Tl* the contact owns a owns a 1999 chrysler lhs. the contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under the recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number 03v035000 (seats:front assembly:recliner). while parked, the front driver's seat unexpectedly reclined. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that the seat back recliner bolt was broken. the vehicle was repaired. approximately eight months later the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken back to the authorized dealer where the seat was again repaired. the failure mileage was unknown.
Dt*: the contact stated while adjusting the seating position of the front driver seat, the power adjust was inoperative. upon initial inspection, the contact determined the mounting ball screw housing that connected the recliner function on the underside of the seat was fractured and the screw was loose. although the dealer was notified, the manufacturer was not.
The vehicle was involved in a rear end collision and as a result the seat broke and fell backwards. the driver sustained injuries to the neck and back. *nlm.*ak
