The braking system has been a serious problem from the first month of my purchase.car was purchased in 2011, rotors & pads front replaced. every year i replace rotors, pads calipers, even the master cylander. recently an entire team of machanics worked several hours on the car, all were frustrated that they could not correct the brake problems. said they have never seen anything like this before in their experience. cost me $1000.00! another problem showing up is the car just shuts off while driving. this , after the key was recalled and replaced. this has just happened twice.

Intermittent non-function of power windows, interior dome lights and dash lights cannot be activated or controlled with steering column controls, rear wiper washer motor activates when rear wiper is turned on, but turns off when the controls are advanced to the spray function. keyless unlock intermittently non-functional. took vehicle to dealership and was diagnosed as a faulty totally integrated power module (timp). unfortunately the journey was omitted from the timp recall campaign leaving the customer on the hook for the repairs. this vehicle should be added to the recall list as it poses a safety risk of lack of wipers and other possible safety issues while driving.

Driving down the interstate, all of a sudden my heating/cooling would shut off along with my radio. then it would come on. it did this several times. shortly after that, my turn signals no longer worked and it caused me to almost get in an accident. i was driving approximately 65-70 mph. it continued to do this even after stopping. a week later, as i got up to go to work in the morning, it wouldn't start. it would just click when attempting. it wasn't sending the signal to the starter to get it going. i was stranded. i feel like my vehicle is possessed and it's really scary. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 dodge journey. while operating the vehicle, the horn randomly sounded. the failure also occurred while the vehicle was shut off and the key was removed from the ignition switch. in addition, while driving, the passenger side air bag indicator remained illuminated. the failures were not diagnosed or repaired. the local dealer (dunes auto, 2502 locust street, sterling, il) was notified, but no assistance was offered. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 30,000.

Vehicle has intermittent problem where, when starting, only a "click" sound is heard, and engine does not start. told originally, that the battery was bad. it was replaced. problem recurred. then told the alternator and starter were bad, so they were replaced. the problem recurred. service department told us that software on the "computer" needed to be updated, so that was done. the problem continues to recur. when vehicle won't start, jumping it won't help. we have to just try over and over again. sometimes it starts after a few tries, sometimes we have to wait 20-30 minutes before engine finally starts. one instance, the vehicle didn't start for an hour. the last communication with the dealer, after having this problem for a number of years, was that they can't fix it because they have no idea what is wrong. this was after spending hundreds of dollars on what turned out to be unnecessary repairs

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 dodge journey. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v373000 (air bags, electrical system); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure.

I was out of town parked at a store would not start. as i was waiting on someone to come help me then 30 mins or so later my car started up. my boys and i cut our vacation short because its very unsafe having your car not start in a place you know no one. we've changed the battery. the next month i was getting gas and it wouldn't start again. i had a person jump me and took it to get checked out and they found nothing wrong with the car. so a month and a half the car did it again i was at the mall and it wouldn't start. this is a horrible feeling not knowing when or if your car is going to start or not. we can't drive out of town in it because the uncertainty if it's going to start or not. which it is unfair to my boys when we at least do something on summer break or fall break or even winter break and we can't even go outside of our city. *tr

The horn will sound without any notice and at any time of the day. you can be in the car or out of it. it can happen at multiple times of the day and can wake you up during the night. i contacted a dealership and was informed they had no knowledge of the problem. although you can go on the internet and there are many complaints and they say they have had their vehicle into the dealership with no solution. it can be unsafe if you are driving down the road and the horn starts honking, but as i say it can happen in your garage at night. as far as i know there is no recall for this, but there should be. this has been going on for at least the last 12 months.

Horn activates on its own and intermittently. this occurs while driving and while stationary and off. turn signal - when right signal is engaged the interior dome light turns on. this occurs only while driving. air bag dash warning light stays lit on dash and makes a "bing" sound this occurs only while driving. it turns on and off only while driving. window switch - driver side window switch functions intermittently. this occurs while in motion and stationary.

The horn blows by itself at all different times.

The horn blows by itself at all different times

The alarm system goes off by itself. the lights flash and the horn blows while the car is off. it can be at different times of the day.

The horn randomly honks without pushing the horn button. this happen both while sitting unattended as well as while driving. very distracting to both driver and others driving near by. we had to pull the fuse's disabling the horn to be able to drive the car. dealer has been unable to resolve. it appears to be a common problem as you can find videos online of the make and model doing the exact same thing our car does. why isn't there a recall on this unsafe condition?

The horn goes off intermittently sometimes just sitting in the driveway. this is dangerous as fellow motorists or pedestrians think that i am blowing my horn at them.

Horn beeps at random times, while parked in driveway, while driving, etc. this causes a severe issue when your horn beeps at others for no reason when driving down road. this seems to be a known issue with this model, however it appears chrysler doesn't fully understand the cause or fix.

Ignition switch spring getting stuck. key fob will not go in or come out without force.

Rear door locks will not open with the key fob or by pushing the unlock door button from inside the car. if you manuall open the rear doors by pulling up ont he knob they will not lock when driving or with the key fob or by hitting the door lock butoon. this is a known issue and dodge chrysler will not fix it

About a year ago my car horn started going off at random. i could be driving or it could be sitting stationary/not running and the horn would blow intermittently or constantly. i have almost cause a few accidents being stopped behind someone and then the horn blows and they start to go on a red light. i have taken it to my regular mechanic over 25 times and even took it to the glendale chrysler dealership. of course when it was there it didn't do anything and they said there was no problem. i even have it on video showing what it does. i have seen numerous complaints on this issue and am appalled that chrysler cannot figure out what this problem is. i have been driving around for over a year without my horn.

My horn started going off in the middle of night, constantly. it even goes off while driving. then my locks don't pull down so anyone can open my doors and no alarm since i had to disconnect my horn. i've seen many youtube videos of other vehicle owners have the same issue and dodge will not acknowledge this issue. very dangerous to not have a horn esp. driving in ny. don't ever buy dodge/jeep/chrysler..horrible company.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 dodge journey. while driving 40 mph, the vehicle stalled. the contact was able to restart the vehicle; however, the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. the contact was informed that the ignition switch needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v373000 (air bags, electrical system). the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 62,000.

Horn/alarm goes off while i'm driving or while car is parked in drive way

My car almost caught a fire from the cigeratti lighter when i was charging my cell phone and also my horn go off on its on for a certain amount of time and the lights as well

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 dodge journey. when the contact attempted to start the vehicle, a clicking noise was heard, but it failed to start and all of the instrument panel indicators illuminated. the failure recurred several times. the vehicle was towed to suburban chrysler dodge jeep ram of farmington hills (248-476-7900, located at 38123 w 10 mile rd, farmington hills, mi 48335) where the technician stated that an unknown part was draining the battery. the contact was advised to purchase a battery maintainer. the dealer kept the vehicle overnight for observation. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and promised to follow-up with the dealer. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 79,000.

My vehicle has an ignition issue. the key will turn back to acc mode while trying to start or going down the road. this has been reviewed by beaman auto in murfreesboro, tn and they agree that the ignition is the issue. the dealer/chrysler refuse to deal with this under the ignition switch recall.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 dodge journey. when the vehicle was started, it made a clicking noise but failed to start right away. there was no warning indicator illuminated. the contact stated that it took multiple attempts to start the vehicle most of the time. the failure recurred several times. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed and replaced the starter. the failure recurred. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 82,000.... updated 08/23/16 *bf

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 dodge journey. the contact stated that the horn became operable independently without warning. the failure recurred randomly. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where the cause of the failure could not be determined. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

Horn blows intermittently while driving or while parked unattended. unsafe for this to occur while driving.

Recall r03/nhtsa 14v-373: my dealer can not make this repair as it claims insufficient parts and a large back log of cars needing this recall. the dealer claims it receives repair kits on a 1 for 1 basis, getting only a few kits at a time. i have attempted this recall repair three times, each time being turned away due to no kit on hand. the vehicle has had a number of ignition module failures while driving, and a previous recall kit (l25) was installed.

Headlight on passenger side does not work on high or low beams. it started not coming on the next morning after they where working fine 6 hours earlier and i've had everything checked and can't seem to find nothing wrong except them not working. i even replace the bulbs and they still didn't work and nothing was wrong with the old bulbs though the mechanic did not find nothing wrong i think it's the plug-in that you plug the light into.

1st complaint : when starting the car , wipers go on and wont shut off ,and signals stop working, 2nd complaint: driving home from work car, starts to shutter when aproaching stop sign then car completely shut off on its own, took me 20 minutes to get it started again

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 dodge journey. while driving 5 mph, the vehicle stalled and had to be coasted to the side of the road. the contact shifted into neutral and restarted the vehicle after the third attempt. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the ignition switch failed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 57,797.

When i turned off the engine and removed the key and stepped outside the vehicle i noticed the engine was still running. engine continued to run for 45 minutes to an hour. when i reentered vehicle to try the key again it would not shut off and was unable to shift the gear lever. the vehicle was at a clients location so i drove it home and parked it in the driveway where it continued to run for about an hour when i removed the key. i had the vehicle towed to premier of cape cod the only dodge dealer on cape cod. i was told it was an electronic computer module. to replace the module with 2 new keys the cost would be $1,038.00 installed. i submitted a safety claim with the chrysler/dodge regional office and was denied. i was offered a year of free oil changes and no reimbursement as vehicle warranty was over. the vehicle was a 2010 with 74,470 miles. my concern is that this could very well been a safety issue as vehicle kept running and could not be secured. it seems to me that this should have been issued a recall as upon investigating further this model and year had a history of this issue. a $1,038.00 repair for a computer module is not your average issue/repair.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 dodge journey. the contact stated that the horn became inoperable without warning. the contact was concerned that the horn would malfunction while the vehicle was in motion. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 139,665.

Windows and locks open and close after car has been turned off and locked.

The horn beeps randomly. it seems to happen more right before a thunderstorm hits or when a storm is in the area. also the car sometimes won't start. the starting problem has been an on going problem since the first year of owner ship. i'm the original owner and have had the car in for all of the recalls including the fob replacement. i feel this car is a lemon and wish i had never purchased it. my plymouth voyager was a very dependable car and i was expecting the same from the journey but that has not been the case with this car.

Bought 2010 dodge journey (used) from tom wood ford dealership. i have made 3 payments. the vehicle would not start leaving me stranded in a parking lot. i tried to jump it without success. when i turned the key to jump it, white smoke came from the engine compartment and there was a strong odor of melting plastic. i grabbed my kid and belongings and fled the vehicle. i had it towed to shop. they replaced the battery and sent me on my way. the next day it started rough. i drove it approximately 2 miles to a gas station. it would not restart. had it towed back to shop for further evaluation. all lights, radio, power windows, etc. are functioning, starter makes clicking sound, alternator checked out ok, new battery installed, but it will not start. mileage is 81,759. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 dodge journey. the contact stated that after the vehicle was serviced under nhtsa campaign number: 14v373000 (air bags, electrical system), the vehicle failed to start as the instrument panel illuminated. in addition, the contact stated that the horn and the radio operated independently. the failure recurred two times. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the that the tipm failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 95,000.

Takata recall when slowing down to a stop light the car locked the steering and breaks. the traction control light came on. i was unable to come to a complete stop and ended up going halfway through the light. i turned the car off then back on. it was fine. about a month later the same thing happened as we were driving on the highway. we had no control over the steering or breaks. i contacted the dealer and they said there was no open recall so they would not fix it for free. i just bought the car two months ago.

Takata recall el auto tiene problemas para prender y cuando va corriendo empieza a fallar hasta que apaga y luego tarde en prender.y cuando lo pones en drive para arrancar falla y se apaga

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 dodge journey. the contact stated that the vehicle required multiple attempts to start. the failure recurred intermittently. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed, but the cause of the failure was unknown. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 60,000.

Takata recall on 4/06/2016, my keypad would not lock my doors. on 04/09/2016, it began to work again. after starting my engine and driving my car for 1 minute, my car stalled on me. i proceeded to start my vehicle again, only for it to shut down for the second time. after my vehicle immediately shut down, everything went completely out. i could not let my windowa down, doors would not lock nor unlock radio will not play. windshield wipers would not work. when i attempted to jump start my vehicle with a boost, smoke begin to appear from under the hood near the battery posts. i contacted a dodge dealership in my area and are currently waiting on the diagnostic results. i will be visiting the nhtsa site today to provide you with an update.
