On july 8, 2019, from a stop, light acceleration, the vehicle started hesitating as if it was misfiring or not getting fuel, up and down shifting, hard up shifting and the vehicle would not accelerate. the check engine light started flashing maybe 10 times then stayed off. cut the vehicle off and restarted and ran as if no problems occured. contacted dealership to scan the vehicle, they found no engine codes stored in the computer and stated to drive it until the check engine light comes on and stays on, then to bring it in for diagnostics.
My 2014 durango has been making a knocking noise on the front driver side for over 3 years now. i took my car in several times and to different dealers. it was always the same story, 'we couldn't find anything' i even had one dealership tell me 'sorry we can't figure it out, it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack.' are you kidding me!! my vehicle has been to the dealer over 5times for the same problem and it's never been fixed. now it's out of warranty and out of their hair, just what they wanted. i need to help on what to do in this situation. another issue i had was with the fuel pump. they fixed some problem i had a few years back, they actually broke my gas tank door after working on this issue. my car has once again come back with this same problem. today my car won't start and is unfortunately out of warranty. i had a mechanic come take a look at it and it seems to be the fuel pump once again. who's working on these cars? drunks? i need help asap. i want to note that the knocking noise occurs every time i'm driving. no matter the road conditions. smooth, bumping, raining, the knocking sound is there. it sounds like a rock hitting under the hood. it's not constant but happens every 3-5 minutes and i know it's not the lifters because i've also had the problem already and it's been fixed. any help would be great. .
I have had the same issue with my dodge for 2 plus year. i will go to fill up my gas tank and after a few minutes gas starts flowing back out of the tank. i have taken it to the dealership three times for repair. the first two times they have told me they replaced sensors, well it has happened again. now they are telling me they have to replace the entire fuel system, tank and all. they have stated that my car is unsafe to drive and the dealer will not give it back to me to drive because it is completely contaminated and the entire canister needs to be replaced . they are waiting on the part to come in but that will not be till mid july because they have 4200 on backorder. this is clearly a major issue with dodge durango and no one at the dealership or chrysler is trying to help fix this issue. it needs to be looked at! while driving i would have a large smell of gas in my car and it would just cut off and not start back up.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 dodge durango. while driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the contact coasted the vehicle to the shoulder. after attempting three times to restart the vehicle, it finally started and was driven to the contact's residence. the contact stated that the failure began approximately two and a half months ago. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic for a diagnostic testing or repairs. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 71,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 dodge durango. while driving 35 mph, the check engine warning and shift to park warning indicators illuminated. the contact stated that the vehicle slowed independently and stalled. there was also an abnormal fuel odor present. the contact was able to restart the vehicle after parking the vehicle for ten minutes. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 61,000.
Push the gas petal and wouldn't go anywhere, engine light on. was stationary
Vehicle shuts down while on freeway. dealer was unable to locate problem. it happened again over the next 6 month's several times. new vehicle was at dealership many times. dodge sent out a corporate machanic saying there was apinch in the fuel line. this happened again a year later, same fix at dealership. and two years later, i am having the same problem, car does not start anyone this time.
Upon leaving the dealership after a brand new car purchase a strong gasoline odor filled the cabin with the a/c or heat turned on. upon exiting the car a strong gasoline odor was present around the hood and left front fender. the odor has rendered vehicle unusable to transport infant and toddler. dodge service has had the vehicle for over 2 days with no resolution. *tr
Driving the car at city speeds approx 30 mph when the car lost all power. we were forced to swerve off the road to the side. the car would not restart and had to be repaired. they replaced the fuel pump, and now are replacing the entire fuel tank. i feel that we were very lucky to be in an area where it was safe to pull over, if we had been on the highway would have been a very dangerous situation. *tr
I often attempt to accelerate at slower speeds generally between 20-30mph to pass another vehicle etc... the response after pushing the gas is very delayed sometimes as if the vehicle hesitates. *js
As in another customer report, i also often move over to the left lane to attempt to accelerate to pass another vehicle (in treacherous freeway traffic or eventual oncoming vehicles in two lane traffic- dangerous)...the response after pushing the gas is very delayed sometimes as if the pedal is stuck. even when the pedal is pressed completely to floor, the vehicle does not engage in acceleration for multiple seconds. when the vehicle does engage it reacts to where the pedal is at the time. if the pedal is at the floor it shoots to rpms up very rapidly. *tr
Vehicle was being driven home by customer when she noticed that the vehicle began to hiccup and sputter while turn a corner. after turning, the vehicle stalled. she was able to safely pull to the shoulder. upon further inspection, the vehicle ran out of fuel. despite the fuel gauge displaying "empty" she stated that no audible warning chime and that the "low fuel" indicator was not prominently displayed (states that it blends in with the rest of the information on the multifunction display). *tr
Purchased vehicle 31 december 2013. actually got vehicle about six days later. on 22 january 2014, i put the vehicle in park at the end of my driveway so i could check the mail. while walking back to the vehicle form the mailbox, the vehicle starting backing up a hill on its own. i had to run next to the vehicle, hanging partially inside the cab, to attempt to shut off vehicle. vehicle would not shut off. i had to push down emergency brake with my hand in order to get vehicle to stop. vehicle also has used active braking feature and the active braking alarm has sounded to inform me that i was too close to a vehicle, though there was no vehicle in site (this has happened 3 times). vehicle randomly starts on it own. vehicle also remote starts on its own. sometimes the vehicle states it is not in park when it clearly is in park. vehicle has went from park to drive on one occasion as well. the vehicle back hatch opened on its own while driving down the highway. my belongings fell out all in road. my husband was driving the vehicle at the time. vehicle fails to accelerate correctly when i press the gas pedal intermittently, sometimes from a stop but usually from a slow speed. this causes other drivers to come close to rear ending me because i am going slower than the speed of traffic (because my foot is depressing the gas petal but the vehicle is not reacting). chrysler has sent an inspector to inspect the vehicle, and he found nothing. this vehicle has serious safety issues. i reported them 3 weeks after purchasing vehicle, but chrysler will not buy back vehicle. they have implemented safety features on the 2015 for some of these exact same issues, yet deny the issues existing. *tr
