Events leading to failure: ordinary driving, including high speed acceleration, low speed acceleration, low speed deceleration, stopped, idling in gear. 5 occurrences in 2000 miles. engine fails completely, followed by immediate restart capability. normal operation for many more miles. car's computer fault code report is consistent with description contained in chrysler recall below. chrysler recall (notification code j18) appeared to address the issue, but was rescinded. was told by dealer service dept. that chrysler is working on the problem, no solution yet (2 weeks after receipt of the recall notice.) dealer recommended the car not be driven. present situation: must either drive an unsafe car or be without transportation. date entered for this report was first occurence. 4 additional events continued through 2009. tw*
