I have a 1999 dodge caravan with 52000 miles and the the clockspring has gone bad chyrsler will not fix unless paid. as a mechanic i have seen quite a few in 1999 dodges this must be added to the original recall. this is a safety issue.
I was viewing your website for complaints regarding 99 dodge caravans. i just had to have my van in the shop due to a problem which seems to have been a dodge problem for several years now.. the clockspring in my van has gone out, which causes my airbag no longer to work, my horn does not work, and my cruise control no longer works. they want to charge me 260.00 to replace this part. under my own investigation, i have found that from 96-98 minivans have all had this part recalled because of all the problems i suppose they are having on this part. and now from 2000 - 2001 dodge trucks are now having a recall done on this same clockspring part! my question is why is there not a recall on this part for 99 vehicles especially considering all the previous and current problems that keep occuring.. you would think an airbag problem, would be a huge safety concern for any vehicle. and especially on dodge/chrysler products given their history with problems concerning this part!
