Tl* the contact owns a 2008 dodge avenger. the contact stated that the air conditioner failed. the contact also stated that the engine caught on fire, in which he beleived was directly related to the air conditioning failure. the contact had the vehicle towed to the dealer for inspection where they advised that there were no failures found within the vehicle. the failure later recurred and the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 50,000.

I got a recall on my dodge avenger, due to a plate on the shifter, i took it to dealer, they replaced the part, and less then 2 mo. my car locked in park and unable to get to go into gear, had to have car towed to dealer again and they had to replace the shifter, they charge me $100. and said it was deductible , i feel it was not my place to have to pay to fix a part that has been recalled, and they messed up. the dealer said they had several shifter to have to replaced since they changed out the recalled part. *kb

2008 dodge avenger all four valves on the vehicle are corroded and have broken off. one tire is unable to even receive any air into the tire. this is a safety issue!!!! i am very afraid that this will cause harm to me and my family. i went to a mechanic who told me that he has seen this happen on many chrysler/dodge vehicles and that it is a manufacturer defect. i was told to go to the dealer ship and that they may replace this for me but was just handed to the side with a phone number. when calling this "safety" number i was once told again that they could and would not do anything for me. i have read and heard that this is a huge issue on the make of this vehicle so why is chrysler not doing anything to fix the problem? what will this take? i cannot afford over 500 dollars to fix a valve issue that chrysler is reliable for. *kb

My 2008 dodge avenger had been sitting in front of my house since the beginning of may 2011. on the 24th of june 2011 i decided to take it in to the dodge dealers to have it fixed. while driving on the highway the car suddenly started to make a loud roaring noise and jerk. i drove into an exit in order to get off the highway. while trying to turn the steering wheel to enter the yard of a station i noticed that there was no response. the car kept sliding towards the curb. i had to quickly pull up the handbrakes to stop the car from running into the curb and beyond. then it stalled blocking the entrance to the gas station. before totally stopping, all the lights and indicators on the dash board were going on and off like crazy this is the second time that i have had to tow the car in to the dodge people. the first time, in 2010, the shift stick would not budge from park to drive and the car just wouldn't start. we had it towed to the dodge dealer in baltimore. in january of 2011, we had had to take the car in to dodge repair shop for a problem for which they had recalled their vehicles, including ours. we mentioned to the mechanics at the dodge repair shop about a loud noise that we were hearing. they had said that the loud noise was probably the alternator. we bought this car in march 2009 at a ford dealer in baltimore. we noticed very soon after, that the clock raced ahead. next the controls on the driver's side stopped working and would not lock nor unlock any of the doors. only the controls on the passenger's side worked. the cost to fix the alternator is $650. it has cost us, not only car rental fees taxi fees and towing fees, but the uncertainty of safety on the road. this is a very unfair deal for any consumer. this is a vehicle that needs to be recalled and consumers compensated or refunded.. *tr

Purchased my 2008 dodge avenger in april 2008 and have had nothing but problem after problem with it first the air bags were recalled then the latches on the doors were recalled. the tire pressure sensor light just never goes off most recently the fuel pump went on the vehicle costing me close to 700 and now the alternator which is going to cost me another 600. what kind of vehicle did dodge build. this is some bs an all of this is while the vehicle only has about 65000 miles or less n it. *tr

2008 dodge avenger with automatic transmission will not move out of park. drove car in morning to work and 8 hours later after starting and then depressing the brake pedal to shift the shift lever would not mover from park. bought this car new and it has only 29,000 miles after 2 years of ownership. *tr

Horrible whining noise from under hood....drive belt area. *tr

I went to go get in my car to go to work after returning home 3 hours earlier and my park would not shift out of park. my wife and i took apart the console to find out if anything was jammed in it such as lose change but there wasn't. she decided to go online to do some research and discovered that this has happened to a lot of people. i have 88,000 miles on my 2008 dodge avenger but i take great care with maintenance. of course there has not been a recall but i hope they do. the pink button everyone is referring to we have not tried yet... *tr

Automatic transmission: i was not able to put the car into drive, reverse or neutral. *tr

While i was driving with the air conditioning on i noticed the left 2 vents were coming out warm air. a couple days later there was a mist coming through the only 2 vents that work. i took it in and was told my heatercore/heater housing was broke. that would cost $900.00 to fix. also i have had my car stall 6 times, mostly when it is raining and i am coming to a stop sign or stop light. i took it in for that but they couldn't find anything. i also had the clock run 2 min fast every day or two. that had to be updated which doesn't make since to me since it is a 2008 car. it should not need an update on the clock. that was $50.00. the car has 56,000 miles on it. *tr

Front passenger airbag light kept coming on. dealer found that internal fault w/seat side air bag module. *tr

2008 dodge avenger stuck in park. *tr

The latch that lets you take the car out of park is malfunctioning that only allows you to take the car out of park by pushing a pink latch button under the shifter. *tr

I have a 2008 dodge avenger that brakes are bad. the vehicle has been taken to dodge several times for service and the brakes only last 2 months before they go out again. fortunate for me i have not had any accidents yet with this vehicle and the braking system going out. dodge has replaced the entire braking system and still i have this problem and refuse to believe that their is a safety issue with this particular vehicle and i have tried to contact the service manager, gm of the waldorf dodge and chrysler but no one has resolved this problem or even has gotten back to me on this issue. i have several receipts for parts that were replaced on the car and can provide them upon request the receipts have the part numbers on them. *tr

Im was looking at the crash ratings because i just purchase a 2008 avenger, if the doors can open with side impact, can you recall the cars to fix this issue, before some one loses a life or what can i do to fix the problem. *tr

2008 dodge avenger with bad shocks and windshield. consumer states that the shocks ride rough, and the windshield has a crack on the passenger side and it is spreading and not indication of a rock hitting the window, and more. *kb the speakers were replaced. *jb
