When i pushased my 1999 dodge durango the brakes was nosiy...took it back to the dealer.they charged me $90.00 to do a brake service.after the brakes was used a couple of times they started making nosie again...took it back and dealer stated that it was the pads and they could not do anything about it. well after that i was fed up with them and took it to a goodyear shop where they replaced the brakes.(stopped the nosie) and also found out the upper ball joints was bad along with the shocks...so they was replaced costing me $1,300.00. so much for the extended warenties that i purchased with the vehicle..the dealer also charged me for fliud after two sensors went out that was located inside the transmission..wich the warenty was to cover the drive train..this vehicle is a 1999 dodge durango 4x4....new tires had to be purchased because of ball joints was bad causeing tires to wear wrong

While on the highway, my durango suddenly pulled to the left. all attempts to steer or use the brakes failed and my car went into a spin and hit the barrier wall of a bridge two times. the police report states that the cause of crash is that the driver "lost control of her vehicle when the left rear tire/rim separated from the axle."*ak

Vehicle's left rear wheel separated from axle causing vehicle to go out of control. *mr the consumer had gone around a small bend and the vehicle pulled to the left. as the consumer tried to steer back into the lane, the vehicle went into the right lane. the consumer had no control of the steering. the consumer applied the brakes but the vehicle didn't slow down, instead it went out control and traveled backwards facing traffic, the vehicle hit a barrier wall of the bridge on the drivers side, bounced off the wall, spun around again, and hit the barrier wall again in the rear left side. the vehicle spun around again and ended back on the interstate. the left rear wheel had separated from the vehicle and was found across the highway. a witness stated that it appeared as if the rear axle cracked and the left rear wheel went at an opposite angle of the vehicle. *scc *jb

Have had car in dealership 7 times for various transmission problems. dealer claims they cannot find problem. finally on the 7th trip, they admitted there was a problem. the problem now, is extended warranty company does not want to repair problem because car is 3000 miles short of warranty expiration. car appears to shift back and forth from 1st to 2nd rapidly (oscillates), when downshifted and throttle held open. car bucks like a bronco. very dangerous.

Vehicle would not go into 4 wheel drive or 4 low. it stays in 2 wheel drive. delaer put a brand new transfer case, and it still would not work. front tire to rear tire is 5/8 of a inch difference, causing it not to engage. dealer is not sure if the problem will work unless new tires are put on. consumer will have to buy tires to see if remedy will work.*ak

Several time my overdrive light has come on and then has shut off in the last year. the dealer has told me that there is nothing they can do unless i bring the truck in while the light is on. one day in july on my lunch hour i was sitting in the drive thru getting lunch and my overdrive light came on and wouldnt shut off. the transmission light came on and the temp gauge shot up in the red zone. i immediatley parked the vehicle and called roadside assitance. the vehicle was towed to the dealer. the dealer called me and told me theire was nothing wrong. they siad you must have pushed the overdive light by accident. i dont think so i told them. they said they put the truck on their machine and it told them the lights and guages never showed they lit up or overheated. impossible. im afraid im going to get stranded again with my child. my airconditioner doesnt cool well and they say it cools fine. my truck is currently in the shop due to the paint is lossing its clearcoat. love the durango but very disgusted.

Problem: rear axle pinion bearing fails, causing damage to pinion gear and ring gear. at each repair attempt, bearings, cups and seals are replaced, repairs have lasted about 2000 miles, 500miles and twice at under 100 miles. the problem has been addressed 4 times, once at a dodge dearlership other than the one where we purchased the vehicle and 3 times at the purchasing dealership. the last repairs included replacing the rearend housing, now though, within 100 miles, the problem has returned. at last tear down of the rearend, the pinion gear's teeth were chipped. this fact is what scares myself and my wife, a complete failure of the pinion gear at highway speeds could be disastrous. we have contacted the manufacture about the numerous repairs and failures through certified mail, my only contact with them is to say they received the notice and then the purchasing dealership's service manager called to voice his hostilities to us as to why we went over his head with this! i feel this problem is a possible safety issue and needs to be addressed, we are having to drive the defective vehicle because we have no other available vehicle.....it is scary.

Car was running with no emergency brake on, also, small child was able to put car into neutral without pressing the brakes, and car rolled backwards, resulting in a crash. *ak
