Problems with 2016 Chrysler 300 AIR BAGS

While vehicle is on and running "service air bag system" message randomly appears and disappears when the vehicle is in park or in motion. service air bag indicator light also illuminates randomly after message is displayed and then goes out after a random amount of time has elapsed. took vehicle to local chrysler dealership and they said that it maybe be one of several known issues that they are aware of but no recalls have been issued on any of the possible safety issues that maybe causing the notification. they would not be able to do anything to the vehicle to fix the problem for sure and guarantee the air bags actually will work when needed.

Tl* the contact owned a 2016 chrysler 300. while driving 60 mph, the contact rear ended the preceding vehicle. the air bags did not deploy. a police report was filed. there were no injuries. the vehicle was towed to a salvage yard and deemed destroyed. the manufacturer inspected the vehicle and the contact was informed that the cause of the failure could not be determined after reviewing the electronic data collection. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs. the failure mileage was approximately 43,000. *dt

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 chrysler 300. while driving 20 mph, the steering wheel seized, which resulted in a front end collision. the contact stated that the power steering and air bag indicators illuminated. the air bags did not deploy. a police report was filed. the front end on the driver's side was damaged, but the vehicle was not destroyed. the contact sustained injuries to the right knee, chest, and lower back. the contact's wife struck her head on the passenger side window and sustained a back injury. medical attention was required. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and repaired. the vehicle was not diagnosed at the time. the dealer was not contacted. the contact called the manufacturer and was informed that there were no recalls for the failure. the failure mileage was 30,000.

I received a notice in the mail specifying that my vehicle's airbags may have a recall.
