Recently reported ELECTRICAL SYSTEM problems on 2011 Dodge Durango

My wife had problems starting the durango on tuesday morning 9/16. my wife repeatly tried to restart the vehicle. when it would finally crank, it would sputter and die. if you tried to give it gas the accelerator would go all the way to the floor without the engine revving. after several more attempts it finally started and she was able to make it to work without any problems. as she left work the same problem occured turn the key nothing, turn the key nothing, take the key out, turn the key, it cranks and then shuts off. after going through the same routine over and over we finally got it to crank. we decided to have the car battery tested and it passed. we got a new battery for the remote but that didn't solve the problem. we finally took our durango to the local dealership the next day 9/17 knowing they were going to charge $100 diagnostic fee. we explained the problem and even took the service man to the vehicle and it would not start. so he actually observed the issue. 2hrs later they call saying a problem could'nt be found. the test didn't produce a code. ok, so we spent $100 dollars on a diagnostic test with no diagnosis. as we picked up the vehicle i asked the service man if they had seen this problem before and of course his answer was no. he suggested it was probably a communication problem. well duh, something wasn't communicating. he tells us to make sure all doors, including the rear hatch are closed before starting. not what i was expecting for $100. well, he may have been telling the truth but i am not a mechanic and since then i have researched the problem and found many complaints regarding the faulty tipm. i ageee with others who have filed a complaint. chrysler is aware of this problem and are refusing to take ownership. what will it take, death or a serious injury? i want my family safe. no amount of money can replace loved ones! *tr

I initially bought the 2011 dodge durango from gillman nissan of rosenberg tx. three months after buying it all of the electrical on the vehicle went haywire while driving on the interstate and stalled out. my husband looked at it and had it towed to gillman nissan where they determined it was a powertrain issue where it was sent to dodge. after it was sent to dodge they stated that it wasn't a warranty issue and forced my husband to pay the towing and an additional fee of $100 to look at it. later they stated they could diagnose it until they put an alternator in it for $1200, my husband being a mechanic put a alternator in it and they refused to diagnose it nor fix it without paying more. my husband filed complaints with chrysler customer care where they did nothing and keep stating they set up appointments that we didn't show up on even though that wasn't the case, no appointments were ever made. now a month later my car started acting crazy again, my husband looked at it and diagnosed it as the tipm but when i called dodge they stated that there's a recall on the tipm but they don't have them in stock and it will be months before they ever get them. i am needing help here with they're default defect vehicles they're selling. *tr

My 2011 dodge durango stopped starting with the push button start. it happened the first time when my wife was bringing home our 5 kids from school and daycare. my wife was able to manually start the vehicle with taking off the push to start button and starting it with the key. however, this only works 80% of the time. we took it to a dodge dealer and they found it is the tipm(totally integrated power module). this is the part that is effected in the upcoming recall that starts on the 24th. my vehicle build date is 4/21/2011 which is right in the middle of the vehicles effected. *tr

This is the known issue with tipm failure, the car just stalled and lost all power and would not start back up. the engine would turn just fine when starting but would not start. had it towed to my regular mechanic and he let me know today that it is the tipm which is currently unavailable with long wait times. *tr

Vehicle has issues when start up. push button start results in the starter engaging and cranking for long period until system shuts it off. various warning lights illuminate on the evic and dash. check engine light, low range light, traction control light, etc. seems occurrences are sporadic but becoming more numerous. you can tell the fuel pump runs uncontrolled because there is the definite strong smell of gasoline when the starter shuts down and before the engine ever starts. *tr

The 2011 dodge durango started having issues with failed starts. it would take multiple instances to get vehicle to start. sometimes the the fuel pump would continue to pump even though engine was stopped. this causes a very smoky burning smell coming from exhaust and engine. took car to dealership and they report the issue is a faulty tipm module. the part is on back order but vehicle is unsafe due to potential issues with stalling while running. repairs estimated at $1200. *tr

The fuel pump started running while the car was turned off. the following morning the battery had been completely drained. the battery was replaced. in the span of two weeks following having the battery replaced, the fuel pump would run with the vehicle turned off intermittently. the car alarm would randomly go off. the vehicle would be difficult to start. it would take several attempts to get it to turn over. took it to the dealer for service. it took a couple of days to diagnose that problems were caused by a faulty tipm. the cost to replace the tipm and reprogram it was $1350. *tr

Vehicle was having trouble starting every once and a while. the engine would turn over and over but would not start. applying the brakes and pushing the start button would stop the motor from turning over. occasionally the engine would start after multiple tries. however, it now does not start at all. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. the contact stated that the vehicle stalled on several occasions. the contact had to make several attempts in order to restart the vehicle. the contact heard a grinding noise each time the vehicle started. the dealer did not provide a remedy. the vehicle was sold to the contact without informing the contact that the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v154000 (service brakes, service brakes hydraulic). the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 58,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 14v530000 (electrical system) however, the part needed to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure. the vin was not available.

2011 durango with the tipm issue. chrysler dodge basically said i'm sol and so did the local dealership mac haik georgetown. parts on back order and will cost $1200. no help from either parties. how many customers have to be in accidents be for they take action? i get a recall for a vanity light wire that may short after a headliner repairs....really, what about the fact that my durango may shut down without notice, loss all power and possibly crash, possibly injuring my family or some one else? i left chevrolet for defects and poor customer relations and now i will leave chrysler. american tax payers bail these guys out and this is how they treat the people how kept them from dissolving. *tr

Vehicle tipm failure. vehicle hesitates to start or fails to start. fuel pump stays engaged until battery is disconnected. *tr

Noticed a vehicle starting problem sometime in early 2014. the starter would just crank the engine without it firing. i did notice the lightning bolt warning illuminated as the vehicle failed to start. i had to let off the brake and push the start button to disengage the starter from turning the engine over. i then repeated the process to start the vehicle and it started right up with no further problems & no lights. this issue happened several more times over the months with the same outcome until august 31, 2014. on this date, the vehicle would not start after 3 or 4 times, also noting the lightning bolt illuminated. i then placed the vehicle in neutral and it started with warning lights extinguished. this happened again the next day on september 1, 2014 and again had to start the vehicle in neutral. while driving the vehicle that day i noticed the fcw light illuminate for about 10-15 mins then went away for the remainder of the drive. i have noticed this light intermittently while driving before and after september 1st. the start problem has become a recurring issue. september 9, 2014, it took about 15 attempts to finally start the vehicle with the electronic throttle control (lightning bolt) light steadily illuminated until the vehicle started. once it started, the following warning lights remain illuminated: 1) anti-lock brake system, 2) electronic stability control, 3) brake, and 4) both left & right mirror blind spot warning triangles. in addition, the electronic speedometer read zero while driving. i drove a half mile to the store and turned the vehicle off for 10 mins. it then started normally with no warning lights illuminated. i drove about another mile to my house without any issues. i've have found numerous people with the same type of issues on chrysler products and almost all have led to a faulty tipm with repair costs over $1,000. *tr

Vehicle will not start or if it starts it turns back off. it takes sometime up to 4 times before it will start. *tr

Vehicle was purchased on 9/1/14 and began exhibiting problems in first five days. 9/3/14, the car did not start on the first push of button, but started on the second attempt. on 9/5/14, the car was running and in park, i attempted to put the car in gear (drive) and it began shaking side to side. the car did not move when i pushed the accelerator. i put it back in park and hit the stop button and the engine turned off. it started on the next attempt. on 9/20/14, had a similar problem starting, but this time it took multiple attempts and the engine sputtered a bit and eventually shut off. i tried it again and it worked. my daughter attempted to start the car the same day and had the same issue. 9/21/14 experience the same issues with the car not starting. on 9/22/14, i drove it to work and it started fine. upon leaving work the car failed to start on three attempts, but eventually started. when i stopped 15 minutes later the car would not start again. i placed one foot on the brake and i hit the accelerator as i started the car and it worked. i drove home and attempted to start it again to take it to the dealership, but it would not start. after several attempts it fired up, but began shaking really hard side to side. i put it in drive and the shaking was worse. i put it back in park and the car began sputtering and lurched forward as the engine shut down. i was able to start it a few minutes later and drive to the dealership. it has been at the dealership since 9/22/14 and they have not been able to fix it. i spoke with a chrysler representative who indicated that a recall for the fuel pump relay would go into effect on 10/24/14. the dealership has asked me to take the car until the recall is in effect, despite the fact that both they and chrysler are acknowledging the safety defect. i refuse to put my family at risk in a clearly unsafe car! *tr

Over the life of the vehicle exact same year make and model i have seen more than 1500 complaints of the ignition issues involving the key mechanism on this vehicle. some complaints have warned of potential for the vehicle to shutdown while being driven. my vehicle stalled out in traffic it would appear the key had slipped back to the off position. soon after when attempting to restart the vehicle it would not start but sound as if it were trying to start. i believe dodge is avoiding trying to avoid address these issues and just how wide spread this issue has become. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. the contact received a notification for recall nhtsa campaign number: 14v154000 (service brakes, service brakes, hydraulic) and nhtsa campaign number: 14v391000 (electrical). however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure.

The tipm is responsible for controlling and distributing power to all of the electrical functions of the vehicle, including safety and ignition systems. the lawsuit claims chrysler has long been aware of the tipm problem, but refuses to publicly acknowledge it. a defective tipm can sometimes make it impossible to start your car. in addition, it can cause any of the following: the fuel pump not turning off the airbags not deploying or deploying randomly the engine stalling while driving the horn going off at random times in other words, having a vehicle with a faulty tipm is like driving something possessed. *tr

My car was having trouble accelerating and/or jerking during driving before finally not starting at times. the problem turned out to be the totally integrated power module; which has been documented as a problem by many dodge owners in several vehicles, but there has been no recall, it as if the company is waiting on someone to stall in traffic and cause an accident or death before they respond to the issue. the service reps even denied any on going issue with the part in their vehicles, but when you search the web the complaints are well documented. *tr

Vehicle stalled a few times and had a issue with restarting.took it to dodge that following wednesday to get diagnosed they found a couple issues the main one being the relay to the fuel pump located in the tipm was inop and causing the no start issue that made the vehicle eventually totally shut off. replaced the vehicle battery the next week and the same issue exists. every time when the vehicle was jumpstarted it remained to operate until the night when it was dead no response. seems as though the vehicle times out and defaults to the totally dead mode until jumpstarted the next day. *tr

I was driving down the road and my car stalled. sounded like engine just shut off and then it struggled to start again and then just spontaneously started. additionally sometimes and ever increasing my car will not start or takes several attempts. you turn the key and it tries to start you can hear it, but wont without several attempts.sometimes i will go to back out and it will go and then just stop and turn off. i thought due to my car having difficulties starting it could be my battery so i went and got that checked and he said my battery was weak so i purchased a 200 dollar battery to find out my car is still not starting. my car has stalled once on main road which is frightening with 4 kids in the car in a very busy city! not to mention when ur backing out and ur car just stops that's a safety risk too! i have heard others are having same issue and they are under a recall starting october 24th, but chrysler told me my car isn't under a recall for it, though it is a 2011. i wanted to be sure my issue was documented since this is a safety issue and frightening when you have 4 young kids in the car with you. i hope that they wake up and widen their recall because with just over 50000 miles my car shouldn't be facing these type of issues and it is a risk to my family! *tr

On september 2, 2014 apprx 8:15am after dropping off my two oldest children at school, myself and my 3 year old daughter went to the gas station. after puting gas, our 2011 dodge durango failed to start. after over 1 hour of attempts to start the vehicle, i finally accepted the situation and called for a tow truck. after getting my vehicle and (most importantly) my daughter home safely, i was able to contact a well known mechanic to help assess the problem. the mechanic i consulted is one of the top mechanics who works for the city of los angeles, servicing all the commercial vehicles for the department of sanitation. after examining my vehicle and towing it closer to his place of business he later identified to problem as being the electrical/engine part known as the "totally integrated power module" (tipm). flash forward one month and we have now paid $1,000 to replace the defective part. *tr

my 2011 dodge durango started having starting problems in sept. of 2014 and the problem became worst over the next several weeks. on oct. 22, 2014 the vehicle didn't start and had to be tow in for service. i the was told about the tipm problem and that no parts are available and no date for delivery. every day i have talked to chrysler and the dealership with no future of resolving issue. *tr

2011 dodge durango. consumer writes in regards to tipm recall issues. *smd the consumer learned there was a shortage of parts for several months. *jb

When i press the start/stop button the starter continues to turn but the car does not start. it is necessary to put the car in gear to get the starter to stop spinning. various electrical failure notifications are displayed on the dash. *tr

I had problems starting my car. the engine would try to turn over, but would not start. i put the ignition on run, pumped the gas a few times and it would eventually start most of the time. took it to my mechanic and we replaced the fuel pump. that didn't fix the problem. after researching the issue we replaced the tipm. that has so far fixed the starting issue, but now my fog lights blink when i try to use my right turn signal. this is putting me and my family at danger while driving the vehicle and not being able to use my right blinker. the dealer here has said that we need to have the tipm "flashed" in order to fix the problem. so the cost of that is an additional $125. my fear is that this will cause even more dangerous issues as i have researched and read many experiences by other 2011 durango owners. i have read about the upcoming recall p54 to fix the fuel relay. but now that problem is fixed and there is another problem created. *tr

Yesterday, after my oil change, the engine would not start. it has done this several times before at various times but never right after an oil change. it cranked and cranked but would not start. tried many times. it finally started after about 5 minutes and i went home. once home, i started it three times just to make sure it would start. then, this morning, it would not start. have tried several times today and still won't start no matter what. there is a red lightning bolt and it says key not detected message. the keys have new batteries. have checked internet for complaints. there are many like this. please do a recall and fix the issue or pay me for the towing and repairs i have to make to this vehicle. thank you. *tr

Vehicle does not always start the first time but stalls at random intervals. when the issue first started occurring, 2-3 times of pushing the ignition the vehicle would fire up. now it takes 20-30 pushes before vehicle starts. lately, i'm the last one to leave the parking lot. i recently called the dealership and inquired about the chrysler p54 recall. "in the affected vehicles, the fuel-pump relay inside the totally integrated power module may fail, causing the vehicle to stall without warning." i was told that my vehicle vin does not qualify for the recall. i have a 2011 dodge durango with the 3.6 l engine. my vehicle is stalling and the problem is getting worse. *tr

This used vehicle (no full factory warranty) was purchased at a local dodge dealer in the south houston, texas area on tuesday august 26, 2014 with 39,332 miles on it. the drive home was about 96 miles +-. the next morning wednesday august 27, 2014 i went out to the 2011 dodge durango citadel i just purchased and when i attempted to start the durango, the starter just cranked & cranked with no starting, so the start button had to be pushed to stop the cranking so the starter would not burn up. this is one of the known problem with the ticm (totally integrated power module) that chrysler is aware of, and it is known that the engine could possible shut down while driving. chrysler/dodge must be required to have a recall before someone get killed. it is also believed that the dealer knew fully well that the problem existed when they sold me the car, as they had the vehicle for about 7-9 day's before listing it for sale. *tr

My car would not start on several instances. many times it tried to stall when driving. i took it to the dealer and the said the tipm was failing and installed a fuel pump overlay wiring. i did my research and found 100s of other customers with the same complaints, yet no recall was issued. i had to pay for the repairs. there is now a recall p54 in which they acknowledge the problem, but say not parts are available and they will not issue reimbursement for repairs already made. i am certain that there are more issues with the electrical, since my windshield wipers go off without rain, when it is cold outside. why is chrysler refusing to make these repairs and what can be done to make them pay for repairs already made and actually fix the problems? *tr

I have received notification for three different recalls on my dodge durango. the first recall notice was received on 7/21/14 for p36 p14, the second recall was received on approx. 11/10/14 for p54/nhtsa 14v-530, and the third recall was received on 112/19/14 for p14/nhtsa 14v-154. each time i received a recall notice i contacted south hills chrysler, dodge, jeep, ram to schedule an appointment to have my dodge service and the recalls fixed. each time i was told that the dealer did not have parts in stock and that there were 400 people on the waiting list in front of me and they could give me an estimate on when they could fix my vehicle. on 12/22/14 i contacted three rivers jeep dodge and they immediately scheduled me for a service appointment for 12/23/14 and indicated the parts for p36 p14 and p 14/nhtsa 14v-154 were readily available by all dodge dealers. it is extremely concerning that the south hills chrysler dodge dealer had no sense of urgency in addressing these important safety recalls. *tr

Since new this car has had intermittent no start condition. we returned to dealer more than once. had fobs replaced etc. dealer was unable to resolve. we had made an appt for a week out to get the dealer (quickest they would give us). car again went into no start mode. we took to a different dealer . they told us they have seen the issue and would repair by adding a relay so fuel could get to engine. (star case #s130800039). they made the repair. we have not had issue again. this is a safety issue being left stranded with a car that will not start. please require dodge to recall and repair all like vehicles. also require dodge to reimburse those of us left holding the bill for repairs completed! thank you. *tr

Problems starting car. intermittently the vehicle would crank but not start. didn't matter if the car was in a garage or outside. could take upwards of 20 minutes to get the engine running. diagnosed as tipm failure and module replaced. *tr

I went to start the durango and it wouldn't start. like an older car does when it is cold. after several tries it will start. throughout the day it usually starts up. after football practice a couple days ago i had the same issue. i have been having trouble mostly in the mornings. it has started to turn into an everyday thing. it is taking longer and longer to start the durango. one evening as i pulled out of my driveway the durango died. i was halfway pulled out into the road and it took almost 10 minutes to get it started. cars had to go around me. i was very concerned for my children (13 months, and 8 years) and my own safety. after further investigation i have found others have had the same issues with durangos. i really think you should recall the tipm! *tr

Car died while driving electric module fried there is a class action lawsuit someone will die in the future of car shuts down while driving fast on interstate. *tr

My car wouldn't start and after checking the fuses and relays i found a relay that reset the dashboard alarm i bought a new relay and replaced it.sometime later my car lost all power . took my battery out and inspected and found that the battery was drained /bad. after buying a new battery my wife reported to me a noise coming from the gas tank area . after inspecting the area in question i took it to get looked at and found out that my fuel pump will not shut off and was the reason why my original battery died.after doing some research i have found the same problems with other dodge durango's and the root cause being the tipm.i don't want to spend the money on a test from the dealer telling me i have a bad tipm when i already know what's wrong. so where do i go from here? i spent good money on this car and i am in fear of my family's safety when driving this car. *tr

Went to start my 2011 dodge durango citadel.... it would not start. it has 62000 miles on it. had it towed and was told it was the tipm module. it would cost 1250. not covered under my warranty. i found out that a lot of these cars are having the same problem. called chrysler they have washed their hands of it. they did give me a case number in case it does get enough complaints and then they will recall it. meanwhile i am out the money. *tr

We attempted to start our vehicle, but the engine would not start. after several minutes vehicle started but stuttered, as if their was no fuel going to the engine. there had been no engine or service lights at the time. i researched the issue online and found that many durango and cherokee owners have experienced similar issues, and the cause was the tipm. i took my vehicle to the dealership and they tested it, and found it was a problem with the tipm, which was failing to engage the fuel pump. luckily our car was parked at the time the problem started. my wife generally drives this vehicle with my two small children. our warranty ended at 36000 miles, so it was not covered. my options were to replace the tipm for 1200 dollars, or pay 428 dollars to have an external relay installed to bypass the faulty tipm (chrysler star case #[xxx]). we chose to have the bypass installed. vehicle is running fine at this point, but we are worried other issues (air bags deployed etc) will be a future problem. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

This vehicle has been to the dealership 4 times for the same issue, failure to start. the starter would crank, the fuel pump would work, it just would not turn over. the first time they replaced the battery. the second time they said they could not find a problem. the third time the vehicle had to be towed to the dealership. they said the battery was drained. they charged it and it tested fine. it still had issues starting. they kept it for 2 days and finally replaced the tpim. 2 weeks later, they vehicle failed to start again. they told me i had a dead battery and replaced it again. it looks like this exact issue is noted by many other people. why has a recall not been issued on this issue? my wife, 2 year old and 1 month old were stuck in 110 degree heat trying to start the vehicle. this is a safety issue! *tr

Tl * the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. while driving 35 mph, the engine stalled and all of the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. the dealer recommended that the alternator be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. the approximate failure mileage was 49,863.

The issue started with intermittent issues when starting the vehicle (the vehicle would crank, but never turn over) in addition to other problems such as random puttering while driving and the horn going off for no apparent reason. on the date that the vehicle had to be towed to a dodge dealer, i was unable to get the vehicle to start at all. the dealership's service department discovered that the issues were due to a defective tipm. upon researching this part, i discovered that this is an extremely widespread issue for this vehicle and that there was actually a national shortage of the part for several months due to the overwhelming number of failures resulting from this defective part. despite multiple class action lawsuits and the high number of reported incidents, chrysler has taken no action up to this point to recall the part. *tr

Tipm module faulty. vehicle hard starts when cold. not covered under chrysler 100000 mile extended warranty. almost all 2011 - 2012 jeeps/dodges affected. this is bogus and needs to be recalled! *tr

After several instances of the car not starting for no apparent reason (i have push button ignition), i suspected an electrical problem. today, upon arriving home and shutting my vehicle off and exiting i found that my vehicles fuel pump did not shut off. it continued to run for 3 hours, until i pulled the fuse that controls the fuel pump. this is not an uncommon problem with chryslers tipm in 2011 durango models, as well as other chrysler models using the same module. the danger that a defective tipm presents is quite significant, especially to those who use their suv to transport their small children. it is incredibly unsafe to not address the faulty nature of a system that controls the electrical stimulus of a vehicle, and could potentially deploy airbags in a non life threatening scenario or stall the engine, or present another defect at an inopportune time that would result in injury. the auditing of these defective systems should be a priority and i most definitely do not feel safe transporting my family in this vehicle, given the high volume of complaints against the electrical and tipm system. chrysler has a responsibility to investigate these issues and rectify the problems that their negligence has presented to trusting consumers. i thought the automotive industry realized that safety over profits was of monumental importance, not only for their profit margin but for their reputation. i'm pretty sure no one has forgotten the ford pinto, it is a prime example in all business management literature of how not to operate in an ethical manner. chrysler is openly neglecting the responsibility they have to provide a reliable product to their consumer, as proved by my inquires to their organization. tipm is defective, it needs to be replaced on a mass scale, and chrysler ignores the potential and actual damages. *tr

The initial indication of a problem was the vehicles inability to start (usually took 3-4 tries). once it started the first time it would shutter then shut off again. finally starting okay after several stumbling starts. it would randomly cut off while driving (makes the power brakes and steering very difficult to handle). the final time was when the transmission would not go back into drive (or park). it would act as if in neutral except there was an audible buzzing when clicked back to park. the initial engine issues turned out to be the tipm (total integrated power module). the fuel pump was being shut down by the tipm. the second issue with the transmission was due to a 4 low neutral switch being stuck in the down position. both are being fixed my our expense now as they are no longer covered under warranty. these parts are expensive and caused some safety of use issues as an inexperienced driver may have had an accident when the power steering and brakes were difficult to handle. *tr

As of today october 6th, 2014 i am unable to drive my 2011 dodge durango. since the beginning of august it has not wanted to start. it will crank like it wants to but nothing. the fuel pump will continue to run even after the car has shut off, draining my battery completely. last week i was driving down the road at 40 mph and the car completely shut off. i lost all power, steering and breaking ability. once i coasted to the side of the road the car would not start! it took me a good 10 minutes to get it running. then it would idle very low and not want to move. this is my primary family vehicle and i will not put my family in this car. i would hate to be on the highway and lose all power with them in the car. thankfully it was just me the other day. what angers me even more is that i am paying for a vehicle that is completely unsafe to drive and will leave you stranded. i have been told that the "recall" is not in effect and the dealer who services my car has not even heard of the recall. they did call me back and say they can't do anything till oct 24th, and even then the parts could be on back order for months. very unhappy with the way this is being handled! *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 dodge durango. while operating the vehicle at various speeds, all the instrument panel indicators illuminated and the odometer stopped operating. while driving various speeds, the vehicle would suddenly decelerate without warning. the dealer stated that the tipm was faulty and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 60,000.

Apparently my tipm had malfunctioned, causing ignition problems in my vehicle. i am aware that this is a ongoing issue with a multitude of dodge vehicles and dodge refuses to address this problem. unacceptable!!!!!!!!!! *tr

On july 30th, 2014 my wife went shopping and when she came out the car was running. i asked her if she was sure she shut it off. she said yes. then a few day's later we went to eat and upon trying to start the car to leave it would not start. it said press start. it did and nothing. after several attempts it started with the security alarm going off. i shut off and re-started and all appeared ok. today august 27, 2014 i went to a store and when i came out the car again was running. i am 100% positive that i did shut off and also locked the car. the car was running and the message was to press the start, with the car already running! on the way home, it seemed warm with the ac going. i had pushed the auto button and noticed the ac showed off. on the way home i tested the ac by pushing auto and the ac went off. i pushed just the ac and it stayed on. this is and incidental issue with my main concern being the "ghost" starting and the trouble starting. i was trying to check my vin for any recalls or complaints and found that there are many complaints on this vehicle with the tipm module. it appears from reading other complaints that we could be in store for more issues, some possibly dangerous. i am trying inquire with the dealer service to see what they say. i have been waiting for 2 hours for them to call me (they were busy when i called and the operator left them my message and to call me). *tr
