Problems with 2005 Chrysler 300 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300. while driving 40 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but became stuck and caused the vehicle to accelerate. the contact had to physically reach down and pull the accelerator pedal up. the dealer (cullman chrysler dodge jeep ram, 300 benchmark way, cullman, al 35057) stated that an appointment had to be scheduled for diagnostic testing and repairs. the manufacturer was also contacted, but was unable to assist. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 88,000.

While driving my 2005 chrysler 300 the throttle body control light on the dash comes on.and the car starts running ruff looses power and speed till it comes to a complete stop. i have replaceed the throttle body and the main computer without any change. my machanic says the problem is in the wiring harness. they contacted the dealer about getting a new wiring harness and was thol the wiring harness was disconued an they no longer make wiring harness for this car +and that it couldn't be repaired.

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v352000 (air bags); however, the parts for the repair were unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. while driving approximately 25 mph and attempting to make a left turn, the vehicle would not turn. the vehicle began to accelerate without warning. the contact depressed the brake pedal; however, the brake pedal was locked. the accelerator pedal floored automatically without any contact. the contact attempted to apply the emergency brake; however, it failed. the contact turned the vehicle off and continued to steer until it came to a slow stop. the contact restarted the vehicle, placed the gear in park with the emergency brake applied, and the vehicle idled at high levels. the contact made another attempt; however, the failure recurred. the contact stated that the oxygen sensor warning light was illuminated and the air bag warning light was illuminated. the contact informed the dealer; however, the vehicle had not been diagnosed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure or issue. the approximate failure mileage was 140,000. vin tool confirms parts not available.

My 2005 chrysler 300 milage 103,269 is having problems decelerating while driving down the road in the middle of traffic. it's been to the chrysler dealership 3 times now and they said nothing is wrong. when this problem occurs it won't go over 200rpms. i let it set and the next day it'll be fine again until i drive it for a bit. the lighting bolt looking light stsys on. they replaced the throttle body, power control module, module power train control and t/body. $1800.00 later and the complaining to 3000+ customers at my work i wish i would of never purchased a chrysler. they are the worst people to deal with. after driving by the dealership on my way to work for two weeks and looking at my car sit i was furious. $750.00 for a rental for three weeks (a month ago) and now still no car! i've been stuck waiting for a ride, missed work and missed ball games for my kids over this problem. i'm just thankful i've managed to not get into a wreck over this since i've read others have. that's the only thing as a chrysler owner i'm happy about. thanks to god!

I have a 2005 chrysler 300 touring edition, the driver's side tension strut failed causing my anti-lock brakes to fail. due to the failure i had to swerve off of the road into a small ditch damaging my undercarriage and fender wells.

After getting fuel came out of gas station turned right about 100 feet came to a stop engine idled rough then died out. re started and kept dying out for next 2 to 3 miles . check engine light went on. had it diagnosed o2 sensor was replaced 3 miles later and more dying out check eng light is on again. i am out 300.00 dls. and still have same problem and cannot pass emission test. and cannot get my plates . *js

I have a 2005 chrysler 300 touring, my first major problem occurred about 6 months ago, a red lightening bolt symbol on the dash came on, and my car would not go over 10mph, took to the chrysler dealership, for them to say i needed a new pcm, which by the way was roughly $1500. had that replaced, car drove just fine for the next couple months, all the sudden it does it again, that same red symbol and esp bas symbol, back to the dealership, to say now it could be a throttle body, had that replaced roughly $500, picked my car up the day it was finished, didn't make it out of the parking lot, same haunting symbols came back on, oh yes, not to mention like 2 months ago, my car gear was stuck in park, thank goodness a lever fixed that problem, about $125. so yes, i'm going crazy, i don't know what to do about this red lightening bolt symbol and esp bas, honestly i think these chrysler's need a major recall, something just isn't right. these are some of the most common problems with the chrysler's 300 from what i've read. i have yet to still to find out what the problem is. i just can't why understand why the dealership that specializes in these specific cars, have no idea what the problem is, even after numerous diagnostic checks. *tr

I am the original owner w/o having the experience of the 300c stalling while depressing the accelerator previously. the car now stalls 3 to 4 times after refueling. i have purchased high-octane gas from the same vendor since 2004 w/ no issues. my mechanic thought it might be residue from the gas tank given the vehicle age or an air bubble because i let the tank get to ~ 2 gallons. mechanic could not find any codes indicating issues. the car now stalls w/i a minute of refueling while taking my foot off the accelerator several times between station & home. the car will not start in n, it has to be in p. typically the next day after refueling the car is fine, fortunately i did not make it to the highway when my car stalled requiring the more than 2 turns of the key in p. again no readings on autoscanner that i purchased because time/$ prohibit going to mechanic constantly. my son is learning to drive and teaching a 16 year old how to operate a stalled vehicle with no steering is difficult. upon stalling, the car brakes are the only option of controlling the vehicle. i hope chrysler finds a fix because this car has been very reliable. *tr

Filled up and let gas nozzle stop automatically. does not happen right away. but upon slowing down to stop, car will jerk forward. and after making a complete stop, usually at a stop light or middle of intersection, car will die. causing me to have to put car in park and restart. this will happen a few times until some fuel is burnt. this can be dangerous if car jerks forward into another car. i got this link after researching this problem on the 300cforums.com originally thought this was a bad gas issue. but found it to happen anywhere i fill up. *tr

The gas pedal is not returning back and i had to control the speed of the car with brake and also by lifting the gas pedal with my right foot. at one occasion i had to put the gear to neutral to avoid an impact with another vehicle in front.

After leaving my vehicle parked in a garage at the verizon center in washington, dc for approximately 2 hours. i started the vehicle and proceeded to exit the garage. as i left the parking space the vehicle was making a very loud noise as if the engine were going to fall out. i depressed on the accelerator and the pedal went straight to the floor board. i was going up an on ramp and the vehicle coasted backwards. . luckily there was a open space that my vehcle could safely back into. immediately after the electronic throttle warning light illuminated. my vehicle was later towed approximately 2 days later due to it being parked in a busy garage. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. after taking the vehicle in they advised me that the throttle was not opening. the vehicle was repaired by cleaning my throttle body. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was approximately 114,000. the vin was unavailable.

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 chrysler 300. while the contact was driving approximately 35 mph, unexpectedly the vehicle increased acceleration to the speed rate of 75 mph. when pressure was applied to the braked pedal repeatedly, the vehicle continued to accelerate. then the contact placed her foot underneath the accelerator pedal to release the sticky pedal which there was not a response. the vehicle was driven onto the shoulder of the roadway and the gear selector was shifted into the park position that allowed the vehicle to stop. the vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer for diagnosis. the technician was unable to duplicate the problem. the failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

I own a 2005 chrysler 300c, the gas pedal lever, which is made of a composite plastic, broke off while vehicle was moving at highway speed. had there not been a shoulder to pull off on, this event may have caused a fatal accident. vehicle was inoperable and is presently at dealers under warranty repair. this vehicle is a safety hazard to everyone on the road!! *nm

2005 300 limited has a throttle and engine problems. *ts when the consumer test drove the vehicle he told the salesperson about the vehicle rough idle. the salesperson said to drive the vehicle for about 1000 miles to work the bugs out of the engine. if that didn't work he was told to bring the vehicle back and the problem would be fixed under the vehicles warranty. the vehicle was returned to the dealer at 1700 miles. the dealer flashed the computer but the rough idle was still present. the flash created a high idle, lunging and popping sound when putting the vehicle in park. the vehicle also shook when turning the vehicle off. when the vehicle was driven over 30 mph the throttle would not ease down when the consumer foot was removed from the accelerator pedal. the consumer had to ride the brakes to slow the vehicle down. *nm

Dt: contact purchased a 2005 chrysler 300 limited edition sedan on 7-27-05. he drove it home. the next day his wife parked vehicle in the parking lot where she worked. 30 minutes later, the manager of the building called contact wife's office informing her there was a car on fire in the parking lot. flames came out of the engine block. the car was totally destroyed in less than 24 hours after purchasing it. the car parked next to contact's vehicle was destroyed, as well as 2 or 3 other cars were damaged. he contacted daimler/chrysler, and they were going to send someone to look at the car. the dealer agreed to give contact a loaner vehicle. contact did not notice any defect within the car prior to the fire. this was reported to the fire department and police department. contact had pictures of the car. he said that dealer installed a passive alarm system with an ignition kill, a remote start feature, could start the car without the key. a lo-jack anti theft system was installed. also, the car included a navigation system, power adjusted gas and brake pedals, self sealing tires, and side/curtain air bags . he purchased a an extended warranty of 7 years,100,00 miles bumper to bumper. *ak
