All the lights in the vehicle vent out, the digital dashboard the touch screen everything that lights up went out. the motor almost died and started to sputter. when i accelerate it has no power then it will take off then no power. when i am stopped the idle is so low it almost dies and the entire car shakes very hard. this started while i was driving at about 30 mph.
Tl* the contact owns a 2016 dodge dart. while driving various speeds, the vehicle misfired and stalled. also, the check engine warning indicator illuminated intermittently. the vehicle was taken to san leandro chrysler dodge jeep ram srt (1444 marina blvd, san leandro, ca 94577) where the spark plugs and engine were repaired; however, the failure recurred multiple times. the contact stated that the dealer inspected for leaks because the contact had to add oil every month, as needed. the dealer was unable to duplicate any leaks. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 44,000.
Multiple times 4 to be exact my vehicle has shut down while driving with no warning. this seems to be an issue with many of these from my research. once i was getting on an expressway and was almost hit another time was turning on a busy street almost being hit luckily i was not. the first time this happened i had the car about 3 months after purchasing new. the last time it happened was this september. the dealership has done nothing and says they know it happens but nothing they can do for it. are they waiting for someone to be killed before dealing with this issue ?
I have been taught to check my oil consistently. i bought my vehicle with 68,089. checked oil and it was full. at 69,089 i checked oil and was 2 quarts low!! so i filled it and called dealership. they said they could do an oil consumption test but that it's normal for vehicles to burn oil( about 1 quart per 1000 miles. my vehicle burned double that. i did some research online to find that many other consumers with the same vehicle had the same problem ! dodge should have a remedy for a very serious problem. since filling i have burned 1 quart in 700 miles.
While driving the vehicle it will randomly have complete loss of power without warning and the battery light would turn on.
While driving the vehicle it will randomly have complete loss of power without warning and the battery light would turn on. the dodge dealer found a code u0415 ( abs problem) and said because of that code engine shut off, $260 to fit that, but the problem still persist. this is the 3rd time after a fix that the car still randomly shutting off in a neighborhood speed 30mph. this is extremely dangerous and i am in disbelief nothing has been done about this. are we waiting for someone to die to take action ?
Car randomly shuts off while driving, whether it is in motion or stationary. happens on streets and when turning. bought the car brand new and we have brought the car to the dealership twice for this issues. they can not tell us what is wrong or what is causing this. after today's visit i stated to them that this will not happen again right, and i was told l cant promise you that, and that they do not know what is causing the problem. i said that i have seen on the internet reports of this happening to the same type of car and why is there not a recall .
Tl* the contact owns a 2016 dodge dart. while driving 30 mph, the vehicle seized without warning. the contact received assistance from a bystander who placed the vehicle in neutral, which returned it back to normal operation. the vehicle was taken to dan deery chrysler dodge jeep ram fiat (4320, 3900 alexandra dr, waterloo, ia 50702, (319) 233-5000) several times where it was diagnosed that oil needed to be added to the vehicle. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 32,000. *bf *tr
Car continues to stall in the mist of driving. my car has stalled on me in the middle of the highway twice this year while myself and daughter was in the vehicle barely getting hit by other vehicles. something needs to be done. i pay too much for this car to have myself and child at risk everyday.
Tl-the contact owns a 2016 dodge dart. stall, without warning vehicle would not start, diagnostic scheduled, oil evaporation sensor may need to be replaced, 2000 more miles fca contacted, case number not provided while driving at approximately 55 mph, without warning the vehicle stalled. the contact stated that the vehicle was difficult to maneuver due to the power steering being inoperable at the time. the contact was able to safely guide the vehicle off of the roadway. after several minutes the contact was able to restart the vehicle. thompson chrysler dodge jeep ram located at 124 north point blvd, baltimore, md 21224, (410) 690-4558, was contacted and an appointment was scheduled. the appointment was still pending. the service technician suggested that the oil evaporation sensor may need to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was contacted and notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 15,400. After the car sits in the hot florida sun for about 8-10 hours from morning to about 2:30-3:00 the car starts fine and then i start driving and when i slow down to come to a stop, the car stalls. then it starts back up again when i push the start button. this happens in florida summer, not during the "winter" months.
My son parked the vehicle after driving it approximately 2 miles. he went into his dorm room and was informed shortly after that his car was on fire. the engine had ignited.
When my oil life goes below 35% the engine will shut of while i am driving. it mostly happens when making a turn. it does restart after about 2 minutes and cranking the engine.
Tl* the contact called on behalf of the owner of a 2016 dodge dart. while driving approximately 65-75 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the contact was able to restart the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to daytona dodge (located at 1450 n tomoka farms rd, suite a, daytona beach, fl 32124, (386) 274-0571) to be diagnosed, but the mechanic was unable to retrieve a fault code or duplicate the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure recurred several times. the manufacturer was not notified. the approximate failure mileage was 49,826.
I have a 2016 dodge dart sxt that i bought over a year ago when it had 20, xxx miles on it, it now has 46,xxx miles on it, it does the weirdest thing, i will be driving it and it just dies and doesn't want to start back up until a couple minutes later, it is embarrassing and a traffic hazzard to be stalled in the middle of an intersection or at a stop light, it has been doing this off and on since i bought the car, it is very dangerous, it wasnt until recently that i realized that this is happening every time that my oil change percentage is at 25% or below, so i googled the problem i am having and it is a common issue with these cars , they are consuming oil in between oil changes to the point the engine is 1 to 2 quarts low and a sensor detects that and is stalling the engine to protect it, does this car not have an oil light to detect when the oil is low? how is the way they have this set up legal? they need to recall these cars and fix the engine before someone dies !
Tl* the contact owns a 2016 dodge dart. the contact stated that her niece's vehicle stalled in the middle of traffic and while making turns. the contact's niece had to wait ten minutes before restarting the engine. once restarted, the vehicle was able to drive home. the vehicle was taken to browns ford of amsterdam (4419 ny-30, amsterdam, ny 12010, (877) 801-2978) to be diagnosed, but the failure could not be duplicated. the mechanic stated that there was no failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 64,000.
My 2016 dodge dart stalled at a stoplight while idling. i called the dodge dealership and they told me to check the oil level in my car. if it gets too low the car will stall. i had just changed my oil about 3 months beforehand with the correct weight and amount of oil according to the owners manual. but when i checked, sure enough there was almost no oil on the dipstick. apparently these cars burn oil and dodge doesn't seem to be willing to fix the problem. there are other similar complaints all over the internet that i have found. this could be very dangerous if pulling out into traffic and you get hit because your car dies. also i wonder how long the car will last while burning oil the way it does. as a single father taking care of 3 kids by myself i cannot just go out and get a new car whenever i want. this is very irritating.
Tl* the contact owns a 2016 dodge dart. while driving, the contact heard an abnormal beeping noise. upon opening the hood, the contact checked the oil and noticed that the dipstick was bone dry. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the contact stated that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of oil. the contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who performed a leak and comp test and the results were negative. the vehicle was taken to prestige chrysler jeep dodge (6520 centennial center blvd, las vegas, nv 89149) where the pvc valve was replaced; however, the failure recurred. the manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. the failure mileage was 71,144. *as *tr
I have a 2016 dodge dart rallye and it shuts off on my when driving it also hesitate this car is like a death trap i'm afraid of getting hit
I have a 2016 dodge dart with 63k on it. my 16 year old drives it and three days ago she is pulling out school and the car cuts off. she has have it jumped we take it to get battery checked and alternator. it shows battery is no good so we replace battery. the next morning and she on way to work and it cuts off again so we get it running and drive it around and cuts off twice more. i contacted dealer and they test it and tell me it is 2 quarts low on oil and it will cut off. we have had no indicator light that oil was low the oil had been changed less then two months again. they go to say we can request a oil consumption test in 500 miles and proceed to give me service bulletin on oil consumption. this is a safety issue as what if we are driving on freeway and it just cuts off! i ask why it's burning oil if it's oil leak and they say there no leak but don't know where oil is going and it's a common problem in darts to check oil every 500 miles.
Car stalled while driving on a on ramp to the freeway. i pulled over and tried to start it. it sounded like it was trying to turn over by itself for a good 10 seconds. when it restarted, after releasing the break my car thrust forward. then started to spuber like it wanted to stall again. at that time 3 lights came on on the dash... the check engine, stabilization and another i've never seen. was real close to a dodge dearer where i bearly made it to. when i asked the person about the tigris light coming on he told me 'that means get it in asap! something seriously wrong is with the vehicle.' the car has just over 30k miles and i know it's still under warranty.
I have been recently having issue with my 2016 dodge dart which i have only had for exactly a year this past oct. while driving in motion the car can just shut off. it has happened while on city streets as well as highways. i have torn my car to get testing where there is no code found and no lights come back on once the car starts up. i was told my battery was no good a couple months back replaced the battery and now car troubles again. i have been reading a lot of reviews where this is happening to a lot of people. this is extremely dangerous and i am in disbelief nothing has been done about this. are we waiting for someone to die to take action ?????? *dt updated 11/29/18*jb *dt consumer stated since the oil change there hasn't been any problems. updated 12/12/18*jb
On a daily bases my car will not start. (mornings before work, evenings after work, when ever i stop the car and come back to it.) i must start the car with a jump machine whenever i turn it off. today the radio started going out. once the radio goes out it feel like it wants to cut off in motion, on the street.
Twice while driving my car has just completely stalled and lost power. both times i was slowing to a stop. other times it feels as it it will stall but doesn't. it has caused two minor accidents at a stop sign due to the stalling.the other event happened at 50,0000 miles in june. i took car to dealership, no codes came up.
I have had my 2016 dodge dart for 2 years and 5 mos and this is the third time the check engine light has come on and the car seems like it wants to stall out and has problem getting power and has a pulling effect when going at regular speed, i have taken it to the dealer to replace a coli on it already; i didn't expect to have any issues with a brand new car so soon and having to pay for replacing a coil which was quite pricey to do but i did because i don't have any other means of transportation and also because the original chrysler part was on back order for several months; i don't feel that i should have to pay for these repairs being that my car is only 2 years old; and i now am having the same issue again and probably going to have to pay again to have same problem fixed; very unhappy with owning a dodge vehicle :)
Engine randomly turns off while driving. car must be pulled over, and transmission put in park or neutral in order to restart the vehicle.
Takata recall. car started fine drove about a 1/2 mile and turned them vehicle just died. engine stopped dead in its tracks, ax still blowing just a little warm, radio continues to play, all lights are on as normal. but battery light is flashing. put car in park in the middle of the road!! to restart, car starts right up and drives fine. no check engine light or any signs of problems.
The vehicle kept turning off while driving. it happened more often when vehicle was cold. checked the battery and alternator at a mechanic and all was fine. its a problem with engine oil. the car consumes oil at a rate of approximately 1 quarts per every 500 miles. when the oil reaches low levels, the vehicle will turn off while driving causing the steering wheel to get stiff and difficult to hit the breaks.
Thermostat failed at 47k miles on a 2016 dart. this should have been covered under engine warranty but wasn't. the 2.4l has a history of thermostat failings and our dealership replaces them constantly.
Vehicle has had issues from about 1300 miles . the car will randomly shut off while driving with no warning signs and has a hard time restarting , if it will restart. the car has been back to the dealer several times and diagnosed and they can not find the anything in the computer system or figure out whats wrong . i was told be the dealer that it is acceptable for the car to consume up to 1 quart of oil every thousand miles or so . the only information i was given is that it is a known oil problem and that fca (fiat chrysler automotive) is not willing to do anything about the matter . the vehicle now has about 41 thousand miles on it and is back at the dealership for further testing . this has not only cost me extra money but has created major safety concerns , i had broken down while getting on and off of the highway with my family in the car and have been stuck on or in the middle of the road several times . these 2.4l fiat motors are extremely unsafe ! i have told dodge i refuse to drive the car until they fix the issue , also i would not accept the same car as a loaner due to the fact that the last loaner car i had similar to mine also had the same issue at the last service .
Tl* the contact owns a 2016 dodge dart. in october of 2016, while driving 25 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was taken to a local dealer (napleton chrysler jeep dodge ram, 1460 e osceola pkwy, kissimmee, fl 34744) where it was diagnosed that there was inadequate oil in the vehicle during production, which caused the sensor to shut the vehicle down. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. while driving 40 mph, the oil indicator was flashing. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer where a compression test was completed. the dealer diagnosed that the oil was evaporating and the engine needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and denied the claim. the manufacturer advised the contact to add oil and refer to the owner's manual. the failure mileage was 15,638.
Tl* the contact owns a 2016 dodge dart. while driving 60 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning and the steering wheel seized. the contact was able to restart the vehicle and drove away. the dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. the failure mileage was 26,841. the vin was not available.
I have had the car for one year and six months bought the car brand new and this us the third time the check engine light has come on and the car acts as if its going to die out. the place where i purchased the vehicle from fixed and stated that the coils were bad. now i'm having the same issue again. the reason wht i bought a new vehicle was to avoid issues such as this. i traded in a 2011 vehicle that i had bought used had it for five years and never had ant check engine light issues nor any other issues.
The previous complaint was filed on september 15, 2016. ihtsa id number 10906998. originally the vehicle dying was said to be due to the oil needing to be changed and something with the turbo engine that my vehicle does not have. since the previous complaint, the computer system was updated at the dealership. there were no other issues after the computer system update. april 10th the vehicle started making a loud rattling sound. the sound begins once you get over 50-55mph and gets louder the faster you go and the longer you drive. i recorded the sound so that the dealership could not find a problem. the service department said it sounds like a bicycle chain. it is scheduled for service for the rattling problem on june 21. today while backing out of the driveway the vehicle tried stalling. after drive about 2 miles down the road, the vehicle died while pulling out from a stop sign onto the main road. a car swerved into the turning lane to keep from hitting me. this makes the 4th time that the vehicle has died while driving it. this issue is going to cause me or my children to be injured or killed. the vehicle currently has 14, 153 miles.
Their were poisonous fumes coming out of the heater, coolant, and radio speaker systems, the vehicle burned too much gas, their was no acceleration in long distance {in ref to: a seaside university section 8 housing survey}, the dealership wouldn't offer diagnostic and warranty service; after i gave them alot of money they told me not to come back to their lot; i gave them the car back; and told the judges to tell them to return all the money i gave them back into my bank account: king county superior court case # 17-2-24602-6 sea filed in seattle.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 dodge dart. while driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled and the battery and service engine indicators illuminated. the failure recurred multiple times. the vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine had no oil, which caused the failure. after adding oil, the failure recurred. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 38,000.
This 2016 dart gt has been in for service 13 times since it was purchased in march. the body connector has corroded twice and been replaced along with several corroded wires. the telematics module was also replaced after it tested inconsistent and working only 20% of the time (this is for the uconnect and bluetooth). if you hit 10mph sometimes it likes to accelerate without even touching the gas! while starting the car it now likes to say the keyfob has not been detected even when the key fob is right by the keyless start. the wireless receiver was replaced but it said key fob not detected again. this will make service visit #14! this car has serious computer/electrical issues. the keyfob not being detected issue could be deadly if it does it while the car is being driven and makes the car inoperable.
Tl* the contact owns a 2016 dodge dart. while driving various speeds, the vehicle suddenly shut off. the vehicle was towed to kendal dodge (13355 s.w. 137th ave, miami, fl), but the cause of the failure could not be determined. the manufacturer was notified and did not assist. the failure mileage was 3,000.
My 2016 dodge dart overheats the rpm goes up and down when the car is in motion. on june 26 my car cut off on me in the middle of the road and it took me ten mins to start it up my check engine light keeps going on and off and every time i take it in they say its nothing wrong with it. my oil pressure light comes on and i have 100 percent oil in my car. when i put on brakes it acts like it doesnt want to stop so ihave to brake farther away from peoples cars.
The car shakes very uruptly at idle. you can look at the engine and see it's shaking at idle. if you turn the air conditioner on it gets worse. radio screen will not work sometimes. blue tooth will work then cut off then turn back on when it feels like it. automatic headlights work then randomly not work where i have to turn them manually on. wipers do the same as the headlights but to correct the issue for the wipers it takes turning off the car and turning it back on and out them on low. engine will die randomly while driving the car at any speed. gps will not load sometimes. the back up camera works when screen works but also fails when screen is working and while backing up. during take off the car will stall like no gas then it will go like it's getting gas. during cold it shifts really rough like your using a standard slamming it in gear. i have also has 2 misfire in 2 different cylinders. one was a coil pack the other was supposedly a loose connection. took car in for all this and dealer said if their is no check engine nothing they can do even though they feel the car chair and can see the engine shaking. they tell me to come back in when light comes on. light switch has been replaced and still faults. ecm and tcm habe been reprogrammed multiple times and problems still consist.
On a city street, tried to accelerate at a stop light with the brake on. would not accelerate turning left in oncoming traffic.intermittenly (hops) in motion exiting a highway, upon braking i traffic, stopped at a traffic light and in the driveway with the key removed. tachometer has redlined (6500 rpm + ) moving in traffic at 46 mph on level road and upon take off from a red light. tachometer has revved to 5500 rpm's on the down side of a hill when on cruse control multiple times when on the highway. the car has jerked severely driving down the highway at approximately 70 mph.intermittently the climate control has difficulty in making a decision on the selection i made and has taken approximately 5 min before the air ( fan ) will engage. all dash lights have flashed when the key fob was pushed to unlock the doors. the auto door locks have failed to lock properly and engaged at 40 mph. the list is longer but my feeling is it is a computer problem and service says there is no code so no problem found. it has been in service 6 times that have been documented. my fear is this car is so defective and is going to kill me and possibly others if the computer fails with the steering or braking.the issues started @ 500 miles on the car, it now has 1900.
