On average, the 2006 Chrysler 300 starts to “feel” problems with the FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM and its various aspects after 98 372 miles.

Recently reported FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM problems on 2006 Chrysler 300

Turned ignition, car starts right up, then stalls. after several attempts car becomes drive-able but stalls while driving, stopping and turning. at this point steering wheel locks and turning becomes difficult which is scary while in traffic. this problem occurs periodically, sometimes the car will drive okay and then starts stalling. had this same problem in 2013, took to dealer and had to have gas tank replaced at a cost of $1300.00 dollars.

I filled up my gas tank, drove approximately 2 miles and came to a stop sign. at the stop i experienced a erratic idle followed by my car shutting off. i stared it back up and for about 5 seconds it still and a very erratic idle. i was able to get out of the street but it could have been very dangerous.

I own a 2006 chrysler 300c and recently when i fill it with gas and drive away from the gas station it shuts of and i have problems keeping it running. i'm afraid to drive the car now because it can stop on me in the middle of a busy intersection and that could be very dangerous, in fact... life threatening. i should not have to be afraid of driving my own car. that's ridiculous!

I drive a 2006 300c hemi w/60k miles.i bought this car from a friend. this car has been in this city since 2006. mid day temps 105'. i was running errands in town. i had stopped at 7 different locations, turned the vehicle off and a few minutes later returned to the car and continued with my errands. i was in the car sitting at a 4 lane intersection waiting for my turn and i looked down at the dash and the oil can light came on, then traffic started to move and i couldn't, my car had stalled. i turned off the a/c unit, the radio and put it in park. i tried 6 or so times to get the car to start but it wouldn't .i engaged my flashers while other drivers were honking and driving around me.i left it in traffic and got to the sidewalk out of danger. i was calling for help when a motorist pulled up behind my car and asked whats wrong. i told him it just died, sitting still waiting for our turn to go thru the intersection. he got in the car that had been sitting there for about 5 minutes and it started right up and he drove it to a safe parking lot. i parked the car in my garage and there it sits. i am afraid to get stranded in traffic again. i did some research on the web and found that chrysler announced on feb 13, 2014 chrysler extends lifetime warranty on 2006, 5.7 and 6.1 hemi fuel tanks. apparently, no one has died yet so it does not quality for a recall but this is a known problem. i would like to know how i can qualify for this warranty?

I first noticed surging at idle when in gear, this grew into stalling during stops and now is stalling/stumbling while driving. i've had multiple times where the car would completely stall while moving and had high potential for danger. i have no engine light and no engine codes. this car is an srt8 and driven very seldom, especially now. it's actually parked now due to this issue. the maintenance has always been meticulous and mechanics have come up dry with trying to figure this out.

Started car the next day after fueling car the night before at gas station on the corner from my home it started riding real slow it making funny noise when it started riding better, but got in the car the next day no start car was taken to 2 mechanic shop 1st one you need a engine did not believe it 2nd shop broke it down need engine full of oil changed every 3 months only problem had was that plastic ring on when car would not get out of gear which i'm not the only one that this has happened too now i have no car only had for 4/ years and this has happen a lot wow wasted money and i always let this car run before i moved because years ago my grand father said chrysler were cold nature cars warm them up i was not even ready for my tune-up.

Stalls out while driving after i fill it up with gas. it has happened several times and twice while i was at an intersection on the take off...it has happened while riding down the road right after i filled it up with gas. i make sure the cap is tight and i do not overfill tank, when gas pumps stops, i do not add anymore. it happens only after fill up and after it shuts off, or jerks several times it seems to run ok. it is very scary and there is no warning when it happens.

Chrysler 300 ltd rwd 2006 stalls when car slows down. have performed regular maintenance and had ignition switch replaced at dealership - car engine light comes on after it stalls, but when car is re-started, (which it does) engine light is no longer on - very dangerous to have no warning, just dies - car runs great when running, but quits suddenly when speed is reduced - do not want to own car anymore.

After filling tank with gas, the car stalls and dies in traffic and after stopping at light. was told by dealership that they must verify that it happens. well after having the car for 3 days, they say that they cannot duplicate the problem. so therefore will not perform the replacement. very dangerous and frustrating!! so will wait until accident happens or recall ifs finally issued!!!! this has happened to me 4-5 times in 3 days. *tr

It runs quiet and everything it just cut off on me while i was on brake at a stopping position, i was at a light on my brakes and it cut off on me, i just bought it yesterday, and filled my tank up...i love this car, what is wrong with it? *tr

I was leaving my neighborhood and i stopped at the stop sign. as i was leaving, i heard a jerk before turning. as im driving, i noticed that the gears weren't switching properly. i had to pull over and turn the car off and back on. later that day, i pulled into a drive thru and my car wouldn't move. the engine did not turn off but it wasn't revving. i continued to press the throttle and it finally jerked and moved. ive had many ocassions of my vehicle having no reaction from hitting the gas pedal to it not shifting gears. *js

I had just finished filling up when i pulled out the gas station, my car choked up, it continue fine for about a mile and when i stopped to turn left at the light my car completely turned off, tried to start it a few times and did not work waited about 5 minutes and the car finally started. i heard that this is an on going problem with thus model. this is the first time it happened to me. it was really scary but i was glad it happened when i was at the light. *tr

I own a 2006 chrysler 300 after filling my tank with gas i left the gas station, aprx.. 2 blocks away from the station my engine lost power and the engine light came on and off it regained power after about a block this is a serious problem that many people have had . i called chrysler they said my vehicle was not covered chrysler knows they have a problem . they won't do anything about it until someone gets killed . *tr

After filling tank with gas and driving off from gas station, the car misses, bucks and stalls out. stalls 3/4 times before i can continue driving. car will miss and buck several more times before running normal. i am the original owner of chrysler 300 with a hemi engine. i received no notification from chrysler informing me of this problem. this is a dangerous problem that chrysler needs to remedy for all cars involved. *tr

This has been going on for at least 6 months. everytime i fill my tank up with gas, stop at a stop light, the car cuts off. it cuts off everytime i stop after filling the tank. yesterday 10/28/2014, i filled and got on the highway, slowed to traffic and almost died. a car was coming full speed behind me, there was nothing i could do but pray. the car started and i was able to pull off. i had panic attach and i refuse to drive this car again! please help!! *tr

I was on the highway and the car completely power down and shut off. i was able to pull over to the side of the road waited a few mintues and restarted the car. the car is continuing to stall out. this is very dangerous this will happening at high speeds. *tr

My chrysler 300 2006 has been stalling at low speeds and when stopped after refueling. i took the vehicle to the dealership to have them check the problem for the first time in june. they did not find anything so i continued to deal with the issue until september because the issue got worse and stalled on the expressway. i received a notice from chrysler about my vehicle having a recall and to set up service. only after i brought the notice to the dealer did the acknowledge that this was the reason my car was stalling so much. they said the repairs were covered under warranty and they would order the fuel tank. this was over a month ago the dealership still has not received the parts. i recently was in a car accident because of this defect, my vehicle stalled on on the road and caused a 4 car pile up. i have contacted chrysler and they are not trying to resolve the issue. *tr

Shortly after i filled up my car it started stalling out. i was on the freeway and the car completely power down and shut off. i was able to pull over to the side of the road waited a few minutes and restarted the car. the car is continuing to stall out and i don't know what else to do. i have been to the dealership and they are not aware of what to do and just want me to bring it in an let it sit. but i need transportation that does not stall out and it is very dangerous my children were with me in the car when i lost power. *tr

Vehicle stalls while driving. one night while slowing down from 70 mph to 55 mph vehicle hesitated but did not stall, check enginge light came on and went off. next morning vehicle stalled while sitting at a stop sign, restarted and then stalled again after less then two blocks. took it to mechanic he could not find anything wrong, vehicle drove fine for a few days, then stalled again. called chrysler customer service and was instructed to take vehicle to dealer and tell them about x-53 warranty. dealership checked vehicle and stated it was infact the fuel tank and would order the replacement. told me i was in line to recevie a replacement but they only receive one replacment fuel tank every 14 business days. car was driving fine for 2 weeks now it's stalling again, does not matter amount of gas in tank car stalls at different speeds and when coming to a stop. contacted chrysler to see if there was anyway the shipping/ordering of tanks could be increased and this time they tell me my vehicle is not covered under the extended warranty and i had to pay out of pocket if i wanted to have the vehicle repaired. can this case be re-opened to look at all chrysler 19 gallon fuel tanks not just the ones on the x53 extened warranty listing. thanks *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300. the contact stated that after refueling, the vehicle failed to start. the contact received notification for an unknown manufacturer recall related to a faulty fuel tank. however, the parts needed were not available. the manufacturer was not aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 86,000.

Sending another log. not sure my complaint went through. since beginning of 2014 my 2006 chrysler 300c hemi intermittently stalls after refueling. it occurs immediately after a refuel and usually when you are at a low speed to stop at a traffic light, stop sign, or it can occur by just traveling at a slow speed. this can occur 'anywhere' after a refuel. it has occurred numerous times after pulling on interstates after a stop at a convenient refuel. i'm always frantic due to the traffic on interstates. i do not feel safe with myself and passengers in my vehicle with this situation. sometimes after a refuel it will stall 3 - 4 times. i was going to take my car to a dealership, but wanted to read on the internet if any issues as this were logged. i was amazed. chrysler should pay for the fix, since it is over $1000 to fix the issue, plus it is a known issue of 'numerous' recorded loggings. it stated on the internet that letters went out for a lifetime warranty for this issue, but i did not receive a letter. please let me know how to go forward with this issue.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300. while driving approximately 55 mph on the highway, the vehicle stalled and shut off without warning. the contact pulled over to the side of the road, restarted the vehicle after a few minutes, and drove home. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle to an independent mechanic since there was no chrysler dealer at that location. the mechanic was unable to diagnose the failure, but recommended that the fuel and fuel cap be replaced. the failure recurred several times, but the engine could be restarted each time. the manufacture did not offer any assistance and stated that the vehicle was not included in any recalls. the failure mileage was 90,000.

Everytime the car was filled up, it stalls a few times. this had been happening a lot during this pst year and still currently happens. luckily i was able to pull over when the car stalled, otherwise it will create accident. this is dangerous when driving on the crowded traffic. after it stalls couple times, the engine got clogged and it is difficult to start(this was the same time-dame day after filling up the tank). i brought it to the mechanic and he said he can't find anything since at the time he got the car to check, it doesn't stall. *tr

Car stalls after refueling. difficult to restart and leaves you in a very dangerous situation. we've had it completely stall going 70 mph down the interstate and almost was involved in an accident while limping to the shoulder. too dangerous to re-merge after car finally restarts because it will hesitate and misfire or stall again. this will happen about every 2 months with no symptoms between incidents. also seems to happen more in hotter weather. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 chrysler 300. while driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle stalled and the power steering failed which caused the contact to lose control of the vehicle. the failure recurred multiple times after refueling the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. the mechanic stated that the battery needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel tank needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact also received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v313000 (air bags); however, the parts were unavailable to perform the repairs. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 47,000.

The first time it happened i was sitting at a red light waiting to turn left. the car just stalled. i restarted without difficulty. it was a few days after when it happened again. it has probably happened about 7 times more since then, every time while i was idling with my foot on the brake. each time it restarted on the first try. however for the first time today the car stalled while in drive going about 15 mph. *tr

My car has been stalling out frequently, especially at stops. i have taken it to the dealership to check it out but they said that they couldn't find anything wrong, based on their computer diagnostics. *tr

After filling the gas tank, in phoenix, az, entering an intersection, the car stalled! we were almost hit by a car coming from another direction. it did this (stalling) many times. scary! apparently they issued an internal memo in june of 2013. in may, 2014 chrysler sent a letter to us extending the gas tank warranty to a lifetime coverage. they said it was the "fuel shut-off float, in the multifunction control valve sticks, which may result in the vehicle stalling after refueling." "simply contact your dealer to have the re pairs performed". challenge is: the dealers do not have any fuel tanks. glendale, ca chrysler has a waiting list of 2,276 yesterday, october 1, 2014. we are and have been #8 at hunter dodge in lancaster, ca since early may. we never fill the tank. it is too great a risk! help please. *tr

After filling up the car it will stutter and stall randomly. i have almost been hit twice and honked at numerous times for a basic, yet dangerous issue. *tr

I have a 2006 chrysler 300c bought it new and never had any problems until 2012 when we were traveling for the holidays and stopped to refuel. after filling the tank we started the car and proceeded to drive, the car started bucking and then would shut off. it did this twice before it stopped and then drove fine for the rest of the trip. it did the same thing on our way home after filling the gas tank but after doing it several times it drove fine for the rest of the trip. once home the car drove fine until i filled it up with gas and the problem started again. it bucks and then stalls, sometimes it will start right away and other times i had to let it sit a while. this has happened in the middle of an intersection, at a stop light and while just driving along. this is scary as well as dangerous because not only does it stop anywhere which could cause another car to hit you, the steering wheel locks and on one occasion i almost hit another car because i couldn't steer out of the way during a turn. took it to the dealership and was told i need to replace the gas tank gave me info about cannisters and vapors and not being something that is serviceable. of course it's going to be expensive but this type of problem is a danger on the road could lead to a serious accident. *tr

After filling up the gas tank, the car stalls when at speeds of less than 15 miles per hour. it stalls in the middle of intersections and on turning on to streets. took the car into the chrysler dealer and they informed us that the gas tank had to be replaced because of bad evap solenoid which is permanently affixed to the fuel tank. it is very dangerous to drive after filling up because of the chance of being rear ended. *tr

After refilling the vehicle with gasoline i travel about a mile from the service station and while coming to a traffic light the vehicle rpm began to decrease until the car engine shut off; i was able to restart the engine and the vehicle drove a short distance and began to stall again. i restarted the vehicle and was able to get the vehicle off the road into a parking lot; after sitting briefly i restarted the vehicle and drove it to tire kingdom to have it checked, the technician scan the vehicle and determined that there was no codes available to determined what caused the malfunction. he took the vehicle for a test drive but was not able to duplicate the discrepancy; in his opinion since the vehicle tank had just got filled more that likely the problem was caused by a vapor lock. i was told since the problem could not be duplicated to continue with my travel and if the problem returned to return the vehicle back for evaluation. *tr
