery drain" which has cause numerous returns to the dealership 5-6 times since july 2013 for the same problem (will not start-up without being boosted off with jumper cables).here's description of the event: july 10,2013 had to boosted off to start while out-of town, return to ga & on july 18, took vehicle to dealership & discovered that battery needed to be replaced; on august 5, while out-of-town had to be boosted off to start, got back to ga. on aug. 7, took vehicle back to dealership, they checked battery & said battery was fine. on oct.14,2013, wouldn't start & had to be towed into dealer & they kept it for 2-days & said it needed "cylinder head" & said that was the problem; jan. 7, 2014 wouldn't start, took vehicle back dealer & they kept it 4-days & replaced alternator & said that was the problem; on feb.19, 2014 wouldn't start, took vehicle back on feb.20,2014, kept until feb. 24, & replaced module-telematics & said that was the problem; on feb.28, vehicle stop running & wouldn't start-up, tow vehicle back on march 4,2014 & dealer kept vehicle 8-days & said the battery drain is from fr hub & replaced battery again & vehicle was pick-up mar.12, 2014. i had to pay for first battery, alternator & some rental car fees,not including loss of convenient of time & vehicle. *tr

Since i purchase my car, the radio has gone out of conto andconstinley keep changing the channels and won't stop. while driving my radio and hvac turned off and interior light came on. now my gears hesitating to shift (sticking) when turning making a loud thump. this all happens while driving on a highway, street. if i hit a bump, my radio would change channels
My radio will not change stations or inputs from satellite,am,fm,or cd. sometimes it will turn all the way up and i am unable to turn it down or off or anything. i've even pulled the car over and turned the engine off but, when i turned it back on the volume remained up and i had to drive home very distracted. the worst part is that it will jump stations at this loud volume and nothing can be done to fix it. everytime i take it to the dealer they say they are unable to find any problem..
The car disables while driving and does not start properly. the car has been at the dealership 5 times since i purchased it and each time they were unable to fix the car. i believe the car is a lemon and want to spare someone the nightmare that i have been experiencing. *tr
While driving the car on a busy road it suddenly lost power and died while driving it, had it towed to a dealership and it was discovered that the fuel pump fuse had blown, the car is only 1yr old. the second time we were driving down a busy high way and the same thing happened this time it was determined that the fuel pump was bad the dealer replaced it, there have been a multitude of problems with this vehicle from the ac not coming on to the radio/nav screen not coming on when the car is started. brake problems seems to be the next thing that is rough on this vehicle. *tr
The problem started right after i got the vehicle home, the power window did not work nor the power lock. when started the heat and air control would reset themselves. also, the clock and radio would go on and off on its own. now the problems have increased, my slip resistance is not working, i am hearing all sorts of noises underneath the vehicle, especially when turning. also, i am using more gas mileage than what is told about the vehicle, to be honest if i had it to do over again i would have never traded my truck in on this vehicle. but, now i am stuck with it and the payments even when it comes to the point of the need of parking the vehicle because i will not risk my families life in a vehicle that has as many problems has this one is having. *tr
