Takata recall.- i am approximately 2 years old with the light from the driver's airbag turned on all the time. i had it reviewed and i was informed that it is a defect in the bag and that it will not be opened in the event of an incident. two years have passed and no revision is called for replacement. with the shift lever i was sent by chrysler a notice to carry out a revision, i did it and today after 2 years being in a street stopped and trying to make the change to drive i could never move it i just got stuck and could not drive more. how many more times will i have to call to do something about it? because i had to pay my composure and chrysler refused to reimburse me for that money arguing that my car is no longer guaranteed !!!!!

My son was traveling east on interstate 64 when another car came upon him traveling at a high rate of speed and slammed on his brakes. the road was wet and the other car started sliding out of control and hit my sons car in the passenger front door and push the whole car into a rock wall. the airbags did not deployed at all.

My airbag light constantly turning on and off when i turn left or right my car never been wrecked before
'tamara recall' my car has always just shut off at times when i would come to a stop my passenger side air bag stopped working. it's now got a fuel pump problems with a burnt sensor
Air bag light coming on and off intermittently. after looking online my car also has the same air bag light problem that have been listed numerous time (but for some odd reason my vin isn't one of the recalled cars) online. while driving the car the air bag light will come on and go off continuously. reading around i have found that the problem lies within the seat track sensor. this needs to be fixed on all cars and not just the ones chrysler deems to want to fix. this is a huge safety issue and could lead to some serious problems. the nhtsa needs to make them do the right thing and fix all the cars, not the select few they (chrysler) deem to might be having problems.
I was driving and airbag light kept coming on and going off. even after i turned my car off and back on it did the same thing.
My car is having all of the same problems that the vehicles form the tpms recall had. my car isnt covered under the recall though. the cruise control wont work, the battery just goes dead, the remote start sysyem wont work, sometimes the engine wont start, the radio stays on all the time if you dont manually shut it off, the air bag light is on even though there is nothing wrong with it. i feel as though since my car has all the same problems and i have seen many more complaints from others on this site and other websites that the recall should be reevaluated and expanded to cover more of the same year of vehicles. please do something about this for all of the owners having problems.

Could not use cruise control then air bag light came on and would not go off then it was hard to turn the steering wheel took it to my mechanic he found it to be the clock spring he tells me he's not sure if i have a accident the air bags are going to work and i could end up not being able to turn left or right in my vehicle the estimate is for 1000.00 i don't have that. if its that serious there should be a recall or investigation into this problem.
Tl* the contact owns a 2008 dodge avenger. the contact stated that the air bag warning lamp flashed and remained illuminated. the vehicle was not diagnosed. the failure was reported to the manufacturer. the vin and failure mileage were unavailable.
I took my car in on january 21, 2015 because my airbag light was flashing again but this time it's a clockspring and [xxx] at dodge told me that is not safe to drive the car like this because airbags wont work, my cruise control doesn't work and he said more things will fail. i think this should be on the recall list but it isn't. there is no way that i can have it fixed because i get $800 a month and to replace that part is $579.30. is there anyway to put this part on the recall list because it's not safe to drive. thank you *tr
Air bag light came on and would not go off. i saw there was a recall for the 2008 dodge avenger for the airbags. see below: subject: seat track position sensors makes/models/model years: chrysler/sebring/2007-2008 dodge/avenger/2008 nhtsa campaign number: 07v-240 mfg's report date: june 5, 2007 components: air bag: frontal potential number of units affected: 798 summary: on certain passenger vehicles, the front seat track position sensors utilized for the air bag system may not function properly. consequence: this could increase the risk of injury to front seat occupants during certain crash conditions. 1 remedy: dealers will inspect the front seat track position sensors and replace it free of charge. the recall began on june 18, 2007. owners may contact daimlerchrysler at 1-800-853-1403. notes: daimlerchrysler recall no. g14. customers may contact the national highway traffic safety administration's vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (tty: 1-800-424-9153); or go to http://www.safercar.gov. i contacted dodge by email and they told me that my vin# was not included in the recall. i had went under the seat and the airbag sensors were loose and when i tightened them the airbag light went off. my problem is my avenger is doing the same thing that the recall is out for and dodge said since my vin# was not included in the recall it is my responsibility to have the sensors inspected and replaced if needed. i feel my car shoulsd of been included in the recall. *tr
I have been told that my 2008 dodge avenger is not included on the airbag recall list. i have the exact year and model that is being recalled. i have been told i need a new airbag, at a cost of approximately $900. *tr
Air bag light would come on intermittentaly and stay on for a period of time and then just shut off sometimes. after a number of repairs, it was discovered that the track sensor under the seat was not functioning properly (same as nhtsa campaign number: 07v240000) but my vin was not included in the recall.
This has happened several times but today was the worst. the car has lost power several times in the rain mostly when making a turn or slowing down. this time i was driving no rain and the electronic throttle control light starting flashing. i was on the high way and noticed i couldn't accelerate. i started to slow down and move to the side of the road where it just lost power. thank god i was able to pull over because there was a lot of traffic and i would have been hit. also my son usually drives this car. this has happened several times to him and when it stalls you loose all power steering and brakes. it is really dangerous. we have had it to the dealer twice and they cant duplicate the problem so according to them there is no problem. i have been reading others complaints and they all seem to be the same issue. also the airbag light keeps coming on. is there any resolution to this issue. it seems that people have to die before issues get resolved .i hope dodge will issue a recall before that happens. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2008 dodge avenger. the contact stated that while driving at any speed attempting adjust the seat track, the air bag warning light illuminated and remained on. the failure recurred multiple times. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the contact stated that the failure was directly related to nhtsa campaign number: 07v240000 (air bags); however, the vin was not included in the recall. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 112,000.
My car horn goes off periodically and stays on when im driving or parked without me blowing it .also my seat belt light comes on every time i turn on the vehicle .when im driving the engine oil light comes on the wheel tighten up and the vehicle slows down and cuts completely off. i have been driving on busy streets when this happen as well as express ways. once it cuts off if i sit and a couple minutes the car may start back driving like nothing happen...usually. i sit for 30 minutes before it start up..i have taken it to mechanic and its something with the electrical system no codes are coming up when i went to place it on a machine..one mechanic said it my be the ignition not connecting ..can this be investigated because this car is doing things on its own the horn will go off when im parking driving and the fuse was checked. *tr
I was cut off by another driver who failed to stop and yield to oncoming traffic (me). i braked hard to avoid rear ending him, but he turned into my lane when i was too close. to make the long story shot, i ended up colliding with him. the crash was pretty bad, and both the driver and passenger air bags failed to deploy. i sustained major injuries to my face, shoulders, back, neck, and legs. a police report was made, but i have not reported the defect to dodge. what should i do? should i go civil? *tr
I was driving 40 mph on a main road when i noticed my air bag light come. i was in the middle of talking about it with a friend and my air bag suddenly deployed in my seat. no accident or injuries but it could have been worse. i took the car to the shop where it sat for 4 months. they replaced the airbags but i had to pay $3000 for everything else that was wrong so that they could fix the air bag. that included the damaged crankshaft, the timing chain, the sensors, the fuel system that randomly stopped working the day i took it in. they told me there was no tell when all this was damaged. i bought the car at 53000 miles and was told it was in a rear end minor accident. but no other accident. i got my car back in july and it was working just fine for a little while and now all the problems i have had before are occurring again. those problems are the stalling at stop lights, the rpm revving on its own when i'm in park, and the air bag light again keeps coming on when the passenger seat is moved. also today i noticed that the paneling around my drivers seat belt isn't put together all the way. should i be concerned? chrysler needs to do something! *tr

Backing car out of the garage ,airbag light came on. *tr
Air bag light comes on and stays on when moving seat up or back which makes the sensor come on, have to keep moving the track until it turns off. is this related to recall g14? fan in radiator constantly turns off and on, and now my car seems to have a electrical short that makes a knocking noise in the engine compartment when the air/heater is turned off, also the left side of car defroster does not work. most recent the left driver seat belt all of a sudden is not retracting, this is not safe in the case of an accident, dealer is charging an outrageous price to have it fixed. *tr
I have a 2008 dodge avenger. my airbag light keeps coming on and off intermittently. i noticed if i move passenger seat forward or back it comes on and stays on longer. when i'm driving down the road there can be no one in the seat and the light will come on. after reading all the complaints around this issue, air bags deploy when driving and not hitting anything, or air bags not deploying when in collision, i think this is a huge safety issue! all of these people were told their vin # didn't match the recall. i made appointment with lithia dodge in helena mt and the guy told me on the phone he didn't even want me to drive the car because of how unsafe it is. i took it to appointment today and the guy today told me there are no recalls on my car. he said the airbag light has nothing to do with the airbag recall. what!?! big surprise, my vin doesn't match!! why are we all having the same safety issue but not on the recall list???? *tr

The airbag light is illuminated continuously. the air bag will not deploy if there is an accident. i called the dealer and my vehicle does not qualify for a recall though it was made in 2008. other 2008 dodge avengers are eligible. *tr
My air bag light keeps coming on periodically. i don't know if there is a malfunction, i just need to know that if i need them, they will work.

The airbag light came on. it will go off if the seats are moved forward and then back to the original position. i was told that 08 avengers were recalled for an airbag sensor issue, but that mine had to do with a high level of resistance seen in the circuit and was not the sensor. dodge has taken some responsibility for the issue as they agreed to pay $500 of the total $1,100 repair cost. i was told that this issue could cause the airbags to deploy without warning and may also cause them to fail to deploy in an incident. my belief is that this is a defect in the circuitry and/or airbags themselves and other owners may not be aware. dodge is failing to provide a full investigation on this issue and is also failing to take full responsibility for this failure. *tr
