The fuel line is not secured to the undercarriage. it came out of its open u shaped hanger and fell against the driveline. the drive line then wore a hole in the gas line shutting down the vehicle and spewing fuel all over. stranding everyone. luckily it did not start a fire from the muffler. it has been repaired and tied to the hanger so that it will not come out again.*ak
Fuel leak on ims [independent mobility systems, inc] dodge rampvan. fuel line was modified [extended] as part of conversion. wrong type of hose was used. per dealer/mechanic ims used regular carburetor hose instead of fuel injection high pressure hose. this resulted in cracks in line and gas leakage. potential for fire, catastrophic loss existed. *jb
A leak was discovered in the fuel tank assembly at the point where the fuel filling tube connects to the fuel tank. upon noticing the leak, i contacted the dealership where i purchased the vehicle about 3 months prior. they replaced the entire fuel tank assmbly as well as a seal. i feel that this failure is a manufacturer defect because the vehicle is in otherwise excellent condition and there was no physical damage of any kind to the fuel tank assembly that could have caused such a failure. this is a serious safety/fire hazard and we are fortunate that the leak was discovered before any fire or injuries occurred. i do not feel that i should have been responsible for payment to repair this type of defect. i have contacted daimler chrylser corporation and they currently have no recall information on my vehicle. however, i did find a recall on the 1996 dodge caravan with a similar problem. the campaign number was 98v18500. i would appreciate any assistance you can provide in this investigation.*ak

Emergency brake did not release right rear wheel after use. wheel skidded about 3 feet when driver decided to back-up to attempt release. wheel released with a loud bang. owner's manual does not list capacities for oil, coolant etc... called chrysler, they claim capacities are on back cover of manual. chrysler verified manual rear cover is blank. chrysler to copy 1998 manual back and send to customer. chrysler claims 1998 capacities are unchanged for 1999.
Dealer claims gasket was not installed in fuel line. gasket is not available separately, so entire tank assembly must be replaced. dealer opted to squirt sealer into line for repair. driver's side sliding door rattles badly. dealer adjusted striker, door got worse. technician claims rattle is normal.
While parked, vehicle caught fire in the engine compartment. inspector said there was a problem with the fuel injection system. *ak *ml
