I own the vehicle in question and have on several ocasions contacted the dealership neilson dodge in east hanover, nj where i purchased the vehicle from to fix the systems involvled in this recall, but to no avail. they have told me they do not have the parts to complete the repairs. my car has failed to start several different times and has shut off while i was driving once. there have also been a few times when the vehicle has started, but no electrical systems have worked execpt for the engine. i drive 60 miles to work per day on roads with speeds of 45-50 mph which creates a dangerous situation if the electrical system were to shut down. i am at a loss as to how to proceed and how that nhtsa can be of assistance to me.

I am not able to open any doors except the driver door. the trunk will not open and dodge did not build a manual key entry for this model. also i have a starting problem the car stalls and won't start unless i put it in neutral or jiggle the gear up into drive and back into park. the car turns very slowly when making left hand turns and the engine revs up sometimes when it's trying to pick speed back up after a turn. the dealer told us it was the battery and we had them install a new one but the issue is still there. i've read several complaints about the same issue. customers getting their batter, starters all the recalls updated because they were told those were the issues but was not as their issue still existed as do mine. i don't want to spend a fortune at the dealer until they find what the problem is. the manufacturer should know what the problem is from all the complaints being the same. i emailed them for suggestions of what they think it may be and they just said take it to the dealership.

Attempted to used the remote to unlock the doors but it would not work. changed the battery still did not work. had to use the key to unlock the driver door manually. once in the door locks buttons would not unlock the other doors. had to open front passenger door manually from insidchre the car. pull up the door locks on both rear doors in order for the to be opened. once the car was on we noticed the rear wiper blade does not work nor does the trunk open. there is no manual way to open the trunk at all. i've checked the manual and it never described this issue. googled it and a lot of others has described this happening to their car but no one can pin point the issue. we changed the fuse this now allowed the driver door only to unlock using the remote, but we still have to manually unlock the rear doors to open them and pull the handle on the front passenger door to open it, as it can't be opened at all from the outside. changing the fuse did not have an affect on the rear wiper or the trunk. i've never seen a vehicle where the trunk has no other way to be opened. this made it very hard to get to the handle for the spare tire. received call from customer service after a facebook complaint and they advised we needed to bring it in to the dealer so they can figure it out. we are skeptical because a few months prior to that we took it to the dealer to fix a very bad drag. when you make a left hand turn the car drags and goes really slow and takes a few seconds to get back to normal speed. the dealer charged us close to $500 and did not fix the problem. they fixed something that did not need fixing and told us if was fixed we had to turn around not even a minute after pulling off the lot with it to advise them it was not fixed. they wanted to keep charging us for different things because they could not figure out what it was. we declined because no money for guesses.

My name is [xxx] and i am complaining about my 2009 dodge journey r/t awd. first the electrical system or wiring harness has a severe problem. it does not want to start like it should. i've been through 2 good interstate batteries in the last 2 years that have not seemed to work. next and the most dangerous is the braking system which is to small for this vehicle. from what i have researched they used a braking system from a dodge magnum(in the series 1 from 2008-2012) when it should have been used from an suv. the rotors where out after 9000 miles while the front pads go after 3000-4000 miles. leaving the back brake pads with the longest life of around 5000 miles this is with aggressive or non-aggressive driving it doesn't matter. this kind of brake and rotor wear and tear is nowadays unheard of. this kind of vehicle is unsafe and very expensive for the average american vehicle owner. these vehicles are as plain as day as much of a lemon as they come. between the electrical or ignition problems that are as plain as day and can not be fixed by your average mechanic and thousands of dollars. also the breaking system which is to small that also can't be fixed without many thousand dollars worth of parts and labor. not to mention the thousands that have already been put into these problems that did not fix for long. the only other thing that i feel that can happen is for there to be a recall by dodge. to fix the electrical-ignition problem and to have a bigger breaking system put on like they did the (series 2 journey from 2012 on till now). and the braking issues are better. so if they can do it now why can they fix the series 1. i think it's a combination of laziness and greediness with there money. pleas help my vehicle right along with the other tens of thousands who have the same problems. don't let dodge get away with this and help make these problems an active recall !! information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
