Purchased crossfire in california in december of 2012 with 45000 miles on it. commencing january 2013, rear glass commenced coming detached from canvas convertible top. condition continues and is a dangerous situation for both passengers and drivers behind car. if glass breaks loose it could cause serious bodily harm. chrysler is very well aware of the situation and has paid to repair the vehicles on a sporadic basis. their last comments to me was due to my vehicle being first delivered in california, it was exempt from the recall for eight southern states. this is quite perplexing as the vehicles are identical, with the same problems. only in different states. i have just learned that they replaced the top on a vehicle in chicago. clearly not one of the states named in the south. i would like them to honor what they are doing all over the country. perhaps it is because they probably sold the most of these vehicles here in california. they are also excusing themselves from doing repairs because the cars were never climate tested in california. if not, they are relying on testing done on the mb slk. an identical vehicle. please help me get my vehicle repaired under the warranty extended to so many others. *tr
My rear window is separating from the convertible canvas top. i contacted chrysler as there is an extended warranty of 10 years or 100,000 miles: nhtsa sb 23035-11 rev a. i was told the nhtsa was for vehicles delivered only in certain states. what does the state have to do with a faulty adhesion problem? after a number of emails and phone calls chrysler has turned down the request. concerned there is a danger if the window comes out on the highway. *tr
Rear window on convertible top adhesive failed, window fell out overnight. top is in good condition otherwise. this poses a real safety hazard, and appears to be a common issue based upon my web searches. *tr
When traveling down the road i noticed that the glass rear window on my convertible 2005 chrysler crossfire roadster had become partially unattached from the canvas top and was hitting against the body when i would hit a bump. when i got home i did an internet search about how to fix it, and found that this is a common problem with the crossfire rear window of this model year and although chrysler admits the problem they are only fixing/covering the repair based on the vin #. if i would have known this i would have bought a solstice or s2000. i can't afford a new top which is their only solution of course at my own expense. i took it to several shops to see if they would re-glue it for me. the top is mint except for the loose window. c'mon chrysler man up and fix this for every owner not just some of them! *js
The rear glass of my 2005 chrysler crossfire convertable detached from the top and fell out suddenly at 65 mph. the only thing that saved it from causing possible injuries was the rear glass heater wiring. the car is garaged and only driven maybe one day a week. *tr
Rear window is separating from convertible top. could fall out. chrysler is aware of this problem and is repairing some but not all due to the state it was delivered to. i want it to be on record that they were informed of this safety problem. *tr
The back window has separated from the convertible top and has fallen out due to faulty glue. i have done a lot of research showing that hundreds of owners are having this same problem. chrysler is unwilling to help any of us. they need to be forced to issue a recall and repair these problems because of their faulty manufacturing. *tr
The rear window of the convertible top fell completely out of the vehicle. *tt
Glue on back glass has separated on one third of glass. if it continues ,the glass could fall out. if this were to happen while applying brakes, i don't want to think of the consequences.
The rear window came unglued from the convertible top on my 2005 chrysler crossfire. car stays in the garage when not driving and is well maintains with no accidents. chrysler said it was not a defect and is not covered in their extended warranty which i was told was "bumper to bumper" at the time of sale. they will not repair the glass and said i have to replace the top for over $3,000. *tr
Add me to the list as many others have a problem with the 2005 chrysler crossfire convertible rear glass falling out of the car because of poor workmanship. it was glued in with no other support and the glass just came loose sitting in the carport. this seems to be a major problem with this model car. i have been in touch with chrysler service department and they refuse to do anything about this problem. it presents a safety hazard and i am registering a formal complaint to at least have this investigated for its potential danger. *kb
My convertable top is in excellent condition except for the fact that the rear window is falling out and i am being told that i have to replace my whole top in order to replace the window because of the poor design. this is now a safety issue as the rear window is about to fall off and no way to repair it without total replacement of the convertable top which is very pricey and because of the poor design will have to be replaced in another 5-6 years. *tt

I have a 2005 chrysler crossfire that i have owned for five months. about two weeks ago the rear window fell out of my convertible. from what i have found out this seems to be a continuing problem with this years model. have not seen any info about any other crossfire models after 2005 with this problem. maybe they realized that there was a problem and fixed it from 2006 on up called to see if my extended service contract covers this, was told no it was a trim issue my insurance will help cover the cost to replace but that doesn't seem fair to them, the cars not wrecked. looks like two grand aprox. to replace the top, ( probably with a 2006 or newer top ! ) *tr
i have a 2005 chrysler crossfire that i purchased 1 year ago and the rear window has came apart from the convertible top fabric. the tops are on backorder at chrysler and i have only found one shop in california that has a replacement, but i have to have the full top frame removed and shipped to them for replacement. the top alone is 3k. in the interim my expensive car sits in the garage collecting dust. truly not acceptable. *tr

Back window came unglued without any cause, car was parked in driveway. *tr
I purchased my convertible chrysler crossfire about 2 1/2 years ago. about five or six weeks ago i noticed that the rear window had come unglued. i took the vehicle to a glass shop and i was told that there was nothing that the repairman could do because the window is attached to the convertible top. he suggested that i take the vehicle to an upholstery shop. i actuall y took the vehicle to three different upholstry shops and all three told me that the top would need to be replaced. i tried filing an insurance claim. they told me that there was nothing that they could do. i contacted the chrysler headquarters customer service line where i was greeted by a rude individual telling me that there is nothing that chrysler could do. i am now at a point of frustration and disappointment. i still have 1 1/2 left to make payments on this vehicle that i won't be able to drive. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 chrysler crossfire srt. the contact stated that the rear hatchback window fractured from the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the window was repaired yet the failure recurred. the dealer repaired the window a second time yet the window fractured again within one month. the dealer then advised him to contact the manufacturer. the manufacturer did not offer any assistance. the vehicle was repaired again and the failure recurred. the manufacturer advised the contact that they would install a new convertible to remedy the failure, at the contact's expense. the vehicle was not further repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 16,000 and the current mileage was approximately 17,000.
I own a 2005 chrysler crossfire convertible. the rear window fell out for no apparent reason. this is a major safety issue and should be recalled by chrysler. if window came out during a crash, the glass window could seriously injure the driver or passenger. a flying sheet of glass. chrysler should be held accountable to fix this defect. there are numerous complaints on line about this. the other thing is the cost of repair. this can only be fixed by replacing the entire top for $2,000. this is ridiculous. there should be a class action suit on this issue. i guess chrysler will wait for someone to lose their life before taking action. buy american, what a joke!!! *tr
The ignition has locked up and will not turn, also the headlight coverings have turned very cloudy limiting sight distance when driving at night, in the rain, at dusk, and dawn, and during fog. *tr
I have a 2005 chrysler crossfire and the glass window fell out and no one can repair it and chrysler is no help at all. *tr
2005 chrysler crossfire 12,000 miles in new condition. rear window separating from fabric convertible top due to poor engineering using inadequate sealant. no know fix available due to numerous complaints found online. chrysler will not warrant the issue. conv. top hasn't been updated so there is no know fix!! *tr
I own a 2005 chrysler crossfire convertible. it has 27,434 miles on it. the back glass window came unglued and partially fell into the rear deck. it cannot be repaired with additional glue. the remainder of the top is in excellent shape. it is now costing me $2850.00 for a new top. clearly, this is a design flaw and safety hazard. a recall is in order. *tr
We have a 2005 chrysler crossfire,my wife was driving down the road when the back glass came apart from the convertible top and hit her,it didn't break the glass but almost caused her to hit an oncoming truck,we contacted the chrysler dealership where we had purchased it and they offered no help, only that we would have to buy a complete new top,i asked the woman how do i know this wont happen again and cause a wreck this time and her reply was,i don't know ! we have called everyone we can find to do something about this and no one knows what to do? the car still remains undriveable right now. *tr
Back glass completely fell out of 2005 chrysler crossfire convertible top. the rest of the top is in immaculate condition. i have searched around and this appears to be a very common issue suffered by crossfire convertible owners. i have not been provided any assistance from the dealership, and it is clear this is a defective issue. *tr
In 2009, i purchased a 2005 crossfire, it was in perfect condition with only 32000 miles on it. i have kept it in my garage. this last april, i noticed the rear glass window began to separate from the canvas top. i was surprised to find out it is only supported by adhesive glue. it is a glass window, what were they thinking, it needs better support. chrysler has been of little help and i hate to replace due to the cost due and because the top itself is still in good condition. they need to remedy this as it seems to be a defect. *tr
Rear glass separates from the convertible cloth top. glue adhesive problem. glass can be reattached using better glass adhesive available at most auto supply stores. *tr
Rear window fell out of convertible top. *tr
Back windshield fell out of car. the company has had a problem with this from all the information i can get on it. the car only has 40,000 miles on it. never have i had a car to lose back windshield. i'm on a waiting list for a new top (this can't be repair...has to be replaced) since july. the estimated time to get it in is oct. 29, 2009. this is a defect that should be recalled. i'm just lucky i wasn't driving when it popped out. *tr
2005 crossfire convertible, always garaged. back window glass released from top. warranty will nto cover even though dealership states known issue. if this had happened while driving could have caused serious injury. replacement cost is $2200+ as all repair shops stated same diags...cannot simply glue back in as will only last a few months at most. all shops also stated they see this on a continuous basis. there are literally hundreds of these complaints of this same issue on the web. *tr
