Recently reported FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE problems on 2011 Dodge Avenger

After being stopped in traffic for a few minutes i released the brake to accelerate, the car began to sputter and stalled immediately afterwards. i then put the car in park, turned it off and it restarted with no problems. it has done this once a week for the last three weeks. the check engine light has not come on at any point. i ran a diagnostic with the obd2 and it produces no codes. *tr

While driving on the freeway, an object hit under the vehicle and punctured a hole in the plastic, unprotected fuel tank causing a leak. fortunately it only caused a leak and did not result in a fire. i was surprised to find out that the fuel tank was plastic and did not have any protection from road hazards to prevent punctures, especially when it is so close to the ground. *tr
