Problems with 2010 Dodge Journey STEERING

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 dodge journey. while starting the vehicle there was a abnormal noise detected. the contact noticed power steering fluid was leaking. there were no warning lights illuminated. the vehicle was taken to billion auto - chrysler jeep dodge ram in sioux falls (5910 s louise ave, sioux falls, sd 57108 (605) 309-0970) where it was diagnosed the return power steering line ruptured. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was contacted who referred contact to nhtsa. the contact stated that the failure was similar to nhtsa campaign number 16v273000 (steering).the failure mileage was approximately 163,000. the vin was not available.

Shortly after beginning to drive the car, the traction control light comes on, the steering tightens up and the brakes freeze up. this happens on completely dry roads. this happened 2 times within 1 mile of each time. the first time i almost went through an intersection because i couldn't get stopped, and the second time i almost rear ended a car. i had both of my children who are 7 and 10 in the vehicle. this is not the first time this issue has happened. it happened 6 months ago, and my mechanic said the code was a faulty tpm which was replaced. it then happened a month ago, and the most recent time which was last week. i've been researching this issue and it seems that the dodge journey has had this issue, among others. it seems as if this vehicle needs a complete recall. somebody is going to end up seriously injured or dead. i still owe $10k on my vehicle and cannot afford to buy another and pay this loan. i need to get rid of this vehicle and dodge needs to take responsibility.

The power steering hose keeps ruptureing when you first start it up

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 dodge journey. the contact stated that she had noticed the steering wheel would become difficult to operate without warning and also noticed fluid spots on her driveway. the contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who informed her that there had been a recall placed on the vehicle for a defective power steering return hose. the contact then called schlossmann dodge city chrysler jeep ram fiat (19100 w capitol dr, brookfield, wi 53045) where it was informed that her vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v273000 (steering). the contact spoke with the manufacturer who gave her the same information; they then referred her to nhtsa. the vehicle had not been repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 140,000. *pm *tp

Car will not start at times. cant put it in gear at times. eap light comes on without any issues. seems all electrically issues must repair brake and turn signal lights every other month

I started my 2010 dodge journey and was driving down the interstate. i began to go around a sharp curve and realized i had lost all power steering. this almost resulted in a crash into another vehicle and then almost a barricade. thankfully i was able to somewhat gain control of the vehicle. my wife and 10 month old baby were also in the vehicle. i later learned that the power steering return line had ruptured. i would consider this a isolated incident and not a vehicle problem if there wasn't already a recall for other dodge journeys with the exact same problem.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 dodge journey. the contact stated that the power steering failed to operate when the vehicle was started one morning. the contact noticed a large puddle of power steering fluid underneath the vehicle. the contact called hawk chrysler dodge jeep (7911 w roosevelt rd, forest park, il 60130, (708) 366-1001) and was informed that there was no recall on the vehicle; therefore, the repair costs would not be covered. the manufacturer was contacted and agreed with the dealer. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was 180,000.

Loss of steering twice due to extremely cold weather. return hose burst and lost power steering. also power steering fluid leak. high pressure hose burst loss of steering again.

Cars horn starts beeping whenever it wants. traction control goes off whenever it wants keeping us from getting car in drive. lost power to everything when driving down highway. return line of power steering pump has ruptured 6 times in the last year. it just did it again 1-20-2019. the last rupture wasted the pump.

Car turns off while driving and traction control light goes on. steering and breaks do not work when this happens creating an emergency situation for driver and passengers as well as the public as crash is very possible. car will not start immediately upon attempting to restart. if it does start, within 5 minutes the car will shut down again mid drive. car fails to accelerate above 1500 rpms right before car shuts off. .
