While getting on the freeway, at approx. 50 mph the car would not shift into next gear. rpm was 4500-5000 (as though possibly stuck in overdrive). i decelerated hoping it would compute the need to shift. it didn't. i tried accelerating slowly and still didnt shift. i slowed down, put emergency flashers on and took the next exit 1/4 mile or less away. since the light was red at the exit , i tried putting car into park and then back into drive to see if it would ('reset'), instead the shift selector was stuck in park. light turned green and i couldn't get it in drive, couldn't move. after several attempts it finally went into drive. when i got off work, same thing...stuck in park. after 4th try, i was able to get it in reverse, then into drive. i made it home without getting on freeway, parked the car 3 days ago and have not driven it since then. the car was already scheduled for recall repairs at dealership for tomorrow. hopefully i can get it there. (i bought this car a week ago)
Vehicle was parked but unable to shift out of park due to a broken interlock return spring hook as described by chrysler in https://chrysler.com/webselfservice/pdf/k39.pdf chrysler says my vehicle is not covered eventhough it is the same year and model as described in the letter
Unable to shift vehicle out of park due to trasmission interlock latch he spring broke from the latch there is a recall k39 but not on this vehicle
The vehicle is stuck in park with no other issues. car will turn on, rear lights work, steering wheel turns. consistent with issues realted to damages to the transmission shifter interlock lever.
Driving down hwy at 65 mph and car stalls no light to warn. all of a sudden no control over shearing not knowing car was off. pulled over reatart car to only have in limp mode. happened twice. car also says throttle body code. changed throttle body still wont go over 5 mph now. unable to tell what wrong. after 4.mechanics..i give up. chrysler should fix this from what i understand this is a huge issue with other 2005 chrysler 300 owners.
Transmission interlock shifter is affected in my car however its not showing on my recalls please help
Transmission shifter interlock lever recall k39 vehicle was parked, when i turned on the ignition, i was unable to shift vehicle from park, however, chrysler insists my vehicle (based on my vin) is not part of the recall. i do not want to pay for this repair, how can chrysler exclude vehicles from the recall, when this problem should be covered by the recall? what recourse do i have as a consumer?
Chrysler recall #k39 consisted of most 2005 - 2007 who had or may have the issue. i phoned chrysler to inform them that i now have the issue but the representative said that my vehicle had to have been manufactured on june/july 24, 2007. my thought is that if it had to be manufactured in 2007 how would any 2005-2006 vehicle qualify for the recall. then all the representative kept saying is that my vehicle does not qualify, while i am informing him that it has to qualify because my shift is doing just what you all recalled. he kept saying, well that is not on "your list". well, i need him to add it to "my list". whatever "list" he is speaking of. the stuck shift happened last night about 11:00pm when i got off from work, started my car, went to shift gears and nothing happened. i feel my car's shift failure falls in-line with the recall k39.
Vehicle shutters and rumbles when turning wheel. break light constantly goes on and off.
Dash says no bus air bag light comes on all warning light come on head lights start flashing on/off wipers stop, radio stops working this is an manufactures defect as this problem occurs on a large number of chrysler, dodge, jeep vehicles from 2005-current this is a safety issue when this problem occurs at night and you have lights flashing on/off and dashboard doesn't illuminate nor does speedometer can cause serious problems its just not a random occurance its a major occurance my experience with this problem is when it rains and in the winter time
Car gear stuck in park. having totake to dealer, very stupid thing to happen to this type of vehicle. cost 400.00. will never buy another chrysler other recommend one to family or friends. how can certain vin be recalled and not all.
Takata recall- my electric throttle control shut my engine down while on the express way in heavy traffic the gas pedal would no longer accelerate the car. i had to try to get over and put my hazardz on. i couldve died and it was night time. this part should be recalled.
I am having a problem with the wireless ignition node (win) module, which can exhibit a binding condition of the solenoid latch. it's possible that the key can be removed from the ignition switch prior to placing the shifter in "park," which can cause unintended vehicle movement. there was a safety recall for the year 2010 model, but i am having the same problem with the 2005. my car was stationary. the dashlights will not go off i have been able to pull the key out and the radio would still be playing after i opened the door. i have been able to remove the key and the engine would still be running. now i can't get the car to start at all, the key is not engaging but the dash instrument lights are still on, i had to disconnect the battery so the battery would not lose power.
The car stalled in the middle of the freeway while driving at 65mph!! it is a miracle no other car crashed into us and killed us. it also stalls on the streets and after filling it up with gas. sometimes it starts up again and sometimes it doesn't. the car is a safety hazard to my son and me!! it is a 2005 chrysler 300 2.7l.
When i start the car its sounds fine after a few minutes it sounds like water running though the dash on driver side, vey complicated to explain. i don't know what it is but it last about 2/3 minutes.
Gear shift stuck in park

In july, i was stopped at a stop sign. my car went dead - engine stopped, lights, radio went off. i put it in park and restarted. next occurrence was about a month later at a stop sign again. last occurrence was september 22, 2014 - this time the car felt like it was decelerating on the interstate at approx. 60 mph - the malfunction light flashed and the esp bas light came on. after i got off the highway, the car completely shut off at a stop sign. i put it in park and restarted. my mechanic has installed a program update b/c he couldn't identify the problem. i do know i filled up my car the friday prior to the last occurrence and did not drive it until the monday am when this last incident occurred. *tr
While driving my vehicle home yesterday evening my car shutdown by itself. i had to restart 3 times to make it home. this is extremelly dangerous as i was on a high rise bridge at the time. anyone knows if there is a recall on this vehicle. again today it shutdown and will not start again. i had to be towed to a repair shop. *tt

2005 chrysler 300 was parked in garage over night when we went to start vehicle it started just fine but it would not shift out of park to reverse to get out of garage. this happened on june 18 2011. come to find out it was a spring that had broke off from a piece of plastic down in the shifter that had broke. *kb
I am terrified to drive my chrysler 300 .they have over 3 recall on my car. every time i am driving my car i'm watching the air bag light. please help!!!! what do i need to do??? there no incident i just need help with my car. i'm worried about the air bag. why did they put the 2.7 engine in those car? they are the worst engines.
Without any warning the gear shift would not move out of park. i had the vehicle towed to the shop and found that i had to replaced the gear shifter component in my chrysler 300 vehicle. i later found out that this part has been recalled on other dodge and chrsyler vehicles, but not on mine. now today my car is showing symptoms that the gear boc may be failing again. the key will not come out of the ignition because the gear is not go holding property in park. i am going to take the car to a chrysler dealership and see if chrysler will fix it. i repaired the vehicle less than 5 months ago. *tr
air bag light came on, brought the car to the dealer, they said it was a faulty air bag in the steering wheel. this car has never had the air bag deployed. they replaced the air bag for $690.00. a week or so later the light came on again, brought it back to the dealer and they said it was the airbag sensor, to the tune of $263.00. *tr
The gear shift gets stuck in park position. we have to insert a ink pen or screw driver inside the panel in order to get it another gear. this problem started in 2006 but it keeps getting worse. yes, the vehicle is stationary when this happens.
Day after purchase noticed load roar and steering wheel vibrating when the compressor for the air condition kicked on and off, called dealership and was told to keep driving maybe it will work itself out, maybe a kink. i am now on my fourth visit and the problem is progressing. the vehicle now stutters and almost dies each time the compressor kicks on and off. the dealership located in crystal city, mo is still figuring out how to handle the problem, which started the day after purchase.
While making a left hand turn vehicle stalled. consumer pulled over and restarted the vehicle. dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.*ak updated 12/14/2005. the sunroof shattered when the consumer closed his door. the dealer claimed this occurred because the glass was binding in the track. the headliner was coming down in the rear. . *nm
the vehiclewas brought to freehold chrysler for service for the engine light coming on, not shifting properly, hesitation, left and right side molding coming off, trunk latch broken and car pulling to the right. freehold chrysler stated they could not duplicate the problems and found no codes and the wheel alignment was done at a cost to me of $95.00,molding and trunk latch was replaced. we then brought the car back again for pulling to the right about 1 week later and again the told us it was fixed.the vehicle was not pulling as much but still was. about 2 weeks later the car was red lining, not shifting and stalling on her. we brought the car to eatontown chrysler in which they found a transmission solenoid to be bad and replaced it. we then started to experience electrical problems such as rear window not working all the time and air bag light sometimes flashing on and off while driving and again hesitation when stating from stop. also the moon roof interior shade opens to about an inch after driving to vehicle for about a week. we contacted freehold chrysler about these problem and the previous wheel alignment and made an appointment for may 3, 2005. now its may 8th and we have approx. 20,000 on the vehicle and we are being told the wheel alignment was completed based on a service bulletin and at no cost to us, even though we paid $95.00 originally, and the rest of the problems cannot be duplicated and there's nothing else they could do. i contacted the chrysler corp. service center at 18009921997 and spoke to numerous people in reference to these problems and was told to take the car to another dealership and there's nothing else that they could do. ...
Purchased a 05, 300 touring, signature series, oct 04. noticed after driving car home (100 miles) car pulled to the right. car has been serviced at every required mileage limits. car has been in shop for pulling to the right numerous times and adjustments have been made. good year tires wore out at 23k miles. dealer stated nothing they could do about it even though it had been documented that tires showed improper wear throughout the servicing periods. i had to purchase 4 new tires. the car still pulls to the right and have been given some story that it will prevent me from going into on coming traffic if i pass out at the wheel. front windshield fogs up when using air conditioner, road noise is bad, power train and rear end leaks, the plastic sunvisor holders break often (replaced twice). carpet cut too short to stay under door panels. *nm
