Vehicle just quits. only thing showing is the anti lock brake light. have taken to dealer and there have been no codes associated with these continuing problems of the engine quitting. this has happened on numerous occasions. *tr

Van was parked in our garage. we got in to go to church and the van would not start!! i put my foot on the brake and it was rock-hard and when i turned the key it just clicked and tried to start then died. i continued to try to start by moving the shift lever/hitting the brake/turning the key and the van started and we went to church. today, 10/29/14, i parked my van at winn-dixie and went inside to shop. when i returned to leave the same symptoms exhibited and finally the van started. i called my dealer and was told that it may be associated with the recall on my key fob electronic shifter recall, but there were no parts available yet. i was also asked if there was an engine light that went on and i said no. i was told that then they could not check on their computers for the problem unless the "check engine light" had exhibited. so, here i am--------------------what should i do????? *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2008 dodge grand caravan. the contact was driving 15 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the contact mentioned that while attempting to avoid crashing into another vehicle, the contact steered to the left crashing into the guard rail. the contact was not injured. a police report was not filed. the vehicle was taken to the dealer. the technician informed the contact that the vehicle was included in recall nhtsa campaign number: 14v373000 (electrical system). however, the parts needed to remedy the failure were not available. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 90,000.
Driving on the thruway with my family the van stalled twice without warning, although it would restart immediately and luckily there wasn't so much traffic. have been having issues with dashboard lights(emergency brake, esp/bas, abs & traction) coming on every time i turn on the van and start driving. the sliding doors either open by themselves or don't want to close, i have to repeatedly push the buttons to get it to close and also at times the door stops halfway and starts clicking. i had previously taken the van to a dodge dealer where they "fixed" the door problem, but after some time it again began with the same problem. my transmission constantly keeps shifting to 6th gear so i either have to turn off the van or shift down the gear to d in order to open or close the doors. the ignition key has been getting stuck on acc and doesn't want to come out. this is a very serious situation that needs to be addressed asap, before someone looses their life! the manufacturer needs to take action and make the necessary measures and precautions to protect the lives of consumers , not just the ones that are driving these unsafe vehicles but as well as those that are around us!!! (for many of us, this is our only transportation to get to and from work or like myself drive the kids to school and activities). *tr
My car turned off completely when the key fob turned by itself. my vehicle narrowly missed being rear ended by a tractor trailer, whose driver jumped out screaming at me. i reported the problem to the dealer and he said car had been recalled for that problem, they did not have the part. i drove from sc to nj! scary. recall number is l25/nhtsa14v-373. i also reported this to chrysler on sept 25, 2014. my case number is 8r117647. my van turned off a second time. i have contacted chrysler three times on this matter and they have no idea when the part will be available. they refused to pay for a rental car saying that the part would be available anywhere from a few weeks to up to a year.your website says that the part is available but my dealership said they do not have the part as of today. can you please help? i am scared to death to be out driving. any help would be appreciated. *tr
This relates to chrysler safety recall l25 for wireless ignition node. our van shuts off while driving without any warning and there is no steering and braking. this is the primary vehicle we carry 2 young children in and it is extremely upsetting that this recall has not been addressed. our van shut off 3 times in the last 2 weeks while carrying our kids. the local dealership reports there is a national back-order and no parts are available to fix it. how is this possible? what are we supposed to do? this is very unsafe and totally unacceptable! please help! *tr

Van shuts off while driving loses all power, wipers come on horns starts going off. now today van is in driveway parked ,i'm in the house and the alarm and wipers go off. call dealer they have no clue. people could get killed do they want a general motors issue on their hands as from reading on line this seems to be a major issue with this make and model. *tr
There is a current recall on our vehicle, the l25 win module detention ring. the vehicles key can move into the accessory mode and the car shuts off, no power steering, no bower brakes, no airbag etc. vehicle just rolls to a stop. this has happened 5 times while my wife is driving the car with our 3 children inside. this is extremely dangerous for my family and others on the roadway. dodge does not have the part to fix my vehicle and can not tell me when this part will come available. they are not willing to do anything for me and just tell me they understand my situation and they are sorry. i'm told by dodge customer service, 800-334-9200 that they have been aware of this problem since 2011. i would hope that you can follow up with dodge as this is a huge safety concern. *tr
They did not open in 3 van wreaks - the faulty tipm fuse boxes were put in at the factory (reconditioned fuse boxes) dodge has admitted to this in the dodge durango's. there are many many more models in the chrysler/dodge group of cars and trucks with this same problem but they are making money hand over fist at their repair shops so why fix it there is a easy fix they are not telling you about, the capacitors in your car,van or truck are over loading to fix all you have to do is disconnect the battery both the negative and positive sides for 24 the fist time, then 3 hours, then again each time for 1 hour when you see a faulty light come on or lights on you dash panel flashing or your engine shuts off while driving.this should clear up after 3 times of doing this.this worked for me my van does not shut off anymore,no more dash lights flashing.you may have to do this more than 3 times ?.but it works has been over a year now. happen while driving and sitting still.

I received a wireless ignition node module defect safety recall from chrysler in july 2014. your data base suggests may 2015 as the date, but it's wrong. this is much older. the original recall was l25 nhtsa 14v-373. the fiat chrysler hotline for recalls has the number as r03. they have failed to correct this defect within a reasonable time, because this is 14 months. a reasonable time might be a few weeks, i think. i call dealers here in the st louis area, they promise to call me when parts are in. i called the recall hotline for fiat chrysler, i complain to my state's attorney general for consumers, and get nowhere. all i hear is "we can't get the parts." well, i know many, many model cars are in this recall; not only gm, but jeep, dodge, etc. but i can't help it -- i am the one who is in trouble for the faulty ignition and fobik, and this package has fiat chrysler's name on it. it's time to twist their arms really hard. this is safety. the safety recall hotline at chrysler says this is their part, and they're not doing it, and i quote, "i don't know what to tell you." well, tell them....... i think i should be given a car to drive that is safe until they can do this required recall. or they can refund my car price and the price of my lift equipment installed for a scooter lift in the rear of the car. i've had it. waiting and hoping are not getting us drivers anywhere. they've got to do something and now before someone else dies.
Serious safety issue. my van starts on its own. the horn blares and won't stop. wipers come on and the engine won't stop. does this without a key in the ignition. when driving you lose complete control of the transmission and the engine will not turn off. dodge needs to do a recall and something needs to be done. i'm afraid to park in the garage because it starts on its own. i'm worried the carbon monoxide will asphyxiate my family. i've called the dodge main headquarters and they play dumb like they never heard of this happening. i found thousands of complaints online. it's in the dodge dealer right now. hoping to fix the issue. they don't know what the problem is. the actual problem is called a bad tipm (totally integrated power module). *tr
Vehicle started accelerating unintentionally with engine going to high rpm. driver was driving at 45 mph as vehicle randomly took off. vehicle reached close to 85 mph with the brake pedal pressed to the floor. driver avoided a near collision with another vehicle. driver turned the ignition off in order to stop the vehicle. vehicle had two people inside during the incident and two witnesses following the vehicle behind, in another car. witnesses described seeing the dodge caravan take off suddenly beyond the legal speed limit, with smoke pouring out from the brakes and the brake lights on. driver described that he felt the throttle pedal physically stuck and the vehicle's rpm increasing, even while pressing and pumping on the brake pedal. after this incident and doing some research, we have found numerous complains online with similar situations. the dodge caravan, in this incident, does not have any aftermarket floor mats as dodge claims to be the cause of unintentional acceleration in similar occurrences that have been reported to dodge. the driver, passenger, and the witness are willing to make a statement, if necessary. *tr
On multiple occasions beginning in june '14 my 08 dodge grand caravan sxt would have random electrical malfunctions including synced, intermittent activation of horns, front wipers, rear wipers, front washer fluid spray, rear washer fluid spray, and door locks. these issues would generally come together in "episodes" that could last from about a minute to about 10 minutes. these episodes could occur in rapid succession, separated by only a few seconds, or they might have 5-10 minutes or sometimes days between happenings. this would cause sudden loss of visibility while driving, as the sprayers would cover the windshield with drops but the wipers would not complete a pass to remove the fluid. it was particularly dangerous at night, since the drops would refract light and make visibility almost zero. this also resulted in being locked out of the vehicle on multiple occasions, once with children trapped inside!! while the problems were happening, the remote "clicker" could not be used to unlock or open doors or lift-gate. the only way to enter the vehicle was to use the physical key and force the lock to turn against the pressure of the powered door lock motor repeatedly re-locking the doors other intermittent problems: transmission would not advance beyond 2nd gear, the check engine light would come on, the dashboard lights would flash and flicker, the back-up camera would flicker (the image is displayed on the radio's screen when the vehicle is in reverse), the dashboard displays would all be turned off or to zero (including tachometer even though the engine was running), and the engine would not shut off with the key switched to "off" and completely removed. now, the wipers have stopped working completely, which is a perpetual safety issue, until the problems can be solved. koons dodge of tysons corner said the problem was the tpim (totally integrated power module). *tr

The engine keeps on shutting off while i am driving. the first time i was backing out of my driveway. it sounded like the key popped out but it was still in the ignition. the second time i was just pulling off to drive. i was going under 10 mph and i hit a bump and the engine just turned off while i was driving. the third time i was driving down a residential road going about 30 mph and the engine just turned off again. so dangerous. *tr
Car's engine automatically turned off while driving on road. lost all power. *tr
As i was driving home from the store this morning, i was taking a turn onto my street when the engine shut off and i lost power steering and brakes. i was barely able to muscle the steering wheel to complete the rest of the turn and avoid hitting another car that was turning to go the way that i was coming from. the lady in the other car was looking at me in fear with her arms raised like "what are you doing!?" i tried to turn the engine on several times with no luck as i coasted down my street forcefully pumping the brakes to slow down and stop in front of my house. once i took the key out of the ignition and tried to restart the engine, it started. i did some research on the internet and this seems to be a problem with other models as well. there is even a recall on dodge grand caravans that were manufactured from 3 august 2009 to 17 june 2010 for this exact problem. i have read on this website and many others that this issue exists outside these dates though and that the dodge company is not doing anything. i have not consulted with my dealership yet but i am hopeful because they seem to be great people. whatever the case, i do not feel safe having my wife drive my children around. i do not feel as if she would be able to muscle the steering wheel without power steering during a turn in the event that the car turned off in the middle of a turn as it did to me. this is a huge safety issue and there should be a recall issued to encompass all the years that are affected and not just the ones where people have been killed. *tr

Passenger side rear sliding door locks and will not unlock with key fob or unlock button on both front doors. it also will not open with a pull on the inside door handle. you have to manually unlock it on that door before it will open. i think this would cause a issue if i ever need to get my kids out in a hurry! also this van has 30000 miles on it and it uses approximately 1-1/2 quart of oil every 1000 miles. its not showing any sighs of leaking anywhere in the engine or under the van and not leaving any puddles anywhere. i asked the dodge dealership and they said this was normal for a dodge vehicle.... in my eyes that should not be using that much oil. i am using what is required 10w20 sae according to me owners manual. i have replaced the pcv valve and still continuing to loose oil. *tr
This vehicle has an outstanding recall issue l25 wireless ignition code. we purchased the vehicle in april 2014 at which time we have experience a handful of complete shut down of the vehicle while traveling up to 35 mph. daily the ignition must be turned 4-5 times before starting or will start and immediately shut down. we have removed all extra keys and key chains as stated by chrysler. calling chrysler has been unsuccessful as they have a recording claiming the recall parts are not available at this time and wait times for over 15 mins will not still allow you to talk to someone in person. therefore the local dealership is unable to repair. is gm offering a free loaner until this vehicle is declared safe? i have a payment and do no longer wish to drive this vehicle. i have also tried to sell it for over a month with no luck. we are honest people and would inform buyer of outstanding recall unlike the dealer in which we purchased from. we have contacted our auto lender do start paper work on a voluntary repossession, however this will impact our credit greatly and we will also be responsible for the defaulted difference between the auction price and our loan.
Van would not start at times or would stall out at times while driving and lose all power and brakes when we hit door open button it would open half way while my kids would be getting out then shut on them. van now won't start at all got towed and the diagnostic came back the win module is cause of failure(wireless ignition module). *tr
Driving down normal road when car shut down, engine died. was able to pull over and restart the car. this same event has happened three times.
I opened the driver side manual sliding door and then the horn started to blow constantly, the front and rear windshield wipers turned on, the hazard lights flashed, the reverse lights were on, the instrument panel had many warning lights on including a red dot on the bottom. i tried to hit my car alarm button to see if it would make it stop and it didn't. i closed the door as my son ran into the house and then all the doors locked. i had to use the valet key to open the door. i then pulled the hood release and opened the hood. the radiator fan was also on. i disconnected the battery so the horn would stop blowing. i waited about 20 minutes and went back outside and reconnected the battery and it did the same thing again. this time i tried starting the car and it started however it would not allow me to put it into gear. i tried to turn the engine off but it would not let me. i got out and then i removed the fuses to the horn so the noise would not disturb me or the neighbors. a few minutes later i got back into the car and it let me put it in reverse so i pulled the van out of our garage and into the driveway but the power steering did not work. i tried again to turn the engine off but it would not stop. i even moved the key to the off position and removed the key from the ignition and the engine continued to run. i disconnected the battery again but the engine continued to run as did the wipers and hazard lights. after about 10 minutes the engine finally shut off. this same type of incident happened before to us in 2012. see videos i took with my cell phone here http://youtu.be/yofejj5hfz8 http://youtu.be/h0ufsviu0ve http://youtu.be/jewqwffz73g http://youtu.be/p1n1cwqivy0. *tr
My vehicle lost all power while driving. no power steering, no power brakes. it has done this four times! feb 2013, june 2013, july 2014, and feb 2015. i recived recall r03/nhtsa 14v-373 and l25 / nhtsa 14v-373 and contacted kings chrysler jeep dodge (dealer from whom i purchased the vehicle) in february 2015 and they are reporting they still do not have a replacement part as of july 16, 2015. they told me i am one of 200 and offered no timeframe for the repair. i will not drive this vehicle because i am afraid it will fail and result in a catastrophic wreck where others, my passengers or i may be killed!

While driving, the engine stalled. my wife had to pull over while turning to restart the van. this happens intermittently. this issue happens weather the engine is cold or warmed up. when the van stalls, an engine light comes on. the light goes off after a few days. my mechanic can't find the problem. i see that chrysler had a recall for their 2010 models because of an ignition switch issue. this is a very serious issue. my wife is afraid to drive the van because she doesn't know when the van will stall and loose all power. this is serious because when the van stalls, she looses all power steering. my wife has to try to put the van into neutral to get it started while driving and or turning the vehicle. this model year van has no recalls from dodge for this issue . what am i to do . i do not want to wait for an accident to happen before someone fixes this issue. i have read the chat forums, and many people are frustrated because there are no solutions to this problem. *tr
The van completely shut down while i was in the middle of making a u turn. the engine, the electrical just stopped working and the steering wheel got really tight but i was able to glide to the side of the road. i turned the key to the off position put the van in park and then i was able to restart it. i took it to dodge and they repaired the power steering saying that was the problem. not so, this has happened 3 times since the first and nothing has been done to repair the problem. today is 8/29/2014 and i am stranded because it won't turn on at all. waiting for aaa. *tr
Plastic y adapter that connects the two heater core hoses began leaking as a drip onto the exhaust. the leak was so slight and random that it was tough to locate. however you could smell the antifreeze as it burns off because it comes directly into the cab. i have read that chrysler is not recalling this due to it not being a safety issue. i tend to disagree with this as inhaling antifreeze can overtime can be harmful as ingesting it is. and since this is typically a family vehicle could affect younger children greater such as my 14 month old and three older children under the age of 11. chrysler will fix this at the dealer for a whopping $350 and to buy the part alone to dyi is $140. this is ridiculous as it can be replaced with $10 worth of parts from local auto parts store. so not only is there a problem that should be recalled due to the safety risk, but chrysler is charging way too much for the repair. i love this van, but hope this is the worst thing i have to deal with going forward. bought the vehicle new, had all recalls done to date and plan to keep this vehicle for the next ten years. thanks for hearing me out and for your time! please look at this and require chrysler to recall to help out all of the people who will have this problem going forward and will go broke fixing this $5 part.
While driving car win module moves from on position to accessory position causing car to shut off car does not always start even with new battery and starter
This is a repetitive, almost daily problem. when vehicle is first driven in the morning, it stalls during driving after about 1 to 2 miles of travel. this stalling has occurred daily at speed around 30 mph, and i have to quickly push control to neutral, try to restart ignition (usually starts in about 2 to 3 seconds) to regain power steering and power brake controls. this condition has almost caused an accident on several occasions as steering and braking is significant reduced as engine stalls (i.e. no power). i saw in reading internet stories, that 2010s were recalled after 2 accidents. i fear i may be an accident, and have taken vehicle to repair, but no trouble has been found yet. if chrysler/dodge know about a faulty/defective problem, i really hope they will notify me immediately. i have sent an email to dodge customer service in hopes of getting an answer quickly. meanwhile, i'll try to anticipate the stall as much as i can to avoid an accident, as i have a need to continue to drive this vehicle even with this faulty condition. *tr

a need a recall on tipm part which controls the engine which turns it on and off. now a recall is due>becauase it is the issue with vehicle because now the ealerships are saying it is the issue or what is causing it to turn off.as a dodge owner of a grand caravan, from the time i brought the vehicle there were issues. first it started with the vehicle turning itself off and did start back. so the dealership fix it. then it was the brakes and rotors on the front end. fix , repair, issues again, then issues again. so many other issues with this van later on. but i decided not to complain to dodge company.. boy do i regret it now..it's been almost 4 years now, i still have issues with the engine cutting off while driving. this has gone on for awhile, then recall come out saying it's the engine switch, so now we are waiting on the it, still... when i have did some research and ask some people with computer knowledge on vehicles and they say by the engine cutting off while driving can cause issues with the tipm part (computer). i have taken it so many times to the dealership for this reason for the engine shutting it self off, they would brush it off it's the battery, got new battery then it happen again. then took it back again , no engine light on , then they can't diagnose any issues. now warranty is out.. still no part for the recall engine switch.... 2015. now that the engine is still shutting it self off, dealership is now saying its the tipm part which is 1200. or more... i believe it has been the issue the whole time, so dodge needs to have a recall on this part before someone is kill... i worry about it happening to my family.i have three children. it's our only vehicle.. as of today still no part available.call dodge - no help from them. they need to have a recall on the tipm part before its to late.

I am experiencing electrical problems with the 2008 grand caravan. the van cuts off while moving. the lights blink. the radio suddenly turns on. sometimes the doors will not unlock. the problems all appear to be related to the computer malfunctioning in the van. the may cause an accident if the van loses power and control while driving. *tr
On numerous occasions my 2008 dodge grand caravan sxt will shut down unexpectedly while driving. plugs, wires and battery have been changed. win module has been changed at my request and not covered under warranty. the vehicle has been to the dealership numerous times and they have been able to find anything because no codes have been thrown. i replaced the fob recently thinking the key my be worn out but that has not improved the situation. dodge is aware of the issue but refuse to do anything about it until i guess someone id killed. thanks dodge. *tr
I was driving about 5 mph leaving my place of work and the vehicle stalled as i was driving it and i lost power steering and power brakes-very scary-fortunately i was just leaving work and not driving too fast. i was able restart it and drove home without another issue. then a couple weeks later, the vehicle did the same thing. i was going about 10 mph when the vehicle stalled again-no power steering or brakes-very scary!- the vehicle has also failed to turn over for no apparent reason-this has happened at least 3-4 times, i will go to start it -it seems dead-but then i wait a minute and then restart-and it turns over no problem-no rhyme or reason as to why these things occur. *tr
Driving the vehicle on a residential street. engine quit suddenly and unexpectedly. steering and brakes failed. vehicle went off the road, over the curb and came to a stop. no property damage or bodily harm. if we had been traveling at highway speeds, fear of death would have been a real concern. the engine would not start for approximately a minute after the incident. engine finally started and the vehicle was taken to a dodge dealership. diagnosed as a 'bad win module' (wireless ignition node). the technician actually guessed the problem was the win module before diagnosing the problem. he said it was a 'fairly common problem'. an online investigation revealed this part has a recall associated with it in the 2010 dodge grand caravan (our dodge grand caravan is a 2008). the reason i am writing the nhtsa is the newly replaced win module is clearly a redesigned part. it looks and functions differently than the old, faulty win module. if dodge redesigned the part, they must have assumed the earlier design was defective in some way. to justify the need for a redesign, there had to be some driving factor like improved safety. it is my belief that this defect had the real potential of causing death and i am requesting the nhtsa investigate this matter. am i the first to have lodged a complaint regarding this part? thank you for your time and attention. i look forward to your response. *tr

Intermittent electrical issues - fails to start; interior dash panel lights, driver side passenger door not closing, drivers door not locking - all intermittent
There is a coolant leak coming from the y shaped diverter tube. the rubber has apparently been overheated due to its location over the hot engine. many people have complained about this on forums. there needs to be a recall to have this replaced. the noxious smell of antifreeze comes in through the vents, and smoke pours out from under the hood. radiator is soon empty of all coolant and the engine can overheat if not carefully watched. coolant and water has to be constantly added in order to drive. this is clearly an issue with the placement of the tube over a hot engine and not insulating it well enough. *tr
