Manufacturers have notified me by mailers. dealerships have failed to notify me. when i have contacted them, they never have parts in stock.
Based on "nhtsa" proof report attached below regarding this issue. ( safety recall n65 / nhtsa 13v-610 transmission output shaft ) it was happened to me 100% but still not updated my vehicle manufacturing date in that document. recently the local dealer charge me the full cost of valve body transmission without any convincing reason.
1. while driving at normal speeds my car seems to struggle shifting into gear. it also makes clunking sounds going up hill. today i accelerated to get onto the highway and the vehicle made a loud noise for a few seconds and finally got up to speed. 2. my vehicle also has a factory rust proofing and the quarter panels are showing large spots of rust on the front and rear of the vehicle.
Car was in motion when the gear shifted from drive to stop causing the car to come to an abrupt stop. the wiper blades came on by themselves, the gear shift indicators began blinking off and on, the transmission monitor began stating that do not turn the car off, then began flashing: proceed to destination , turn car off to turn to start car, check engine light began flashing and the power steering indicator began flashing on .after about twenty minutes i was able to get the shift indicator to shift into gear so that i could get the car out of the street.
After shifter recall for park function installed: 4 days after install, while backing up from a parking space, car slammed into park violently, could not pull forward or backward without car slamming into park. dealer could find no problem. 10 weeks later while slowing down at a four way stop intersection, car jerked. when i started into the intersection, screen on dash said transmission service needed,do not put car in n or p, or turn off car, continue to your...traction light and engine light came on. my car would not shift or move. people were swerving and hitting their brakes to avoid a collision with me. trying to give car gas, and it going into park, finally got to curb. called dealer, told to turn off car. it went to acc mode and shut off. tow truck driver could not get car started, he used manual override to load car. dealer did not diagnose car for 7 days, then said it was dead battery, could not find any problems. picked up car, drove 37 miles, slowed down to merge onto a county highway, car jerked, and same message came up, same lights came on. managed to pull off road. turned off car. it stayed in run mode would not restart. called dealer, had car towed. when car got to dealer, it started up ,they drove it three blocks, said no problem, no code shown. dealer says it is not the recall fix, i refused to pickup car, afraid to drive it. told dealer take a 40 mile drive then around town. no word yet
I took my vehicle into the dealership for a recall months ago and it still isn't fixed. it states in the recall letter it should take about two hours to complete. it's even been transferred to another dealership to try to be fixed. i've been given loaner cars that do not meet the standards of my current vehicle by model or by dependability. i wish to clear up this matter as quickly as possible now. i have a family and other responsibilities to tend to. this has been a very stressful, traumatic experience and i need assistance in clearing this matter up once and for all please.

I purchased this chrysler 300 in 2014 and paid cash 25,000 and only have 17,000 because i fear for my life to drive it. on several occasion my vehicle has stopped while in motion without warning and the gear slips from drive to park. while exiting my vehicle after i have parked my car slips into drive causing me to stumble. on two separate occasions i had to call a tow truck to aid me because my vehicle would stop with warning. once while driving on a highway my car stopped while traveling at a high rate of speed and went into park on its own, i notified the towing company and it had to be towed to a dealership. while at a dealership i was notified of a defect and they stated they would fix it. on a second occasion while attempting to park in my driveway the car continued to put itself in park and while trying to reverse my car went into park. after several attempts i again contacted a towing company where they towed me to another dealership where they again attempted to fix the transmission. again after 2 years i am still fearful to drive my vehicle. i have made attempts to contact the dealership to no avail. my vehicle continues to move from drive to park and vise versa. please help i have no other means of transportation, my husband has recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer and i need this vehicle in order to work and take him to his doctor's appointment. at this rate we will both need doctors if i'm not dead first. this is my final attempt to get assistance with vehicle maintenance and repairs. although the dealership has made attempts to remedy this situation, i continue to have problems with the transmission. i am completely terrified to drive my vehicle each time i drive.

I got into my car which was parked inside my house garage. i put the car in reverse and moved about 1 to 2 feet back - but had to stop the car as my brother wanted to get into the car. i put the car in "park". as he was getting into the passenger side of the car i started to get out of the car as i wanted to get a towel on my garage shelf. however, before my brother could close the door the car started rolling backwards out of the garage. i was already out of the car when it was moving backwards so i could not get back into the driver's seat -so instead i reach down and pressed the brake pedal with my hand. but it was too late. the passenger door got caught on the garage wall and was bent backwards. the passenger door is now damaged, bent in two places and does not closed correctly.

On numerous times i have no idea what gear the transmission is in. i park the car and think it is in park only to find out it is in reverse.as i am stepping out of the car it starts to back up. this is a dangerous design flaw by chrysler corp.there needs to be some sort of safety mechanism installed to make sure the engine is off upon exit.
On february 7, 2016, my husband parked his 2014 chrysler 300 in a parking spot in a parking lot and exited the vehicle with the engine running. i was seated in the front passenger seat with our 11 year-old child behind me and 9 year-old child seated behind the driver's seat. all 3 of us were wearing seat belts. my husband walked across the parking lot and down the block. i was texting someone on my cellphone when my 11 year-old exclaimed that the car was moving. without looking up from my phone, i explained to her that it was probably the illusion of a car pulling into or out of the parking spot beside us. she screamed, "no the car is definitely moving!" the car was accelerating backywards. i made every effort to move the gearshift, grab the steering wheel and hit the brakes but due to the size of the large console i could not swing my leg over to reach the brake. the car moved in reverse across the parking lot and struck an unoccupied vehicle that was parked on the opposite side of the lot. thankfully, the car did not strike any pedestrians or occupied vehicles, as this was a busy parking lot. our chrysler endured significant damage while the damage to the other vehicle was minor. my children and i were extremely upset. we are very grateful that no one was physically injured but we were all quite shaken by the out of control car. the impact was such that it make a loud "thud" sound when it collided with the other vehicle and jolted us a bit. we were completely shocked that the car seemingly on it's own went from "park" into "reverse". my husband had time to walk across the parking lot and down the block before the vehicle started to move. the vehicle was long out of his sight before it started to move. this car is dangerously defective. we reported this incident to our insurance carrier the next day.
The gear shifter on this car continually causes the car to not shift to the desired gear, especially when shifting from drive into reverse or park. thankfully, i have not had any major accidents because of this defect, however, i have damaged my daughter's bicycle and my garage door because the car was not in park. this is a serious accident waiting to happen.

I have experienced several issues with my transmission shifting erratically at various speeds. this is a brand new car. i have it serviced several times for the same issue after i first purchased it in january 2015. they said it needed an software update. it worked and shifted normal for one day and after that i can step on the gas lightly and it shifts uncontrollably, from first to second and/or has trouble getting out of first or second gear and slams into third gear by a jolt into each gear. it's very dangerous at stop lights when i barely step on the gas and several times it jaunts forward quicker than expected with my foot barely on the gas. or i can step on the gas peddle and it doesn't go or find the gear until a sudden thrust forward which has almost caused me several accidents. i have taken it to the dealer and will be taking it again and they don't have an answer why it does that. all they do is say they'll re-load the software and it doesn't help fix the situation. this is an accident just waiting to happen overtime. i'm at a stop light not knowing how the drive train will respond. always alert or even just pulling out of the drive is when it will change gear unexpectedly driving it when it's not warmed up. very very dangerous. thank goodness i'm a safe driver. i can't even trust someone else to drive my car for fear that will get in an accident because of the shifting issues. this has been an issue for years on this model but never a recall on the transmission. over 300 complaints and still nothing and the dealer can't fix the issue.

Brand new 2014 chrysler 300 s purchased 12/5/2014 . 595 miles on odo today, 1/17/2015. driving home today i noticed a split second surge, like the brakes grabbed, like the car lurched. shortly after i noticed the check engine light was illuminated. pulled over and shut/started the engine. check engine still there. started out from the curb, and the engine revved to approx. 3000 but the car barely moved, the transmission lagged relative to engine speed. [i.e.not engaging or slipping]. gradually it picked up speed. stopped again same thing. tried to shift to sport mode with out success....no sport mode, so paddle shifters also failed . i could shift to p,r,n,d. not sport mode. a short while after i was home, i started the car, check engine still lit. while still parked now i could shift to sport mode. drove a short distance in drive, but eco not showing in infomat display. sport mode/paddle shifters now were working but would not shift to 8th gear. prior to this event, and hours before it took place.....i paired my cell phone and it automatically loaded all my contacts. i used both contacts and voice recognition to make calls no problems. so it was working great earlier in the day. when the transmission problem took place [explained above] i tried to make a call, and the screen showed "no phone connected".. everything including contacts evaporated like i never paired the cell. i would think both problems are connected. *tr
When i put the car into park, it pops into reverse. then i hit the engine off button, but since it is in reverse, the engine stays on. then i open the door to get out, thinking the engine is off and the car is in park ,and it starts rolling backward. this has happened 6 times. the car is in the shop now. *tr
I contacted the dealership the previous wednesday to let them know that the car was shifting erratically. it would not shift when it should, instead the car would drop out of gear then hang open for a moment before it would slam into the next gear. i contacted the dealership and they said i could stop in the next wednesday (1/14/15). on the 13th i was making the first turn from my home and the car would not shift from first gear. i called the dealership and they had me come in. my house was only a couple miles away so i drove in there while staying under 20mph. my concern now is that the car shifts but not in the same way it did when it was first bought. i don't know if this is good or bad and what other damage could have been caused by the hard slamming of the gears. *tr
I feel the gear selector on my 2014 chrysler 300 is vague, confusing, and dangerous. it is electronic and pivots instead of moving one spot for each gear selection. if you park and attempt to shift from drive to park sometimes it makes it and sometimes it ends up in reverse. when this happens the engine does not turn off when you push the stop button and as you step out the car takes off backwards. also when shifting from park to drive sometimes it goes past drive and into low, so i ended up driving for a time stuck in low gear and not knowing until you go to slow or stop and it feels like the brakes are stuck on so you start looking for the reason. i have hated this car almost since i leased it in december of 2014. i feel with the lack of a switch key to turn the engine on and off, and this vague gear selector this group of vehicles is an accident waiting to happen. i have tried to trade it in but i still have 13 months left and can do nothing. please look into this...thank you *tr ...updated 03/31/17 *bf *js
