Recently reported STEERING problems on 2000 Chrysler Grand Voyager

I was driving on a rainy day, and was exiting the parkway, turning into the mall parking lot, when the power steering went out. the wheel was so hard to turn, barely made it into the parking lot. found out from mechanic belt slipped off. this has happened, twice more since this incident, with brand new belts. today it rained, i was turning in an intersection and it happened again. i am surprised no one had died from this defect. if i was on the highway i do not know what could have happened. why hasn't chrysler fixed this along time ago. i am currently buying a gates 38739 repair kit after seeing online that other people with this car have the same problem. *tr

Every time it rains and i have to drive through a puddle the belt comes off the van. i immediately lose power steering and the car starts to overheat. many times i have been stranded on the side of the road or barely been able to muscle the car out of danger with my children inside. i am outraged that chrysler knows about this problem and does nothing to remedy it. are they waiting for someone to die? *tr
