I got a recall letter for my 2005 dodge durango at around 60,000 miles. i was told that the recall did not match my suv vin and that nothing was wrong. i now have 76,000 miles on the durango and it started throwing up fuel when completing a fill up. this happens everytime now. dodge already said my truck was good and that nothing was wrong with it. i am sure you they will try and tell me to cover the cost on my own. i will not cover the cost i promise you that. dodge you are responsible for this, so fix it. you are selling junk and i have been a true customer for many years this is my 5th durango and my last. i hope it starts a fire so i will no longer have to pay for crap your selling. *tr
Durango stalls while turning or stopping. *tr
Gas shoots out of filler neck from gas tank after done filling up.this use to happen about every three fill ups but now its all the time.the other day it shot out and soaked a women across from me. i have complained to the dealer about this the last couple of years and have been told there is a recall out on the durango but not mine which is ridiculous.i called dodge with no satisfaction.this is extremely dangerous and should be fixed before someone gets seriously hurt.i talked with conner at chrysler-the complaint # is 19381977.i took the durango to spitzer in akron ohio and they ordered me a fuel tank but they said its on back order(go figure). i have an extended warrentywith a 50.00 dollar deductible but this should be recalled in my opinion since its got the same problem as the cars and trucks in its class. *tr
Upon filling up at a gas station. my 2005 dodge durango slt will spit fuel back approx 5 secs after clicking off at the pump. my truck was built jan 2005, 1 month outside of the orginal recall window and subsequent new window. i have checked the www and it seems alot of owners have similar issues. i would suggest that the original clean/ dirty point provided by the teir 1 supplier was incorrect and infact did not capture all vehicles with this issue. i believe this is a huge saftey issue that should be changed to encompass all 2005 durangos as it it obvious that the current clean point was ineffective.
Starting about two months ago every time i filled my gas tank a large volume of gas would splash out of the filler neck as the tank appeared to be approaching full. in addition, the "gascap" light would constantly illuminate. there appears to be an unbelievable fire hazard with this situation. i called chrysler/dodge about the problem and was told there was a recall on these events but my vehicle was not included in the recall. dodge also told me that they would try to work with me on the expense but would not pay for the whole thing in any way, shape or form. i then took the vehicle in for maintenance and was told by the dealer that the entire gas tank needs to be replaced and that they are on backorder because of this problem existing on so many vehicles. in addition, the cost estimate is $854.45 apparently dodge/chrysler is aware of the problem but are unwilling to fix it. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2005 dodge durango. when inserting fuel in the fuel tank the gasoline will regurgitate. also the fuel gauge on the instrument control panel displays inaccurate readings. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection. although he experienced identical failure, his vehicle identification number was excluded from recall campaign id number 05v034000 (fuel system, gasoline:storage:tank assembly:filler pipe and cap). the failure and current mileages were 64,841. the vehicle identification number was unavailable.
My 2005 dodge durango is spilling fuel from the filler neck upon filling up the gas tank. i called my local dealership and was told that my durango is not involved with a recall for this issue using my vin#. this is unacceptable and unfair. my durango has a manf date of 10/04. this is a safety issue that dodge needs to fix regardless if affected tank relief valve issue was resolved at a certain date. dodge needs to expand the manf dates for these recalls affecting the tank relief valve issue. it is their responsibility to fix an issue such as this due to the safety, fire and environmental concerns that occur each and every time i fill up my gas tank. *tr
When filling up with gas, it back flows all over the place. *tr
This problem began in july 2008. everytime i try to put fuel in my vehicle it ends up spewing back out of the tank all over me, the vehicle and the pavement. my dealer looked into it and said it was a valve problem but would require the replacement of the entire tank with a cost of at least $1000. i have seen other 2005 dodge durango's getting recalls but my vin does not come up as getting this recall. this is unfair that i have the same problem as other 05 durangos but am not part of the recall. this is potentially an extremely dangerous situation and i can't get any assistance from dodge on this matter. can you help? *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2005 dodge durango. while adding fuel to the vehicle it began to come out of the fuel tank. the dealer stated that there were no existing recalls and he would be responsible for the repair. the failure mileage was 83,000.
While filling the gas tank and when the tank is full, the fuel filler nozzle clicks off but then gasoline overflows out of the fuel tank filler neck and usually sprays into the air. this happens 99% of ever refueling trip to a gas station. the gas usually sprays out and gets all over the person refueling. i had the dodge dealership look into this issue at the time of the first incident but nothing was done to fix it. the dodge dealer wants approximately $700 to replace the entire gas tank in order to fix this issue. *tr
My complaint is the same as in nhtsa campaign id number : 05v034000 however dodge refuses to correct it. i have a 2005 dodge durango wherein the fuel tank filler tube inlet check valve does not fully close at the end of refueling. this allows fuel to escape from the vehicle filler neck. consequence: fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source can result in a fire. dodge has told me that my vin number does not qualify for a recall even though it is a 2005 dodge durango with the same safety issue. they say that the qualifying vehicles were built before 10/12/2004 and that mine was built after that date. i maintain that they either used the same bad part in my vehicle or did not properly fix the problem. i am faced with a $600 repair bill for a design/part flaw that they did not correct and therefore should be responsible for repairing at their expense. *tr
I took my suv in for service as it was not running smoothly and had trouble changing gears.dodge made alterations and returned it .shortly after that it stalled out while driving & the check engine light came on. the reading indicated problems with the 02 sensor. after hesitation, dodge replaced my o2 sensor and said the stall out was not related to the check engine light coming on, it didn't stall when they drove it, so they did not consider it a problem. days later it stalled out & the check engine light came on again. when i returned the truck to dodge, they got back the same read as before and said it needed a software update.a week later the check engine light came on then the truck stalled out during operation.i took it back to dodge, they contacted daimlerchrysler who had them check the exhaust for leaks.a pinhole leak was found and sealed & they reset the check engine light.after about 200 miles, the check engine light reappeared, the next day it stalled out again.they did more testing for exhaust leaks, said they found another pinhole leak and sealed the entire exhaust.once again, after a couple days of driving, it stalled out in motion, 2 days later, it stalled out again, then finally the check engine light came back on.when i returned it to dodge, the service manager said he would not work on the truck, he would call dahmlerchrysler for them to send a tech out to look at it and he put me in another rental car.two days after that, i got a call from dodge saying, an unnamed source told them they should rig the lines to block airflow to the fuel line by putting piping inside the existing lines to stop the truck from stalling. although he said, "but if you tell anyone i told you to do this, i will deny ever telling you to do it!" so dodge rigged my lines and told me i needed to pick it up as dahmlerchrysler would not approve any more rental for me.this is how they want me to currently drive the vehicle.sounds too dangerous for me, can you please help!!
While in drive vehicle stalls causing loss of power steering and brakes. must restart to regain control. *nm
