I own a 2006 chrysler 300. when the ignition is turned to the on position, the vehicle fails to shift out of the park position. the failure has recurred again continuously. i replaced it once already, two years ago. cost came out of my pocket. it was very expensive. after two years it is happening again. i am also having a problem with my turn signal bar on my stearing wheel. when i turn on the turn signal (no matter left or right), after i turn, the turn signal goes off but then i hear a loud click and the opposite one comes on. i called the dealer to make an appointment (i called the same dealer in bartow fl. that repaired it the first time and whom do all my oil changes etc) for these 2 issues and was told they are running behind and an appointment was given for 2 weeks away. once again, more out of pocket expense. i am being charged $150 just for them to check out the problems i am having. can someone please look into this to see if a recal can apply to this problem that im having for the 2nd time? once again, out of pocket for this repair is very expensive and i may not be able to pay for it this time due to i am unemployed now. please help!

Vehicle will not shift into gear from park. no warning lights are illuminated on the dashboard, there is nothing indicating there is any issue. pressing the brake does not seem to unlock the shift lock mechanism that would allow me to shift into gear. contacted chrysler group and was informed that although there have been recalls for the same problem in other model years, the 2006 model year is not currently covered. *tr
I own a 2006 chrysler 300 touring. i drove the car without any problem and parked in my car garage at home. i went to the car to drive out of home, engine starts well, but gear lever is stuck to park, will not disengage. i researched a little about this and noticed that this is a major problem with the chrysler car and many people have been having problems with this. i also noticed that chrysler had issued a recall for this problem. i called a local chrysler dealership and reported the problem and was told that the recall did not apply to my specific car. i then called the chrysler group recall assistance center at 1-800-853-1403. i spoke with [xxx] (employee id [xxx]) who told me that my car was not covered under the recall. i made it clear to him that this is a manufacturer problem, a defective product being sold to consumers like myself and that chrysler needs to take full responsibility for it. i requested for the name and email or other contact information of the person in charge of recalls at chrysler and [xxx] told me he is not allowed to give out that information. i was told i have to go fix my car myself for a manufacturing defect. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Floor gear shifter will not move from park position. chrysler says my vin was not part of the recall for this problem so they will not take care of the repair costs. i do not understand how chrysler can say some of the vehicles with faulty part will be covered by recall and others with the same problem will not be. *tr

Driving on to the freeway there was a click sound and the vehicle shut down had to take quick reaction as this is the entry to a very busy highway. managed to get into the breakdown lane car would not go forward put it in reverse and it worked then put it back into drive and managed to crawl home. the gearing is not changing through the gears. this is just after a rocker arm assembly being put into this vehicle two weeks ago. when i first purchased the vehicle the engine shut down on a busy road, turned out it was the remote start which was on the car when first purchased. what a nightmare this vehicle is. *tr
