My vehicle would not start on 8/6/13. it was taken to the chrysler dealership on northlake blvd in lake park, fl. on 8/9/13 i was told the car needed a win module and it would take appprox. two weeks to come in, that it was on back order. i asked if it was because they were replacing so many and was told no, it was because "too many people are replacing them unnecessarily", i asked if they had a loaner car since it was not our fault that it would take so long to get the part and we could not afford a rental, that we were a three car family down to only one car. i was told no they do not supply loaner cars or reimbursement on a rental car. it seems to me that if a part is taking that long to get it must be because they are having to replace so many. i see another complaint on here for the exact same thing!!! i also googled it and there are many people having the same problem. i would not have known to file a complaint if a friend hadn't told me about this so chances are the others that are having this problem don't know to file a complaint. *tr

So i was having starting issues with my car, it would start when it wanted to.. so i took my car to chrysler on august 23rd, 2013 to have them diagnosis the issue, well they took a day to do that and called me and told me that it was the wireless module device and that it would take a week to come in and they would call me. a week passed and i had to call them, and that's when they told me that the wireless module device was on back order and that they weren't sure when the part would be in... 8 weeks later the part finally came and they added the part and it still wouldn't work, so they said they where going to have to another diagnosis test on it.. after that they called me and said that they would have to put a new starter and new wires on it because they wires were melted and they would have to change them out. ok so they fixed that issue and then said if i have the same problem again i would need a new tipm module device.. a few weeks later i started having the same starting issues and now it getting worse... chrysler wants me to pay another 1000.00 to fix the tipm module device..... i just read online about the law suite against chrysler for that part for my year and model.. *tr

My vehicle would not start on 6/14/2013 it was towed to the chrysler dealership (9600 atlantic blvd. jacksonville, fl (904) 721-6888) on 6/14/2013 this was after hours. on 6/14/2013 i was told that the car needed a win module and it would take three weeks to come in. when asking for a exact date i was told on 6/18/2013 that the part would not be in until juy 23 but it may come in a little earlier. i asked about a rental car i was told it would be a discount of $25 a day. after talking to the manger i was told to call chrysler corporation to see what could be done. after talking with chrysler i was told that the could not give me a rental car because my warranty had expired. they told me all they could do for me was find me a part. i did not hear from them concerning this situation. on july 18, i recieved a call from lisa from the dealership saying that my car would not be ready until august 20 because they have to manufactor the part. they could not locate this part any where in jacksonville. when i asked about a rental car or any compensation nothing was offered. i was only told to call the chrysler corporation. when calling the chrysler corporation there did not try to assist me they stated that they could not offer me a rental car or anything for my inconvience. i asked to speak to a manger they stated they the manager would not say anything different and would not let me speak to a manager. this situation has inconviened me in many ways i don't have any transportaion to get where i need to be and i am losing money . chrysler offer any assistance when you calling customer service. i am very displeased with chrysler they seem only to be about makeing money and does not look out for customers. it seems they are giving me the run around they keep changing the date my car will be fixed. it is not my fault the about the part but i am being penalized for this. *tr

I have replaced everything on my front end trying to get rid of noises, like metal hitting metal and nothing has worked. i have replaced my shocks several times and the ride is still rough. i feel that the money i have spent should be reimbursed. the car's suspension has been horrible. i have spoke with the dealer and had him repair several parts and was told by the dealer, these cars have the same suspension problems. once they get so many miles on them they all tend to make noises no one can find. at what point does the manufacturer or the government step in an take care of all these problems, there should have been a recall issued on them at this point.
My car has been cutting off while driving. it happened about 5 times this year. the most recent incident was a wake up call that i could not ignore. i was going about 15mph making a left turn on to a busy street from another busy street and before i could complete the turn it cut off with cars behind me and to my left and right. i had no control over the car and started to veer into the occupied right lane. i had my too young daughters with me and it was very scary. i was able to cut the car back on immediately but this was unsafe. the other times i was driving straight and did not have to use the wheel to steer. i had no idea that if the car cuts off the steering goes with it. we took the car to chrysler who could not diagnose it, i then took it to my mechanic who could not diagnose it. he kept the car for about 3 days to see if he could replicate the issue - he couldn't. there was another chrysler 300 my mechanic said just got dropped off with the very same issue. i called chrysler who said to take it back in and they will work with us to see what the issue is. i wanted to let you know because i am not confident it will get fixed and i believe this poses a serious safety issue for the public. please look into this because others may ignore it at first like i did. but when my young girls where in the car and i had no control, i had to take action. *tr

On 2/27/2014 i was driving on the free way and my windshield wipers stopped working. it was very dangerous due to the fact that it was pouring rain out, and i had zero visibility on the highway. i had to pull over on to the shoulder, where i waited approximately 30 minutes before i was able to get my wipers to work again. on my way home from work later that day, as i was driving on the freeway once again, my car completely turned off leaving me stranded in the middle of the free way. i was able to get my car started and get home safely , although i was terrified. took my car to the dealer on 3/1/2014. tech stated it was a bad wiper motor, part replaced and still wipers will not work. replaced fuses and relays as recommended per dealer tech, still wipers will not work i have spent over 500$ in these repairs and still my wipers are not working. now the dealer is saying that i have a bad tipm (totally integrated power module). however, i am unable to get my car fixed since the part is on back order. apparently chrsyler has known about this problem for a while now since the part is on a national back order. i believe chrysler should recall all vehicles with a defective tipm. the dealer has given me an estimate of 1200$ for replacing the tipm. it's very aggravating since now i must pay for a rental car for who knows how long since not even dealers know when the part will be available. i will never buy another chrysler, dodge or jeep product again. after doing some extensive research, i have found that several models have this same issue. *tr
I have had a problem with my chrysler 300, 2008 model with my engine shutting off completely while driving. since 2012, it has happened twice on the freeway, once at a stop light, and at least 8 or 9 times where it refuses to start the car. i took it in to my chrysler dealership where i bought the car brand new (80 miles, coming in from orlando, i was told) in 2008. they informed me that the problem was the tipm (totally integrated power module), and i had to pay $597 for the repair. when my car shut off all by itself int he middle of the freeway, i had oncoming traffic, and had to make a quick swerve onto the side of the freeway (shoulder) as quickly as i could while the tires were still moving in order to stay safe. that was simply dangerous and would hate to see others who perhaps may have children in their car go through the same experience. the chrysler dealership stated:"tipm internal failure causing intem no start and delay when start 2.00" this is definitely a safety issue that has not been addressed, and evidently, there are forums on the web, as well as many articles and user comments on the same issue. kindly address this safety issue with urgency before someone is harmed. thank you, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

My driver side seat warmers malfunctioned and ended up turning on by itself and overheating and in turn, burning the driver's seat. i initially parked the car where i usually do and was planning on taking the car the next day to the chrysler dealership by my home. i woke up on the morning of august 31, 2011, walked up to my car (which had black windows from the smoke from the flames) and opened my car door to find my driver side seat burned to ashes. this is an electrical problem and the situation with my car is being fixed and chrysler is taking care of the problem. i do not want this to happen to anyone else. i pulled up some information about other chrysler cars with seat warmers and other people has experienced the same problem with the driver side seat overheating and burning their drivers seat to ashes. *tr

i bought a new chrysler 300 in 2008. the 300 is having very major issues in july 10, 2010 / september 09 , 2011 / september 04 2012 / august 12 , 2013/ , june 2014 / september 2014 the 300 had to be towed many times because the car will not start; this car was shutting down while driving what is very dangerous and scary ; when we put the car in neutral the car might restart, we had some very unsafe driving concerns at this time when the vehicle was stalling repetitively anywhere (freeway, regular street, when driving slow, fast), we were told it was due to a faulty ignition module and 6 times we came to chrysler it was something related to a faulty ignition we kept driving the 300 not feeling safe , the car stalls anytime ,anywhere , the dealership seems unable to fix the issue . my wife who mainly drove the car decided to let me drive the 300 because she was not feeling safe driving with the kids scared to get into a car accident because the engine never stopped shutting down anywhere she drives ( freeway, street) the ignition issue is consistent 1 year apart ,july 2010,september 2011,september 2012 , august 2013 june 014 ,september 2014 , i am certain if nothing seriously is done i will contact you again next year for the same issue. this faulty ignition issue must be fix permanently at chrysler dealership cost; my family is not safe driving this car; ; the dealership is well aware of the issue for many years now but they ignore us. i have enough that is why i contact you to see if anything you can do to help me resolving this issue. i will ask first for a refund associated to all ignition issues and a total fix of the problem ...
My 2008 chrysler 300 had received two notices for recall,1 for the ignition switch and 1 for the airbag/ i called chrysler corporate for an update for the ignition switch recall which i received about 10 months ago and i was told it was no estimated date when the part will become available and i will have to wait ;after multiple phone calls i asked for them to give me a rental car in order to drive in a safe car while they will keep my car and fix the ignition and the airbag issue but i was denied the rental car and was told i will have to deal with the issue ,they will not rent a car for my family and they do not have any estimate when the ignition part will be available;even if i insisted about the safety of my family and the fact a recall for the airbag was in to, they did not care ;i went to the chrysler dealership too and the response was the same ,it looks they are on the same page;no rental car for me and as they insinuated to me if we got into a car accident " though luck"/ i am not sure what to do now ; i tried to contact chrysler corporate multiple times,. the chrysler dealership the same and still not have a solution to my problem;i am ignored by chrysler by some issues in my car very dangerous and life threatening but nothing had been done and no estimate in perspective.i will need some help to have the issue resolved;my wife was driving the car even yesterday which stalled on the middle of the street again for no reason and it happens all the time ;as my wife says " she leave her life into god's hands "i do not think this is an acceptable and responsible behavior from a such big corporation and something should be done to help customers like me in distress. thank you for listening. *tr

About a month before the major incident my car windows wouldn't go down and the car did not start right away...then the day it just died i went to start it and the warning light said it was electrical.. i got the book out and the code showed you how to override the computer in the car by rebooting it..it didn't work so off my car went in a flatbed.. $500 later i was told that the computer in the car was broken. i also had to buy a new fob key because it now had a new computer to 'recognize" the car's electronics basically. and since then there has been something wrong with this lemon all the time. *tr
I had been complaining for two years about a ticking sound in the engine. i was told by ginn chrysler that it was nothing. the vehicle used to try to cut off while running. finally, on mother's day (2010) just leaving hard rock hollywood casino while driving on the florida turnpike at approx. 70 mph; the engine completely cut off in the middle of heavy thruway traffic. we were lucky enough to be close to an off ramp and coasted to a stop on the shoulder of the exit ramp.. we had to remain there for 3 hours until someone was kind enough to pick us up and take us home. my 83 year old mother-in-law had to stand up for a few hours until we were picked-up. the engine had to be replaced for $2450.23. a few months later, after receiving the new engine, the vehicle would have difficulty starting for four years. it seemed to want to cut off again. i reported this to massey and dadeland chrysler and was finally told after a free 24 point inspection during a oil change that it was the tipm. now, on 11/20/2014, i was told that it was the fobik in a recall letter. after being told of the numerous safety problems, i could not drive the car for fear of harming the public or myself and my passengers. i cannot drive this vehicle until it is repaired. i feel that i should be given a vehicle to drive until such time in the future. until then, i do not have my own transportation. i have paid $33,000 for this car. the consumer was informed the total integrated power module was replaced. updated 08/19/15*jb the consumer stated for several years he experienced problems with the vehicle not wanting to start or would cut off unexpectedly. one set of keys stopped working and the power steering would fade. updated 08/24/15. *jb

Excessive effort is required to operate the horn. the driver must strike the horn pad cover with much stronger than typical force, and only in certain , very specific locations before the horn will sound. in a panic, a driver will likely not meet these location / force requirements and the horn will not sound, resulting in other drivers and pedestrians not receiving a warning. the chrysler dealer has replaced the horn pad, but no improvement to the horns operation resulted. the dealer has informed me that they believe that horn system meets factory tolerances and specifications, and they will no nothing further. *tr
Approx 15 times since purchasing my new 2008 chrysler 300, i have found that i have no accessory power while driving. i.e. no heat/ac, no radio, no control of windows. it may actually have no accessory power from the time i start the car, as i often notice it within the first mile when i try to use an accessory. the only way to get the power back is to pull over, turn off the car and restart. occasionally i have had to repeat this process several times to get the accessory power back. i complained to the dealer within the first 6 months, and they replied that it is too intermittent for them to solve. *tr
We have taken our 2008 chrysler 300 to 2 different chrysler dealers and they haven't fixed our car. our car windows, ac, lights, brake lights, fan etc don't work several times. we have to stop the car and get to a safe place to restart the car and sometimes we get the power back. the first car dealer are saying they don't show any error in the system. the other dealer told us someone may have opened their garage at the same time we started our car and they saw a couple of errors but they can't do anything about it. they want us to buy american cars and then we get cheated and lied to by chrysler. they should fix our car. *tr
My 2008 300 touring was parked in a parking lot. the alarm started going off by itself. the a fire started out of nowhere from under the hood. then my car exploded from the front to the back through the exhaust pipe. i only had 6100 or so miles on my car. i just leased it in march of this year. *tr
Bought a 2008 chrysler 300 limited 3.5 on december 18th. on sunday the 23rd, i used the windshield washer due to flying road water after a rain, that resulted in a total electrical failure. engine stopped until i released windshield washer switch, and when it restarted..it was in a lower gear, resulting in significant slow down with braking. such an event in faster and heavy traffic could be a significant problem for occupants and/or those driving behind a car experiencing such an event. the dealership has stated that it was due to a major electrical circuit board that was ordered. the car was left with the dealer on december 24th and today they called stating that the part is on back order and have no idea when it might be available. if on back order, one has to think that there is a much larger problem than just my automobile. *tr
