For the past year my vehicle will intermittently not start when i turn the key. sometimes this will happen for one turn, sometimes for many turns, sometimes for 10 hours of attempted turns. when it does finally start the vehicle performs as you would expect it to, as though nothing is wrong. sometimes this "no start" issue is a daily event/ multiple times a day. sometimes a week will go by without it acting up. in the beginning it was occurring less frequently. the occurrence rate and severity has definitely increased over time.

October 2014. the tipm malfunctioned causing an electrical fire that melted the fuse box and all of the wire harnesses. the entire electrical system had to be replaced and cost $6,000 out of pocket. the horn, radio, loss of lights, and wiper fluid activated causing me to be unable to see at 50mph. then i lost all power as smoke came into the vehicle. i put the van in neutral and turned off the ignition key and coasted to a safe area. i was unable to get into my wheelchair from the drivers seat and was forced to exit the drivers side door. i have a wheelchair accessible van with a folding ramp out of passenger sliding door. my drivers seat is a 6 way power seat the slides back and turns. i transfer from my wheelchair to the drivers seat. luckily i had someone with me who could get my wheelchair and bring it to the drivers side door so i could get out of the van. we were even luckier that the van didn't burst into flames. woodbury dodge of nj refused to work on my van made false statements, and had me take it elsewhere. the same issue happened again on 1/19/16 - see that post

After put the gearshift on park position, and turn off the engine, the key fob will stuck on acc position and can not come out. need to restart the engine and switch the gearshift to other positions and push back to park position one or more times, then it may come out. the key stuck issue happened about 3 out of 10 from a month ago. *tr
The wireless ignition node module will not turn off completely and gets stuck in the accessory mode. i must turn the vehicle back on, put it in gear, and then back to park several times before the key will finally go to the off stage and i can pull the key out. this happens very often. i received a recall notice for the win module (r03/nhtsa 14v-373) and upon calling the only dodge dealership in my area, i have been put on a wait list because the dealership is only receiving two to three repair kits at a time and i may be waiting several months for a repair. the recall states, "this could cause unintended engine shut off and increase the risk of a crash." this should be handled immediately, but it is not.
I was driving home from work at 10pm on the freeway and my headlights went off then they flashed 3 times tried using my brights and all my lights shut off.the only lights that got me home safe was my park lights.i changed my bulbs still not the problem. *tr

While driving the ignition switch turned off and resulted in a loss of power steering and brakes. vehicle was in heavy traffic and almost caused a multiple car pileup. this has been happening for months. dodge charged me $89 to diagnose and the result was the dealer told me to get an oil change and my radiator cap might be leaking. i contacted dodge corporate escalating to a manager with no results. my wife and kids could have been killed. i was forced to trade to vehicle which costs me lots of money loss. dodge did not care and either did the dealer. there are no other keys on the key ring to interfere. *tr

2010 dodge grand caravan did not start. this has been an intermittent problem. it has been happening for approximately 1 year. turn the key and all of the accessories work but starter clicks but will not turn the motor over. took vehicle to the dealer on 4/30/2014 and was told the starter was bad and was replaced. drove the vehicle to school that day to pick up child and vehicle did not start. after several tries it started. drove to work later in the day, shut the vehicle down and tried to restart it and it would not start. battery has been tested and is good. all signs point to a faulty win. after reading recalls about win wireless interface node modules, i, like several other people, have found that my vehicle does not fall under this recall, missing it by 3 months. vehicle has been brought back to the dealer to try to get the vehicle to duplicate the problem. contacted chrysler/dodge's 1 800 number and was told the complaint was going to be escalated to the next level because i have called them before about this issue. i now fear that it will shut down when i'm traveling or will not start when i need it to and be left stranded. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 dodge grand caravan. while driving approximately 45 mph, the traction control sensor light suddenly illuminated and the vehicle would not respond when the accelerator pedal was depressed. after turning the vehicle off and restarting the engine, the vehicle resumed normal operation. the contact also indicated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer and the recall remedy for nhtsa campaign number: 14v373000 (electrical systems) was performed to replace the ignition switch. after replacing the switch, several electrical systems in the vehicle suddenly shut off, including the door locks, power windows, power brakes, and power steering. while examining the vehicle, it was determined that the electrical systems would shut off but the engine would continue to operate if the ignition key was rotated slightly too far. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 95,501.
I was driving down the road around dusk, when the headlights suddenly turned off. all parking lights, interior lights and radio worked. however, i had no low beam or high beam headlights. this issue keeps recurring every month or two for the last 1.5yrs and nobody seems to know the cause. when taken to be looked at the headlights seem to work fine and the problem can't be duplicated at that time. i have noticed if the tipm is jiggled and the van is restarted, they will work fine again for about 1hr or so. very frustrating and extremely dangerous for my family and other people on the road.
