After getting off from a long day at work. leaving the parking lot on the second floor from work i was coming down the ramp when i lost complete control of the vehicle. the vehicle completely shut down on me leaving me to floor the break to stop the vehicle almost causing me to crash into the curb. all service lights come up on dash board windshield wipers started going on and the car completely shut off worst thing is after doing research about my vehicle is that it's been a common problem with all chrysler, jeep, dodge vehicles. repairs for this is about 1,200$ something customers are subject to pay due to not being covered under warranty. chrysler needs to address this issue for their customers safety!!!! *tr

My vehicle failed to start. after research and finding information that there is an issue with tipm and the fuel pump relay that is built into the circuit card fails and cuts out the fuel pump and shuts off the engine. luckily that this vehicle was not on the road when it failed and cause a serious accident. my understanding that there is a legal law suit for same issues but for newer models. 2012 jeep and caravans ect... i have checked for power for the fuse box and no power coming from and 2 points for fuse. i have called dodge recall list and under my vin there is no recall for this issue. *tr

I went to the store got what i needed came out and the journey would not start. i had it towed to the dodge dealership and they told me the tipm was bad.they replaced it and has been working so far. it cost 900.00 dollars to fix with only 37424 miles on it.the other problem was the brakes all had to be replaced with just over 20000 miles on the car. the dealership covered the front brakes but with a deductible of 100.00 dollars but i had to pay for the back brakes. *tr

When driving with my mother as passenger from phoenix to tucson to visit relatives, the horn sounded intermittently. i had a minor accident a few days later, and when i took the car in the dealer to repair, i asked them to check the horn. they reported nothing amiss. the horn continued to internittently sound off whether i was driving on a side street alone or in traffic, both on surface streets and the freeways. when i received the notice for the fobik recall in may, i made the appointment and took the car in, and reminded them the horn goes off; the same dealer told me they could not replicate the horn issue again. they also failed to complete the recall fix. i made another appointment two weeks ago in july as the horn kept sounding off on its own and it is getting worse. i also had all the required maintenance completed at a cost of over $1500, and while in the service bay the car horn sounded off. the service crew attempted to fix the horn over three days but failed. as i drove the car away from the dealership, the horn sounded off again. they also did not complete the recall fix again, even after ordering the parts necessary. they believe the horn issue is related to the electrical issue in the key fobik recall, and are hoping the recall fix will also address the horn issue. meanwhile, the horn has continued to escalate and last evening while driving home in rush hour traffic, the horn sounded off for longer periods, on several occasions for as long as nearly a mile on the surface streets. as this is a severe safety issue as well as a citable offense, i have made yet another appointment to have the horn issue fixed. the dealer has not relayed exactly what steps they have taken to correct this, other than replacing the *spring in the steering column. i have read online a possible horn fix is to replace the airbag - which has not been identified in a recall yet.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 dodge journey. while driving 10 mph, the vehicle stalled. the vehicle was able to restart after numerous attempts. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was unable to be determined. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vin was not included nhtsa campaign number: 14v373000 (electrical system). the failure mileage was approximately 79,078.

December 8, 2014 i was driving my 2010 dodge journey when the horn started to randomly honk as if the alarm had gone off....there was no control over the honking and it startled me and distressed the other drivers in vicinity. airpark dodge dealership in scottsdale az stated the computer software needed updating and that should fix the problem. feb 1st, 2015 the car randomly started honking within the garage no key in the ignition and no one had driven the car all day. these episodes, 10 in all, were different than the last time as the honks were short in duration, i was able to capture it on video. airpark dodge was unwilling to do more than what chrysler star recommended and wanted to give me back the car with the problem undiagnosed. i am still awaiting a proper diagnosis as i see random uncontrolled honking as a safety issue. *tr

My 2010 car will not start sometimes, this happened in 2011 my fiancee is on his way to alabama he stopped at the rest stop and turned off the engine, when he tried to turned on the engine it will not start for several hours he was trying, finally it started he took it to dodge dealer in alabama and they replaced the module for free. once in a while the car will not start then when we wait for an hour it will start it. i always take it to darcars dealer for them to check it but since the car will start they told me there is no problem nov.4 my fiancee was in the mall he when went back to the car the car won't start he called triple a and towed the car to the dealership. darcars of rockville first said it was the module they replaced it on the 5th of nov.then called me again they said it was the harness they replaced the harness. last night they called me around 6pm and told me maybe the computer module they are waiting for tech support to call them about the problem 3 days and still can not figure out what is wrong with the car. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2010 dodge journey. the contact stated the ignition key seized within the ignition switch. the contact mentioned that the ignition key would not go into the start position preventing the vehicle from turning on. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the ignition switch needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

The horn started randomly honking. it would go on for 30 seconds to a minute, blaring like someone was honking it with no distinct pattern. this happened when the car was turned off, no one was near it, the key fob was in the house. at one time it sounded like the alarm horn, with no lights flashing, but the car we unlocked and disarmed. this went on all night from about 7pm to 7am. took it to the dealership for this and other issues. they had it for a week and the issue would not duplicate for them. this morning, a week and a half later, i went to start the car. turned the key, nothing happened. turned back to off position and tried again. this time it started. we had the whole ignition module replaced several months ago when the car left me stranded, alarm going off constantly, but i couldn't unlock the car. it was not the key batteries. i used the accessory key to open the door, and removed the horn fuse so it could be towed. not covered under warranty equals over $700 in repairs and a lost day of work. now i'm inclined to think that the new switch may be defective as well. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 dodge journey. while driving at 35 mph, the air bag warning light illuminated. in addition, the contact stated that the horn independently activated. the vehicle failed to start and the doors locked independently. as a result, the contact was unable to exit the vehicle. the contact had to use the emergency key to exit the vehicle. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 114,000.

On march 6, 2014 i drove off the lot of eastchester chrysler jeep dodge llc #1352682 located on 4007 boston road bronx,ny. we enjoy driving our 2010 journey until october 19th 14 @ 5pm on the i 95 driving 55 mph the vehicle started to stall leaving me at the entrance of exit 15 with on coming traffic driving 50-55 mph exiting. i had a 2 yr old and 13 yr old in vehicle and was sitting on highway for 2 hours waiting for tow truck. the car wouldn't start or go into gear. on wednesday, october 22, 2014 it was towed for the second time to eastchester chrysler jeep dodge and on the 23, i was advised by the service department and informed that the two recalls were done (l25 and k37) on march 15, 2014 but the vehicle was in my possession on march 6, 2014. upon returning to the sales office i was informed that because of the backlog in paperwork there is a discrepancy in dates of when the work was completed. a salesperson advised me the tipm and battery need to be replaced and the cost is $1153 plus tax. october 24, 2014 a recall for (p54) was put into effect. why an i being held responsible to pay for parts and labor for a part being recalled. *tr

On my way home from work this evening i have never been so afraid, my car cut off at ever stop sign, i am a single lady have to work evenings this is terrible, i was told the dealer who will be fixing my car the recall parts are not in, please help. *tr

After driving approximately 10 - 20 miles, i shut the vehicle off and when i went back to start it about 1 hour later, it would not start. there was a click and nothing. after several attempts and maybe 5 minutes later, the vehicle started. i had no further issues until march 17, 2015 when i went to start my vehicle and again nothing happened. thinking it was a battery, i had it checked out and was told at that time that there was a recall on 2010 journey ignition switches. the recall states that it is on vehicles that were built prior to june 2010. even though my vehicle was built in may 2010, it is not included in the recall. i don't think i should have to pay $700 out of pocket to fix an obvious defective part. please, i would like to know why my vehicle was not included in the recall. *tr

When leaving work last evening, i drove 2 blocks and my car stalled, i went to turn on the hazard lights and the did not come on and the radio stopped working so i hurried took the out the key to restart, as i drove 10 blocks it cut off again i can fell it losing power when it happened so as i'm driving fells like a something is not working because it sluggish but driving, i also noticed the idle does not hit the 2 and it moving to the 1 when sluggish, making note that i have gone to nissan of southlake morrow georgia to report my problem including the key remote not working so i cannot use the alarm or lock my doors every time asking for help even though they gave me a warranty they blew me off as a crazy customer, also when i went to landmark dodge the could not find anything wrong. *tr

Since january 2014 i have taken my vehicle in multiple times to the dealership for intermittent starting issues.it also has a slow crank occasionally this is more random then it not starting. when i try to start it it just clicks. if i wait a few minutes then try to start it again eventually it will start. this car has left me stranded many times and late for work/appointments. the dealership has replaced the tipm fuse box, starter, battery and all key fobs and it still will not start randomly. i have noticed that most of the time when it will not start it is because the car is hot(after being driven for a significant amount of time) or simply just sitting out in the sunlight. when the dealership hooks it up the their machine it does not throw an error code. so they keep telling me "they are scratching their heads they do not know what is wrong and do not know how to fix it" this is not an acceptable answer to me after looking on this website there are multiple complaints for the same issue. chrysler needs to figure it out and put out a recall for it. i have called chryslers customer support multiple times i have had a case open for 4 weeks i have never heard from my case manager just someone calling on her behalf. i can't seem to get anywhere with dodge. i am taking it back to the dealership tomorrow. i have taken it to the dealership every monday for the last 5 weeks. they keep it for 3 or 4 days then send it home with no results.. i am not taking it back from this time without better results. this car is only 4 years old it should be a reliable car. i shouldn't be afraid to take it somewhere. *tr

Purchased a pre-owned 2010 dodge journey last august. having intermittent issues with it starting properly. around november of 2014 the door locks (other than the driver's side door alone) stopped working correctly. the doors would lock every time, but would intermittently fail to unlock anything except for the driver's side. took it to the dealer (as i have a 2 month old that would prefer not to be trapped in a car i can't unlock) and they diagnosed it back to the tipm. it costs $1000 to replace, and as i said i have a 2 month old and don't have the financial means to repair a part that should never have been an issue to begin with. *tr

Car covered under recall 14373000:rq14002...car was repaired before i brought it , but now the problem is happening again. i called chrysler, they agreed to fix it , but said the needed parts were on back order and had no ideal when the need parts (ignition switch and retention ring) would be back instock!!!) chryser said my vin # didn't show up because it had been repaired before i brought it, but they would add me to the list for repair, but they don't know when the parts would be available...i can't drive my car because of the ignition switch and retention ring problems!!! *tr

Car was parked and i thought a neighbor was honking their horn for quite awhile, it stopped, but a little while after that i was walking by the car and it just started beeping. not solid beeping but like it was trying to get my attention. also the car is slow to start (like a dead battery) but i just installed a new battery and the transmission has been banging hard since the first day i got it. i had it in a number of times for the problem, but it would not do it with them in the car. *tr

This vehicle is equipped with a dodge oem remote start system which was activated in this situation. i entered the "remote started" vehicle and went to place my key into the run position. i inadvertently took the key to the start position and upon doing so turned off the radio, power windows, air, turn signals, cluster lights. i was able to drive the vehicle during this incident. these particular items were the only ones i noticed to be non-operational, but there very well possibly could be other critical components such as air bags affected. in order to regain functionality, i had to turn the vehicle to the off position restart. i tried to duplicate the situation but was not able to get to get a recurrence at this time. this is the 2nd time i have had this arise. i was able to capture video of the powerless components and show the vehicle was capable to be driven. i've made an appointment with the local dodge dealership for review. this vehicle did have a win module recall in 2011, and is not currently part of the recent dodge ignition problem recall. *tr

Tried to start my vehicle and it would not start. it would not turn over at all. checked the battery but the battery was fine. had the car taken to a repair shop but it then started fine and after an inspection, they did not find anything wrong. this has since happened twice where i was stranded with the car randomly not starting. i have had to wait a period of time for it to start. i called dodge corporate (chrysler) but they did not seem to have any answers or be concerned. this is definitely a safety issue at this point as i would hate to be stranded somewhere with my car not starting. *tr

2010 dodge journey which we purchased nov. 2013 , main one being the alarm and horn go off randomly, driving down the street, middle of the night.....etc. had the tpim replaced 4 weeks ago which took 2 weeks to diagnose and get the part, this past sunday alarm goes off and won't stop, so in looking for the fuses to remove and stop the alarm i found them in the tpim, basically it is a fuse box that controls the whole electrical system. so back to the dealer again today, again replaced the tpim. one block from home and horn starts going off again. chrysler is aware that this is a problem on several chrysler vehicles mainly ones purchased in 4 states. i even found a site for a class action suit. fortunately we purchased the extended warranty and have only paid a small deductible other than the time and frustration. so back to the dealer tomorrow. i am seriously concerned because it is a safety issue as it can effect airbags, lights, windows and a whole lot more. good luck! we were told today that one customer had 3 different tpim's replaced so far. they are not new, cannot get a new one only refurbished!!!! *tr

While driving at 60 mph on interstate highway, all electrical systems shut down. radio & ac went off, windows would not open, blinkers did not work. took to dealership & was told a new battery was needed. replaced battery & same incident occurred a week later. called dealership. was told to bring back in. spouse gained access to battery (front left wheel must be removed to do this) and made sure wires were connected. electrical failure did not happen again until november 22. again while driving at 60+ mph on interstate highway, radio flickered a few times before completely shutting off, wipers did not work (rainy day), door locks, door windows, blinkers all failed to work. made it to a parking lot where vehicle "chugged" into parking space (like a manual transmission car in 3rd or 4th gear would "chug" if you went slow). called dealership who said to bring vehicle in for a diagnostics test. was told every diagnostics test was run & after 2 days in the service department, nothing could be found. *tr

We bought the car in april 2014. the car's horn will suddenly go off and nothing you do can make it stop. i took the horn fuses out to stop the horn honking. you can still hear clicking under the fuse box. it does it anytime it can be hot outside daytime nighttime sitting still locked up driving down the road. we had to get a new battery a month ago. i thought that might cure the horn honking but it didn't. now we are having same problem other people reported about it taking multiple times to crank it. i think there are serious electrical problems that dodge needs to correct. *tr

Three to four days per week the car will not start. turn the key and you get nothing but a click. i have only owned the vehicle for 2 months and it has done it since the very beginning. have had the dealership and a private mechanic look it over and they have found nothing. it sounds very similar to the issue being corrected by recall now. although this vehicle, so far, has not stalled while driving thank god. am not happy that my "new to me" car is so unreliable.

Random horn honking. vehicle will start honking horn just sitting in the garage or driving down the road. took to dealer but was informed they never heard this problem before. as being a vehicle test driver for volvo vehicles i know about updates. i finally got the dodge dealer to do an update that worked for a few months. the dealer informed me there was no other update. i informed them i thought this was a safety issue. what more can i say, i took the fuses out so the horn would stop honking. next step lawyer?

For the past several months the car will simply turn off while we are driving it. so far we've been able to get the car over to the side of the road to re-start it. i noticed there is a recall regarding this problem, but it seems our vehicle isn't included in the recall. i've taken it to two dealerships, but they cannot locate the source of the trouble. i've contacted dodge directly and have been told, again, that our vehicle isn't included in the recall, and that we can't expect the dealership to repair a problem that they can't find the source of. but this problem isn't new and has been identified in the past - why don't they know the source of the problem? this is our family vehicle and we are concerned about the safety of the car - especially considering the latest news coverage of a similar problem in another brand of automobile. *tr

The car turned itself off while in traffic on cary parkway. tried to restart the car by reinserting fob. it took 10 minutes of removing and reinserting fob in ignition before car started. in the meantime, cars behind me almost ran into me. *js

Just like many 2009 and 2010 journey owners, i too have experienced the vehicle not turning over to start. it has happened approximately 2 dozen times in the past 2 months at random. sometimes the vehicle will not start 3 times in one day and then the problem will not occur for another week. once the key is in the ignition and i turn it, i have battery power, it simply will not push through to actually start the vehicle. this is very irritating and i have not been able to duplicate for the dealer so of course they will do nothing for me. i also have noticed that on the freeway, when getting above 60 the steering wheel feels shaking which is quite terrifying and then if i go to break, it feels very wobbly. again, not something that i can reproduce at the dealer and therefore cannot be fixed. i loved my car for the first couple years i owned it, but lately it is not up to par and worries me to drive with my 2 kids in fear of the unpredictable steering issue or being stranded if it decides to not start at all. *tr

I purchased my 2010 journey used. 2 weeks into having my car one night the horn started blowing nonstop. the horn blow for 5 hours straight. took it back to the dealership and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. a few days the car wouldn't start. i went back to the dealership and they changed the battery and it was fine for about two weeks. and the horn started again and the car wouldn't start again and this time the key was stuck inside of the ignition. the key will stay stuck in the ignition for 30 mins before it comes out. the dealership handed me a piece of paper saying that there was a bulletin out from chrysler about the electrical system but no recall on my car. i have been stuck out so many times with this car i am scared to drive it. i had to take the horn fuse out because the noise gets to my neighbors and no one can figure out how to stop it. i am very disappointed i have a car that i can"t depend on and one no to help me figure it out.
